Cyrilic support, 5 years later?

Bulgarian here. I would love to have Cyrillic available in the chat. I don’t care about character or guild names, I think they should remain Latin only, but Cyrillic is just a must-have for the chat. At this point I’m using English even when communicating with fellow Bulgarians, because the transcription from Cyrillic to Latin characters is the most cringiest and godawful thing ever.

Guild Challenge won't start

This was really disappointing. We met up with another 2 guilds on the way to the Scratch Sentry Defense challenge and none of us could do it. Can you please at least disable it until you fix it?

+1 for the split. Please do it. It doesn’t matter if the items share the same theme or not – they should be available separately and the pack should be there for people that like several of them and can get them on a discount/with bonus items.
And I’m pretty sick of people saying “If you don’t like it, don’t buy it”, because the thing with the packs is that some of us like some of the items and aren’t willing to pay for the rest that we don’t care about. I’d buy the glider. I wouldn’t buy the pack. So Anet are actually losing the money they could otherwise get from me.
This is like going to the supermarket to buy a shampoo and finding out they only sell packages with shampoo, conditioner, soap and bath salts. And I don’t even have a bathtub. At least irl I could give the stuff I don’t want to someone else…

I can understand not compensating for the pre-dc stacks, but what about the after-dc ones? I had a dc one of the days, it was early in the event and I managed to get 10-ish stacks after logging in again. At the end of the event – no reward for these new stacks. Don’t you have a record of the after-dc stacks, so you can send out Blooms for them?

I would like to see the Blooms drop and be useful again. This event was really rushed and caused a lot of negative emotions, so I feel like you’ll have to make up for it with a better one. XD You’ve heard all the complaints already, I’m not gonna repeat them.

My advice/suggestions for future short events like this one:
- Don’t make people work for themselves in a group event. It’s not cool. (This applies for long-lasting events as well.) If your reward will depend on what you do, it should be based on your real contribution, not on the number of events you passed by. Give more currency for completing an event with gold or silver than with bronze. Or something like that.
- Lower the prices of the items or give more currency as reward for doing the events. If it’s going to last 3-5 days, people should enjoy it and not stress over not being able to get a nice reward if they don’t participate in every kitten event during the day (and night).
- Have two or more tiers of the same items, but with different event currency to gold cost ratio (a rough example: an item in tier 1 costs 200 event currency and 10 gold, the same item in tier 2 costs 100 event currency and 40 gold). It seems like a fair deal to me. If I have the time, I’ll save my gold and grind the event currency. If I don’t have the time, I’ll do the events once a day and make up the rest with gold. There will always be people who are more willing to participate in the events than to waste their gold, so the event zones won’t be empty. At the same time, people that can’t spend that much time playing or find the events too boring can sacrifice their gold (or gems turned into gold). Everyone wins?

Lastly, if you could add ALL account-bound currencies to the wallet, it would be great. I still have leftovers from past events sitting in my bank. If they will never ever ever be used again, make them tradable for gold or another currency that’s in use. And if you think that they might be used again someday, just add them to the wallet. My bank will really appreciate that.

1k gems for... an OUTFIT?!

+1 for the ranting people, because:

- We’re already so used to Anet being lazy with the armors and outfits in the shop (one look for every race, clipping, recoloring existing armor sets) that some of us can justify the high price with the excuse that the wedding outfit has 10 different looks. The common town clothes that were turned into a tonic were race- and gender-specific. They were given for free and they set an example and an expectation of how the future town clothes/outfits will work. Cook’s outfit, which is also one of the first in the game and still available, may not have different male/female looks, but it is race-specific and includes a toy. I would think that a toy weapon that has 5 skills takes more time to plan and make than a dress.

- And on that note – it took more time to make? That’s a valid excuse? If prices were based on “time and effort to make”, every item in the shop would have a different price. That’s not the case. Sorry, but I just can’t find a real justification of the difference in the prices of items that belong to the same category. (Another example can be seen if you look at the minis – the beetle costs 500 gems, while all others cost 350. Logic?)

- Even if that outfit indeed took way more time and efforts to make than the others, 300 gems is a really big boost to the price. The armor sets cost 100 gems above the outfits and offer a lot of customization options (yes, they are not universal for all armor types, but the price is still reasonable). So we pay 100 more for the option to customize and 300 more for… what exactly? My female charr’s outfit now looks different than my male asura’s outfit?! Wow, that’s amazing, and revolutionary, and totally worth it!!!

- The arguments/speculations that you buy the outfit now and your wedding is as good as done, “when” such mechanic is introduced, are really funny. You pay 1000 gems for the outfit, then, someday, you’ll most likely will have to pay 1000 more for god knows what. A certificate? A priest NPC? Consumable rings? An outfit and some roses in LA are not enough reason to get hyped about actual wedding mechanics and hope that the 1000-gem outfit will have some higher purpose.

- Yes, no one is forcing us to buy it, but that doesn’t mean that we can’t have issues with the pricing.

