For traps, the traited cool down reduction is working for me (30 sec to 24 seconds).
Jon, any explanation on the ranger trap nerf?
The patch notes stated they buffed the proc rate on spirits, but did they change the internal cool downs on the procs at all? I think I remember reading here that some had about a 10sec internal cool down.
Edit: Nevermind checked in game, there is a 10 second cool down on all of the procs. What is the point of having a 50% chance to proc if it can only happen every 10 seconds?

1.) No fixes for main hand sword? Really? This has been a bug for how long? This was a bigger issue for most people than the harpoon gun.
2.) Yes spirits have a higher proc rate, but do they still have the cool downs?
3.) What happened with signets?
4.) there are only 14 bullet points, so anyone want to guess what was dropped?
they really need to work on their communication skills.. you don’t release that kind of information and then just let it marinate without any explanations
Agreed. Anet doesn’t seem to be very open to talking about any changes they are making to the game either before they hit the live servers. Trust is earned, and that means the customers need to trust that Anet will be making changes to the product that they paid for that will be to their benefit.
Take class balance for instance. All we have for the Nov. 15th patch is some numbers on how many changes there are but nothing about what those changes are or how much they are changing. So there is no way for the player base to respond to those changes for better or for worse. There is no public test server for players to test out changes and see how they work. Just trusting that Anet knows what they are doing.
These changes with the new armor system should have been addressed in a dev blog or post before hand, and not after the fact. The news sites didn’t pull that information out of no where, and a better PR plan might have saved them some face.
I say wait and see what they say first before grabbing the pitchforks.
I do wonder how long these changes were in planning how ever. Since there isn’t a sub, I am guessing they wouldn’t be doing unsubing surveys. So I wonder where along the line they decided to make the change.
-Spirit effect chance reduced to 15% base.
-Greatsword and longbow damage reduced by 5%
-Pet AI “improved”
Playing a ranger in GW2 means I miss my ranger from GW1. They took out all of the complexity of the different bows and using height for an advantage. They took out all of the cool spirits, and weighting its advantage for your team over the advantage it gave your enemies your opponents. They took away all of the elemental damage types and armor selection. They also took away being able to grow your pet the way you wanted to.
But hey, we got a big open world and dynamic events in this game, so it was worth it, right?
Don’t forget you have a leap finishers (3) and 1 projectile finisher (4) for comboing with your fire and ice traps, which give you fire and frozen auras.
Agreed. DEs were one of the big draws of the game but too often I keep running across bugged events. The bigger thing that bothers me though is patches breaking events and skill point challenges that were working before.
To be honest, I have found crafting to be a gold sink mostly, so I skip it and just sell the mats I find.
I believe movement speed buffs do not stack, instead it just takes the highest or largest buff and uses that.
I would like to see elk or deer pets.
1.) Is this trait working as intended? I did a quick test just looking at the numbers popping up, and they seemed to go from 300s to 200s. I did read somewhere though that it popped protection for 5s. Is there still a duration on the skill or does it work no matter how long you are under 25% health?
2.) Looking around, I haven’t seen this trait used much. Is there a reason for that?
Thanks for the help!
