I do see what you’re saying, and you’re right, it’s my fault for cursing. Let’s be logical here though, when I say kitten…what happens here? Why can’t they just do that in game chat? If you don’t want somebody to shoot someone, why would you put the gun in his hand? By this I mean, why don’t they just remove cursing all together? Boom, every problem has just been solved. Kind of silly if you ask me.
Nobody put a gun in your hand because you decided to curse. You loaded and fired it yourself. Just because I’m wearing a bullet proof vest doesn’t give you the right to shoot at me.
It isn’t the fault of Anet that you didn’t read the ToS and Code of Conduct. However by logging in and playing you had to click the agree to terms button therefore you agreed not to use adult language in game, language filter or not.
Looks like you got a temp ban so just ride it out and consider it a lesson learned. Don’t curse in chat, you will have no more problems with being banned for cursing. Seems pretty simple to me.
You’re completely missing the point, if they don’t want it then they can get rid of it themselves. Simple as that, but I do agree with what someone else said I don’t think it’s the cussing as much as it is the abusing other players, which is completely understandable. I for one don’t get offended when people cuss, or criticize me to the point of feeling the need to taddle. I grew out of that when I was about 4 years old lol. I guess I’m just used to the internet and online games. I know how people roll so it’s nothing new or anything to get kitten about. If it was over a chat issue I don’t see why they wouldn’t just perma mute me from map chat. I’ll give them credit for one thing, even though they are losing players they still aren’t scared to ban the few that they have left. I don’t mean that sarcastically either, it’s good they aren’t scared to stand up for what they feel is right even if they have to ban every last player. Thanks for the replies guys! I’ll just wait it out.

The language filter is not meant to provide a license to curse. It is meant to limit the cursing and other banned words the filter user sees when someone breaks ToS and curses. Many players don’t have it on because they don’t know about it i.e. newbies. Due to this you will still get reported. Additionally there are probably a lot of people with it off just because they want to report people. Also the GMs pop in time to time as well.
In game cursing is a violation of ToS no matter what. Simple solution don’t curse in chat..

It’s because arenanet sucks, and think they are untouchable…They will learn fast.
But they won’t and years from now we’ll still be enjoying the game while you’re wasting time hoping that hundreds of people are out of a job because you don’t enjoy a game.

I still enjoy the game very much. Sadly, there aren’t much of us that feel this way anymore. The game isn’t even a year old and it’s already lost a lot of players, people can lie to themselves all they want buy they know it’s true. I hope Guild Wars survives for a looooong time, just not looking very promising atm because people are already getting bored. I could make a new toon and be level 80 max gear in ONE DAY. that is a joke, an absolute joke. You’re probably one of those people that wanna get to 80, get your exotics/worthless legendary and call it a day and play that for 5 years. If you call that fun then that’s fine, but you’re the minority. I know people are going to get offended because for some reason trying to improve a game you like is a sin for the GW community. I just want to say I’m not trying to bash GW at all, I love the game. They just need to change some things if they want to survive like (oh god forbid you say this name) WoW has.
That is probably it…I do have a potty mouth sometimes lol. I wonder why they would have a profanity filter though if they aren’t gonna use it…If that is the case, if I put my filter on will that also filter out my cusswords, or only other people? I hope it filters mine out also so I don’t have to get banned again :b
just like the topic says, is there a way to see why you got banned? I didn’t get an email or anything? It’s only for 72 hours though so I’m not really too worried about it, just wondering.
Hello all! [SyN] is a relatively new guild but we are growing fast. Currently have 65 members (about 15-25 online during peak hours) after only a couple weeks of existence. We have already started Guild Bounty Training and we are hoping Guild Missions are right around the corner! We just need more active members so that we can expand even faster and hopefully be a top guild on the Darkhaven server for years to come!
We are looking for active members who are willing to learn and also willing to teach if the lower levels need help. We want everyone to have fun and not feel left out.
The core members of this guild are very good friends and very helpful towards new players, there is no level requirement, though we are a PvE guild for the most part and focus mainly on dungeons and Fractals Of The Mist. You know what I love? Spending 2 hours fighting through a dungeon just to have someone d/c on final boss making it all for nothing. Anet needs to do something about that…just cause the “host” or whatever you wanna call it leaves doesn’t mean everyone should have to.
Yes! I feel pretty dumb now because there isn’t any snow and it definitely wasn’t “part two” to tribulation haha, I guess that’s what I get for staying up til 4 doing jumping puzzles half asleep o.O but you are right it is the Antre of Adjournment one. Thank you so much!
ok, so I wasn’t sure where to post this so I’ll just post it here. I have something that has been bothering me now all day. I was helping my girlfriend complete dredgehaunt cliffs earlier, and I showed her the jumping puzzle in tribulation caverns. Now, I already did this puzzle a couple weeks ago, and I could have sworn that there was actually 2 parts to it. I remember something like jumping up into the ceiling after you finished the first part and finding multiple small chest along the way to the giant chest that were called “(insert name here’s) loot” I believe. I remember, once you got above the ceiling you had to be careful of holes or else you would fall through and end up back at the bottom (happened to me a couple times) where there was water so you didn’t die. At the top of this puzzle was a big chest, I want to say it was a magnificent chest but who knows. It looked like the ones the dragons drop. I did this puzzle today and couldn’t find this second part I’m talking about. Now I’m starting to wonder if I just got two puzzles mixed together. I don’t even think it was an actualy “jumping puzzle” that you get an achievement for, but I could be wrong. I know it was a snow themed puzzle like tribulation caverns was. Any ideas what puzzle I am talking about? This is really bothering me.
Do you guys think it could maybe actually be downloading just not saying it is? when I cntl alt delete it says it is “running” but when I hit end task it says it is not responding and I have to force shut it down. Even when I restart my computer and try to uninstall it gives me an error report.
I’m no expert, but I can almost promise you a better graphics card would help a lot.
Ok, so last night I was playing Guild Wars 2 and my computer shuts down. Try restarting it and to make a long story short my computer wouldn’t start and my graphics card was lighting on fire everytime I would try and start it. Take out my graphics card, try running my computer and everything seems fine…except when I try to run GW2 it only comes up as 0kb downloaded 0kb/sec page and just freezes there. I can’t exit out, can’t do anything except cntrl + alt + delete and end the process. I tried to uninstall and reinstall but it won’t let me uninstall it. It gives me an error and to report it to arena or says to wait until the program is done running or changing before unistalling. I thought at this point maybe my HDD was messed up because it wouldn’t let me uninstall any games (new computer I just built I only have GW2 LoL and WoW on it) but I couldn’t run any games or uninstall them. I did a system recovery and got my system back to factory settings, bought a new Graphics card and started installing all the drivers. I went to GW2 and started downloading the client again (it was working) but I exited out of the download halfway through to restart my computer…Now when I click on the shortcut or try to re run the setup I have the same issue. Just sits at the 0kb/sec page and I can’t do anything, even uninstalling isn’t working again. What do you guys think the problem is? I should also add I don’t want to have to do system recovery again just to uninstall one program. I already tried turning off firewall and running as administrator, no luck.
