A 30+ slot bag.
Hello. I am an experienced mmorpg player and I’ve played all the big games so far. I’m new in GW2 (joined about 2 months ago) and so far I got 3 characters to lv80 and im working on another one atm. Unfortunately for me too the game is nothing close to fun, even though I got into it with so much excitement after all the comments and videos I’ve watched prior to purchasing. A couple of things that spoil the fun for me: the grindfest! its simply horrible and unrewarding (worst I’ve experienced in an mmo). Dungeon grouping! there is a general lack of direction when it comes to roles in a group environment and it tends to be very disappointing to new players who find themselves in a downed state all the time. It’s made me feel hopeless and helpless several times and that was even in the early dungeons where the game should be very forgiving. The world feels amazingly small and boring. The lore is plain boring for me, so much that I skip all cut scenes and dialogues. Crafting and gathering, also very dull (after playing ffxiv arr its going to be hard to find better or equal crafting/gathering). Gearing! From what I’ve seen so far (correct me if im wrong), gearing is horrible since basically you have two tiers of gear to choose from which is exotic and the upgrade, ascended. What I hate is that for example a karma berzerker exotic sword and a dungeon token exotic sword come with exactly the same stats and after that its all about different skins with no difference statwise. And finally I find ridiculous how the legendary weapon crafting concept works. You spend hundreds upon hundreds of gold and time to grind mats for a weapon with stats that are the same as an ascended weapon and all you truly get is a shiny skin
I have played a bit WvW and it was also boring, basically all I did was follow a huge zerg in a map and capture bases and occasionally fought with enemy zergs in battles that werent remotely fun. I havent done any pvp yet so I dunno how that works. No healers, no tanks, no dps, everyone is everything and everyone has to take care of themselves. I understand anet wanted to try a new approach but for me this is not working good. Sure some classes can support the group with some abilities but it’s minimal. I havent felt once that feeling of “bonding” with my group, like you have my back and I have yours. It’s everyone for themselves. Anyway that’s how it has been for me so far, I hope the expansion will make it more interesting somehow. I wanted to get addicted to this game for many reasons..
Sorry but this is a nightmare to read.
Short answer is no. However, if you fore-go upgrading your main account then you can have 2 accounts but your main account will not have the X-pac. The X-pac gives you the core game as a bonus.
Who holds a rifle like that?! People seeing a rifle in that pic are just wanting to see what they want.

I am still a newbie (been playing for a month or so) to this game so thanks Vayne… I will take your advice.

You must be really bored if skill points from leveling after 80 factor into whether or not you play a particular alt…
Not saying I am bored playing alts or the game itself. But I do feel like I am wasting my time if I play and get no “progression” or EXP in the end game of PvE. And oddly, yes gaining skill points (for me) from EXP was part of my form of progression.
For now, my 80s will be put on freeze until I can get the new progression from the Xpac EXP for masteries. Just have to wait for HoT.

I hit level 80 on a few of my characters and I feel a little cheated with this new hero system. In the past, after 80 we would get skill points for crafting so gaining EXP post 80 meant something (for me at least) for my PvE end game content. Note, I don’t PvP at all and I have no interest in WvW.
Now I understand, why Anet changed the system with the new mastery system coming for HoT. However, we don’t even have a release date for HoT. So the Xpac can come out in late 2015 or anytime in 2016. So does that mean I have to shelf my 80th level toons until HoT.
Luckily, I have alts and I can work on that for now but it’s getting a little discouraging. So my question is what do you guys do post 80 after this patch in your PvE end game?

Chill people, no two professions get the same weapon for specialization and rangers were already known to get staff (Druid). The chance of thieves getting staff is flat 0%. Thief will be more likely to get rifle than staff.
Guessing thieves might become monk/ninja class with staff. Anet even added the monk armor skin in-game already.

This is dreaming but if they ever put in mounts, I would love to have a pet I can use as a mount as well.
I would love a 3D MMO with a tamer class just like in Ultima Online and GW2 is the closest it gets to that class.
I would also want pets that level up and get stronger with random starting stats. So you can get a junk pet, a very promising pet, or anything in-between. Just need to ability to be able to lose pets or dump them.
On topic of your thread, I would like to see more felines, reptiles like snakes, or mystical pets like griffons.
With druid elite spec, I bet there will be new pets. However that makes me wonder if it will be druid only pets.
I don’t get why people are complaining about the amount of info we have on HoT. Why does every detail need to be explained before getting it? Whatever happened to discovering things in the game that you didn’t know about?
I am very interested in the remaining elite specs, I don’t want to be surprised there.

