Can confirm that glue and embroidered silk come from trader 4 – our guild recently got that upgrade. However, we still have never seen bags of mortar.
My guild is also having this issue. We have all restarted our client multiple times. In addition, we cannot access any other guilds we belong to, although instead of that message, we simply aren’t offered the button to enter the guild hall.
I would settle for something along the lines of a commander marking allied siege for removal. Then 10 or so unique players need to interact once to vote/dismantle it.
Exhaustion is not only bad for commanders who throw down siege, but also sentries whose job it is to siege up an objective.
The less drama, the better. When a troll realizes he is not only ineffective but people quietly carry on despite their best efforts, he’ll crawl back under his bridge.
1. Rangers
2. Mesmer
3. Elementalist
I remember loving my ranger back in the day. She was in my top 3 for enjoyment. Months later, I can’t remember the last time I played mine.
I would be happy with mesmers if their skills just worked properly.
I’m not unhappy with elementalist, but of the other classes I think it could use a little polish, particularly in damage output – it feels a little lackluster.
I’d really like a way to filter or sort on repping status. Right now actively repping members are mixed in with active but non-repping folks.
I love the ability to have ‘allied’ guilds handy to help each other out with missions or events, I would just prefer less clutter in the roster :-D
After a year of playing I already had at least one of each class at 80 (yeah I have two of some classes, I’m kind of weird). The point is, I’m kind of done leveling toons, so with the birthday gifts and AP, I currently have 5 of these scrolls. It would be cool if they could be traded in for skill points or maybe 1 free level for any level character like the boosts you get from BL chests.
But I did really like the birthday booster, so I don’t feel cheated :-D
I liked the new Tequatl fight for a variety of reasons and would like the opportunity to do it again. I noticed, though, the last few times I’ve been wandering around Swampfly, the area is now a ghost town. I seldom see many players on that map even during prime time (I’m on TC).
I think part of the problem is that unlike the other big world events, there is no pre-event to signal that it’s about to start. With the event itself having a very tight time limit, there just isn’t time to muster guildies, let alone map into LA and let people know help is needed. This is one of the things I appreciate about the other big events, I can be chilling in LA and see a call out and go join in.
This is particularly crucial for Teq since we know he needs a coordinated group of 80 or so. Having no time to muster or organize pretty much guarantees he’ll never be done again.
Agreed. I am loving the new influx of town clothes and I will probably have to buy more storage space because of it, but would absolutely worship more dignified gear for my gals. I still bought them for my guys, but was kinda shocked when I previewed them on my gals.
Also, gowns? Man I would kill (or buy a lot of gems) for some of the gorgeous dresses I see on town folk.
Rising, it’s great that this does not impact you.
For those of us who have cross-region alliances carried over from GW1 where this kind of social mode was a given, it is a big disappointment.
Since the game opened all of the guilds in our old alliances have put down roots and are growing and thriving. Now we have members who have never met our old cross-region friends, many never played GW1. Is it fair to ask them to uproot from a server where they are happy and selfishly insist they go to the one where our friends are?
For the good of our guilds we’re now staying put. Had we known this from the beginning, we would not have split like this.
While this is great news, my old GW1 alliance was counting on cross-region guesting with roughly half of our alliance being Euros and the rest being Oceanic/NA. The schism this has caused with us being on two different regional servers has been painful and we’ve been quietly waiting for the day when we would finally get to play together again.
Is there any plan to change this in future?
Dear Anet,
It’s been a great seven years and I don’t feel cheated for the money I spent on multiple copies of CE I purchased for myself and loved ones or the pay-day treats of gems. Halloween – now THAT was content that made me eager for the good things to come.
I had hoped this game would keep me engaged for many years, as GW1 did. But no MMO has been able to convince me that gear grind is content, or that gated content is fun or enjoyable. Gear grind is laziness at best. I trusted you to hold firm to your convictions and follow your manifesto.
The fact that Lindsey breathlessly champions that this is but the first in a planned series of such updates is enough for me to see the direction things are going. It’s not a train I’m interested in boarding and that’s fine. Plenty of other trains around.
I imagine from here on out I’ll just enjoy my novelty chat client. I have no problem with just using bandwidth and contributing nothing, I’ve paid my dues and the game is free, right?
I want to be wrong, I wish I felt like I was misunderstanding what I was seeing, but the images and explanation make it all too clear that this was not the game I originally signed up for. If I wanted this kind of game experience, I would still be playing Aion or Lotro where I’ve seen these kinds of decisions play out and damage or fragment the community.
I respect that you have to run a business and you must have data that tells you this is the right thing to do. But, as a customer, I am not interested in this kind of game and will no longer make purchases in the gem shop or this franchise.
Thank you and best wishes.
I’m with Cracked on this one. Adding my voice to the ‘oh no they didn’t’ column. Loved the lack of gear grind in GW1, was one of the best things about it. I trust Anet and hope this is handled appropriately, but I’m mildly concerned and keeping an eye on it.
I love this shot – it’s a rag-tag group of alts with our guild leader standing heroically in front while the rest of us strike heroic battle-ready poses after offing the Mad King. Good memories and lots of laughs. Thanks, Anet, you out-did yourselves again.

I would even settle for a confirmation step – I thought I was the only one who had made costly mistakes like this in preview and gotten burned, but after something similar happened to me, it seems everyone I know in game has been burned this way.
