There shouldn’t be cool downs on any profession, everything should be similar to the thief where you have a bar of “power” that depletes as you use a skill and refills over time like the endurance bar. Then you could increase the speed of recharge or decrease the amount of “power” needed for skills with traits, runes, sigils and food etc. Stronger skills would use more “power” etc. This way it makes combat more about skill and strategy than timing.
I know its not GW1, but I have to say coming from that to this is a little sad in build creation. I can’t think of too many games that have as small amount of skills as this one.
Rather then just complaining I’ll add what I think would be good additions to the game.
First and the largest would be a solid pool of weapon only skills with the removal of #1 being our base attack. Honestly why would I want my most basic of auto attacks in a slot in my skill bar. For all weapons skills 1-5 should be select-able from a small pool of skills for that weapon only.
In the case of the ele the same but still select-able for each element. I mean when playing GW1 as an ele if I wanted to be dumb enough to play nuke heavy skills with large cool downs I could. I should be able to do the same now.
I guess I could give many examples but I think everyone gets the point. A bar of 5 skills I can’t control, and 5 I can is weak!
MAKE A POOL OF WEAPON SKILLS AT LEAST PLEASE!
Totally agree re: weapon 1 skill being on the skill bar, It’s a weapon, you should have a standard attack and all the skills on the skill bar should be extra
There needs to be more dynamic events, enough where they are super repetitive.
If I have a level 80 that has been all over the map, any alt I make should have the parts of the map discovered that my level 80 has discovered. I’m not saying have the waypoint/POI/skill/hearts completed, but just make it so our alts
can see the discovered areas. This way we can see what we spent so much time discovering already.
I’m sure that every player that has been playing GW2 for a while says to themselves “Wow, when I first started my journey in Tyria I would look around and marvel in the beauty of world around me. I wish I had a reason other than nostalgia to revisit these amazing early game areas.”
I have some suggestions:
- There needs to be more renown heart missions popping up all the time all over each area. and NPCs that offer them should walk around, changing location. This will make it so areas never feel like “levels” and more like real places. We don’t “complete” real world cities and towns, why should we in GW2? This is a huge thing that will get people back to areas on intrigue alone. Not only that, it adds way more incentive to create new characters because we wont feel like we’ve “done all this before”.
- There should be solo bounty hunting missions. I shouldn’t have to wait for my guild or even have one to do bounties. I should be able to look at a bounty board in Lions Arch and go after a baddy.
- Prices and goods should be better for my race in my races home town. If I’m Asura, I should have some incentive to head back to Rata Sum.
- Players should receive boons while in their races starting areas. If I’m Sylvari, I should get swiftness or ageis or get more XP while doing things in Caldeon Forest.
I’m sure I’m not alone here
I can confirm this.
