I only spent money to buy the game itself, no further purchases. I’ve been really happy without the extra additions from the shop.
In my eyes, these are some major changes! I especially like the elementalist preview.
When these are released, will we have our traits reset or do we have to buy another manual to re-trait?
I definitely know what you’re talking about, since I own the short bow. It’s not a big priority though, and there are many other things to work on first. If it’s an easy enough fix, I wish it will come soon
If you get the AC dungeon armor, it gives power, toughness, and vitality. I tend to focus more on toughness than power. In my hero panel, I have about 1600 power, 1800 toughness (not armor), and about 1700 vitality. I hardly have any precision(barely 1k) and 0 critical damage.
Sooo toughness > vitality > power. Just a personal preference
Hope you enjoy this class
I find it more enjoyable than my thief sometimes!
Trait wise, I personally do not go past 10 in fire, the +10% damage on attunement is good enough. The rest in the fire line are “just okay”, and there are other trait lines to spend your points on. I put 30 into earth for the nice boost in toughness and condition damage, taking “Signet Mastery”, “Earth’s Embrace”, and “Written in stone”. Because of 2 of the 3 traits, I have at least 3 signets on my toolbar. Most of the time it’s signet of restoration (heal slot), signet of fire, and signet of earth. I switch fire for air when I’m out exploring. It’s nice to pop a signet and continue to have the passive effects. As for the other 30 points, I put 15 in water for “Cleansing wave” and 15 in Arcana for “Elemental attunement”. With all of this, I’m able to heal a bit and take more punishment from mobs.
I’m a staff elementalist so I just range and use AoE. If you’re thinking about what sigil to use on your sceptre, dagger(s), or staff – I suggest taking a look at the sigils that trigger on weapon swap. Attunement swap is the same as weapon swap.
I’m not sure what else to cover since I’m not an expert, but there’s my advice
I run dungeons and PvE, and my build centers around condition damage. I personally don’t know if it’s the best way, but I do enjoy my bleeds cutting away the health bars
I believe warriors or a thief would be a good choice. Typical playstyle from other games, if you’ve played others before.
Since I own the shortbow from AC, I do hope that the graphics will be looked into if it’s a bug.
Ah I understand now, my apologies.
Some guilds host or announce in map chat for “catch up” days of fractals. The guild/guild members willingly go down and help lower levels advance. I do agree that the group system should be revisited though.
I run the same dungeon paths on my main and alt and haven’t hit DR. We skip mobs and bosses, and we still get 60 in the end.
As an example, I run AC path 1, 2, 3 on my main for 180 tokens total, plus the 3s from the wonderous goods. I switch to CoF for 1, 2, 3 with same result. Then I repeat with my alt starting with AC with no DR.
In map and guild chat, as well as on the forums, I see terms that I haven’t seen on other games before. Now that I have played GW2 for a decent amount of time, I see these terms come up more often. Can anyone help explain what these mean?
Bunker (see it used with ele and warriors)
Blink (not sure what profession)
Vertical/horizontal progression
PBAoE (something area of effect?)
Thanks in advance for the help!
I’m also a thief. If you want to upgrade your gear, I personally did it about every 10 levels for armor/weapons. I would go with blue items since they are cheap, but green would be great when it’s affordable. At level 80, my gear is green and above, with my weapons (including aquatic) being rare.
I’d say at level +65 you should start considering rares.
Quick brief update:
BG: 10,412 +195
SBI: 9,590 +245
JQ: 9,473 +255
When I started playing, my goals were to get 100% completion on my starter zone. That took up a good amount of time. There’s also a nice reward at the end when you do. If you go this route and complete your starter zone, you can hop to a level +15 zone or another race’s starter zone and repeat.
One thing I picked up as a beginner is to sell junk to vendors. There’s a button for it at the lower corner. Also, deposit all your collectables in your inventory. There’s a button in the inventory window to do this. Inventory space usually gets filled quickly during play time.
I agree with some other posts that the event needs to be tweaked and suggest that the event be brought down a tiny tiny bit. If one things needs to change, it would be at least 2 extra seconds before being downed by the AOE. I don’t mind being hit and then burning for a good deal of damage for those 2 seconds, compared to being nearly instantly downed if it appears.
Even though I, like many others, don’t always get a rare from the chest, I continue to do these dragon events. To me, they are fun and I see familiar faces time and time again. I don’t deck out in full MF gear and I’m far from being wealthy in-game, but I still enjoy the dragons and the loot.
I’m fairly new to the area, and I came across the meta event “The Campaign Against Taidha Covington”. I’ve been standing at Laughing Gull Island for about 20 minutes and I haven’t seen any progress or changes. I just want to experience this event but I don’t know how to start it off.
Is there a DE I have to complete first? Is it broken? Any help is appreciated.