I’m aware that people who bought GW2 during the first quarter will be refunded… and what about the veteran’s – the playerbase who is supporting the game since the very beginning?
Only a character slot isn’t enough…
Guess the 3 years you been playing was torture? Isn’t playing GW2 itself a reward that no new player can ever experience? Was the base cost of GW2 back 3 years ago too high for you… that you think you are entitled to some added reward for being a vet.
The reasoning behind the refund for newer players who were under the impression that they needed the core game to play HoT. Also how about the players who just happen to buy game and 2 weeks later it’s offered for free with HoT,
Think of those players who had to pay double the price for the same game who felt ripped off and cheated. I know Anet didn’t mean it to come out that way, and it seems like some miscommunication between NCsoft and Anet. But they are repairing that with the good will of refunds for recent buyers of the core game. Those new players who don’t have years of benefits of playing GW2. Those vets who have 1000s of gold, and other hoard items.
As in title topic.
So Jelly!
Seens to be the most logic thing actually.
The whole setup for HoT StoryLine is the Season 2 (That is actually sold in gemstore as 200 gems per episode).
I already have all episodes, since i played on the releases, but I was thinking how upsetting would be for new players get into the game, complete the core storyline, and then find out that it have a gap in between core storyline, and Hot Storyline – And they will have to once again, pay for that piece of story..
What’s next that Anet can give away for free… Stock shares, oh yes the kitchen sink.
You pay for the core game and you can play “forever”. No one is forcing you to spend any more money to play. Expansions are not created out of a vacuum, it cost tons of money and man-power to create. Anet doesn’t run a charity where millionaires around the world send money to help the poor, down and out gaming community.
If you want a refund, then why waste your time posting here and call customer support.
You bought the upgrade and used the goodies, and it seems you bought it for a reason. So stick with your gut and don’t let anyone change your mind. If you don’t want to pre-order, then call Anet to see if you can get your money back and in turn lose your goodies and more.
Look ArenaNet, I get that you’re in damage control mode and it was a very tactical move. Yet, you’ve still not done the right thing and made the character slot available for any preexisting account. Instead, you do the wrong thing and make it a prepurchase bonus. That’s not a veteran reward and I’m not prepurchasing because of this.
I really hope you guys can learn to listen before making some decisions. Your history says otherwise.
Anet runs a business not a charity.
I bought the $50 HoT package, is it possible to upgrade that without paying full price (75-99 dollars)?
Even after that blog post I still don’t feel too hot(pun intended) about the expansion pack. Form what we’ve seen and hear so far from anet it doesn’t seem like much content yet it has a 50.00 base price, unless this expansion is up to caliber with expansions like WoW and FF14 then it’s not even worth it tbh. We need Anet to reveal more about the content coming to HoT so I can finally set my mind at ease(or disappointment).
If the $50 price tag for the Xpac is too much for you, then don’t buy it and wait until it’s sold months later at a discount.
Honestly, some people will never be happy no matter what Anet does.
A character slot should be included with HoT even if people buy it after it comes out. Only including it in the preorder is messed up.
The character slot is required to make HoT fully functional. The core game doesn’t even have enough slots for all core professions. At the very least you should add one with HoT for the new profession.
To me this feels like I’m being bullied into preordering. I would much prefer to wait until the game comes out and decide if it’s worth the price.
Pushing the preorder this hard makes it seem like you don’t have confidence in the quality of the product. If it’s a good product people will end up buying it after it comes out.
Simple fix… pre order it or forever hold your peace.

Claim the core game is free when you are actually charging a extra $10 for it forcing the players who have the core game to re-buy it. Not adding character slots so that hundreds of thousands of players need to buy them making Anet millions just off character slots….GG
So let’s ignore the 3 years of free content Anet added to the game. Any MMO company sell their core game at great discounts to get fresh players and that includes bundling it with Xpacs.
If you don’t think HoT is worth $50 don’t buy it and wait until it will be sold at a discount in the future.
Yes, I would love that here as well. The spam from the same posters is getting out of hand.
Now I am reading that someone F*ed and bought the expansions?
What is wrong with you guys?
It is a choice. You either buy it or you don’t, simple as that.
It’s been two days now and I have seen people wanting to boycott, down right refuse this expansion due to price and lack of character slots and lack of information as exactly what we are entirely getting when we buy this?
This is getting annoying now. Either you buy it or you don’t.
To me, this went from justified surprise, then anger, then ranting then rioting to seeming boycotting to now giving out “warnings”?
Guys, come on… calm down. Please.
I never seen people rage over 10 dollars in my life or 800 gems. Any long term player can easily get 800 gems in game without spending a dime.
Funny thing was the hype for the new profession was not that great, then all of sudden everyone and their mother wants to play one now after the pre-order was put online.
All I have to say is City of Heroes.

Actually if you just bought the game four days ago, from what I have seen you should contact support. If you paid full price through this website there is a good chance they will work with you to upgrade you to HOT.
I am a 2 week old new player and when I saw the Xpac comes with the core game for free, I did feel a bit ripped off. But I am enjoying the game regardless but I do hope Anet would come up with a decent compromise because a lot of players are upset about the pricing and packaging of the Xpac.
I really hope smaller guilds can have a chance to get guild halls as well.
