Greetings,
I’ve recently leveled my ranger to 80 and acquired the elite Druid specialization. I will mostly be focused on PvP in all of it’s forms since this game offers more than just your typical PvP brawling, that would mean WvW, Conquests and whatever else is there.
I’d like to know if there are any of you other there that would be so kind as to sharing your builds with me and others. I’m not necessarily looking for “META” builds, I’m looking for viable builds that have been tested by you. I am currently testing a few builds as I get familiar with the PvP scene of this game and more specifically I’m testing out the condi builds. For some reason I like the idea of condition builds over power builds but I am open to try whatever you may suggest even if it is a power build.
With that being said, I thank you in advance my fellow rangers/druids and hope to see lots of suggestions.
Cheerio!
Salutations ladies and gents,
I have been playing the game for a few months now, I have leveled (what seemed to be from what I gathered here and there) one of the “hardest or annoying” professions to level, Mesmer, which I actually enjoyed very much. With that being said, I am interested in making one of the heavy armor professions and I was mostly interested in Guardian/Dragonhunter. I just want to know how does this specific profession fairs compared to the two other heavy armor wearers. I will be looking to do a balance of every mode in the game, meaning a bit of PvE and PvP here and there. I am not only looking for a PvP or only a PvE comparison.
Also, since I still have the level 80 boost would you suggest to boost the Guardian. I understand that leveling the old fashioned way helps understand the profession better. However, the learning curves are never an issue for me when I try something new. I have leveled other professions so I have an understanding of how things work and I am planing to go back to the lower zones to explore and do the map completion stuff even if I boost to 80.
Your opinions are appreciated and I thank you in advance, cheers!
Hey all, I’m a fairly new player to the game. Having played other MMOs I believe I can handle myself pretty well and I do have a fairly good understanding for this game so far. I was looking at the engineer since it appears to be one of the most “active” play style professions in the game since I don’t necessarily like the “brain dead” game play of pressing a button or two to complete my task. After looking around on the forums and other sites, I found many different views with nothing really concrete as a conclusion. Therefore, I was wondering how does Engineer fair in the PvE scene at the moment? In hopes someone can shed some light on this question. Is the profession not needed in group play as some have said because other professions can do everything it can better? Is it one of the top condi damage which should guarantee a spot for long fights or in case there is no other condi build toons in the group?
Thanks for your time guys, I think I’ll go with the good old classic way and level up.
I appreciate the tips as well.
I personally would never boost anything, but I like to enjoy games rather than just blow past the content.
Just ask yourself if you want to take your time with the game or if leveling and exploring is boring you. Do you want to get right to raids and WvW? Use the boost.
I do not exactly mind the leveling, I will probably make him/her something else than human just so I can start in a different zone. However, my question was mainly because I’ve recently leveled another toon but I see what you mean. Thank you for the quick reply.
It’s not an amazingly hard class to play acceptably at 80, but I’d encourage you to just level for one reason: you will do the same content either way, when it comes to doing world completion.
So why not take advantage of it to just casually level up, and learn a bit along the way? Especially once you get to 50-ish, the enemies will start to show you some of what you will face when you step into HoT and the new living story, which is … more skill requiring.
I certainly found that coming from heroic ^W mystic raiding in WoW, HoT was still a bit of a learning curve, just because it’s different enough combat mechanics.
Thank you for your quick reply, you do make a valid point.
Hello all!
New player to the game here (not to MMOs, I don’t know why I’m specifying that but just so you know I guess)
My questions should be rather simple….
To level a Ranger or to simply boost it to 80?
I still have my level 80 boost since I did not use it on my other toon (mesmer for those wondering)
I’m not looking for a detailed answer, I am also aware that boosting does not necessarily help me understand the class and have the feel for it. It also does not help in terms of learning or understand all the skill and when to use them but I’m willing to take the time at max level to learn what needs to go where, when and how.
So answer away please!
Thank you in advance.
PS. I will 99% of the time be playing solo and some PvP (any and all modes of it)