- Wedding dresses cost a lot in real life. I hope that this was not a serious argument. XD

- They could at least throw in a toy bouquet with 1-2 skills to go with the outfit.

tl;dr
My opinion is that the outfit, as it is now, is overpriced and I will wait for a real sale or an improvement (a toy, less clipping, better textures, special effects, etc.) to buy it.

Basically once you join, every ‘correct’ hit damages you (and you don’t get credited for it) and if you do nothing your health will not decrease at all. You will get 100 points for each round though, but will not receive a present (which makes perfectly sense!)

I have been experiencing the same issue and it’s pretty annoying. Hope it gets fixed for next year at least (ha-ha).

Thanks for the interest, Vexation! :)

Our recruitment is still open for social players who are ok with being part of a small community and would like to invest their time to help that community grow a bit.
Edge of Sanity has all possible guild features unlocked and lots of influence/merits, which allows us to support our active players with boosts on a daily/weekly basis.
So gather your friends and join the MAD!

Greetings from Edge of Sanity [MAD]!

I am the co-leader of the guild and since you seem like the type that might fit in our mad company, here’s some brief info about us:

We currently don’t have a lot of members, ‘cuz we try to keep and recruit active and social people who enjoy casual gaming and actually getting to know their guildmates (most guildless players usually jump at the “400+ members, regular champ farm” guilds). Having fun while gaming together and helping each other in achieving our goals is what moves us forward. Our core members and officers have been playing since the beta weekends and are experienced in pretty much every aspect of the game.
We don’t have strict rules about being super active and representing 100% of the time, so you can play whenever you can/like and occasionally check out other guilds. We only require you to see MAD as your main guild, to stay on Gandara, and leave us a notice if you’re going to be absent for a long period of time.
We have a guild site, a Facebook group, Teamspeak 3 for voice communication, guild buffs during the weekends and two evenings a week dedicated to 4 different guild missions.
MAD is generally PvX oriented, with PvE taking the biggest part of the “X” at the moment. We gather together mostly for missions, dungeon runs and to help each other with Living World events.

If you want to know more about us, check our recruitment thread and/or guild site. You can send me a mail/whisper in-game if you want an invite or directly apply on the site.

Cheers and hope to see you in Edge of Sanity!

Edge of Sanity has been around since the first beta events in 2012, we’ve had our fair share of all which Guild Wars 2 has to offer, we’ve seen ups and downs and we’re definitely here to stay!

Our goal at the moment is to gather more players and strengthen our diminishing forces in order to rebuild the MAD community and move forwards. We’re the right guild for you if you’re looking for a casual chill place, if you value quality over quantity and if you’re willing to put yourself out there and make your mark in the guild’s development.

Our focus is mainly on PvE, but we enjoy casual PvP-ing and even some roleplaying as well. As we’re working or busy with studies, our gametime is limited to the evenings and weekends and you should have that in mind. We will support you in your exploration of old Tyria and the tangled Maguuma Jungle; you’ll have access to our guild hall and to consumables, recipes and various items, deposited into our vaults.
Additionally, we have a guild site, Facebook group and Team Speak, all of which are optional (no one will force you to use them if you can’t or don’t want to).

We need you to:

Show support
A guild is a guild because of it’s members; it is a community, a place where you know and talk to people, where you find friends. We don’t want to become a gathering of strangers who party up in near-silence and go about their own business when they don’t need help for group content. Showing your support by representing and communicating is important to us, so if you decide to keep the MAD tag, prepare to be a full-time madman.

Show respect
Not everyone enjoys speed runs and not everyone likes to use the “meta” builds. Some like to experiment. Some enjoy running with the boss trains. Some find motivation in achievements and collections. We all have our different ways of enjoying the game and a good guild should provide a shield, a safe environment for that enjoyment, instead of pushing its members into stereotypes. Whatever your vision and opinion is, it will be heard and respected and we will expect from you to show the same towards the rest of us.

Show your face
You are not a number, so don’t act like one. We want to hear from you, we want to know who you are, how your day was, what would you like to do in and out of the game. Don’t worry, you won’t be bombarded with personal questions and no one will poke at your deepest secrets, but you gotta be open to communication, show sense of humor and don’t mind when some of us get all chatty. We are usually social animals.

Whisper me in-game or send a mail if you need more info and would like to give MAD a try. You can also apply directly from our guild site or leave any comments/questions in this thread.

Difference between the spoken and written lines [personal story]

in Bugs: Game, Forum, Website

Posted by: neferet.5687

neferet.5687

I’m playing Norn and I’m on The Dredge Hideout story (level 24).
I noticed a contradiction in the lines of Scholar Prott – the written ones go “I may be able to help there. My peers have intercepted a coded message from Vyacheslav. With the Priory’s resourses we should be able to crack the code in fairly short order.”, but he actually says a bit different lines.
The next story – Sabotage (level 26) also had a bug. While I see Crusader Thurkill and his line “That’s how the Vigil handles those who kill our soldiers and trifle with dragons…” on the screen, I actually hear Scholar Prott talking.

I realize that’s a minor thing compared to all other issues, but no harm reporting it anyway. I will keep my post updated if I encounter any more of these.
