Hi guys, I need some advice here.
First of all, I have been playing Gw2 everyday without fail.
Secondly, just about 2-3 hours ago, I received an in-game mail from this player/user name Likyou
The message goes like this: (I quote but I will edit partially to hide my account ID)
“We are sorry to inform you that your login account <my account id goes here> will be shut down or partially limited within 72 hours due to currency transactions or abnormal login. If you want to remove restrictions, please click the following link to validate:
<removed link>
Please keep in mind that Guild Wars 2 is a global game with hundreds of thousands of players. This means that standards of behavior must be upheld
GM Tolkiet"
and at the bottom has this Note: This message was sent by another player. It was not sent by the Guild Wars 2 Team.
I can safely ignore this and continue to play GW2 as usual right?

Hi guys,
I encountered an issue whereby my PvP Reward Tracks for The Ruined City of Arah Dungeon Track just got stucked at 55% at Tier 5.
I’ve played at least 4 maps and realized that despite I’m getting Rank Points, but they aren’t adding to my Reward Track.
I’m playing normal PvP maps.
The defeat karka queen is a big meta event whereby:
1. Hold the 4 settlements for a while
2. Wait for queen to appear
3. Kill queen within 15 min
If fail to kill queen within 15 min, she runs off, the settlements under attack by karkas.
Repeat the 1 – 3.
I’ve faced skill lag in Lunatic Inquisition map.
I also faced a point whereby I couldn’t even activate any of my lunatic skills while being a ghost to chase and hunt down the villagers.
The villagers were wondering what the hell is wrong with this ghost who just move around and not using any skills.
Pressing the keys (1 to 0) and using mouse clicks on skill do not work.
I ended up have to re-login to the same character to get the keys working.
Is this really a skill lag??
Copy/Pasted from another thread.
After playing this game for over a year I would like to give an example of what I believe a true living world should be.
First and foremost it NEEDS REAL consequences for failure. If you have centaurs taking over a town when you fail, why must they end there? If given long enough the centaurs can and should take the whole kitten map, enslaving and forcing the npc’s within the areas to be hostile to the PC’s (similar to a flipped keep in WvW). Waypoints, once the map is taken, should all be contested, making the trip to that map impossible save for entering through a nearby map. And why stop there, if the centaurs form an alliance with the dredge they could start controlling even more of the maps. If however they are at odds with the dredge we could form a temporary alliance with one side to defeat the other or at very least see then openly at war with one another.
Large scale invasions like scarlet should be epic in scope (destroying maps/npcs) until rebuilt/defended by the PCs for an extended length of time. Supply runs similar to what we see in Cursed Shore would be a good start, but much more widespread. IF these rebuild actions are not taken by the PCs then they should just lay there rotting (needing more supply runs in the process to repair) until they are done!
I guess my whole point to this post is that without real meaningful consequences we may as well be furniture. Devs please take a page from the way some things in WvW are handled; leaving WvW to the enemies will leave you having to ACTUALLY WORK to regain your ground, and IMO it should be the same in the PvE world. Until it is done in a way that we can and do get hooped for letting things fail, we are no better than bystanders in your game.
Added after concern was posted in regards to day/night cycle and defeat
The day/night cycle would indeed be a pest, however with the extent of data anet gathers it could be handled IMO. For instance they could adjust the events to “fire” only when the server in question has the population to handle the events. The logic behind this could be the enemies have to sleep sometime too. Unlike in WvW where we the players run the show, in PvE it could be made to more suit the population that is in the current area/world.
Also as to the ressing npcs, it could be implemented as you progress into the map. As you free villages/npc’s their militia (a few npc fighters) would come with you to capture the next town and so forth. These npcs should rez the fallen similar to the veterans around the keeps in WvW. As waypoints are uncovered they should become uncontested etc etc.
I’m not saying that there are not many many things to consider with making a living world that would feel alive, but it would be nice if it were to feel less like trying to breath life into a corpse.
Thanks for reading and for opening this topic for your players!
Agreed with you.
But then, do you notice that in Southsun Cove, the Karkas have taken over the map until the players (in large numbers) have to work to take back those camps?
Well, that’s the only map in the game that do that, sadly not for low level areas.
Why?
Because if low level areas have not many players to defend towns against any mobs (say like Centaurs), then the newbies who just join in to Queensdale would be taken by surprise that such low level area/maps are so hard for them to level up and get skill points.
I think that some of the previous living world stories/quests/events should be allowed to be repeated by players who missed them.
Just like how we can reply missions maps in GW1 to re-tell the stories.
I find that GW2 has no replayability in personal stories after you have completed them once per character.
Should this replayability is brought in for personal stories, then the reward should be scale down a bit (e.g. 1st time doing it would reward a black lion key, but subsequent repeating it should reward a bag that stand a chance to get the black lion key).
We should have:
1. See how many people are queuing up for each borderland
2. Where are you right now in the queue for the borderland
3. See the total number of players in a World server
4. To know which overflow you are in when compared with your other party members in other overflow map (something like America server1, America server2 back in GW1)
Bring on the free for all game mode whereby the players are placed on an arena and have to kill each other off.
Player with the highest kill count (say 50) wins the round.
Not a bug but it is a short cut, that’s all.
It’s been like that since release.
Hey guys,
Today I did the World 1 Zone 3 in Infantile mode and I am 100% sure that I got all the baubles by following the guide from youtube
and I didn’t get the achievement Master of Baubles, World 1.
I did it another time to confirm that I didn’t miss any baubles and even on my second run, I still didn’t get the achievement!?
Is it a bug?
What is the actual criteria to get the achievement? I got all the baubles man…
Haha… I foreseen that recipes would run out / almost run out of stock in BLTC. I got all of them… but then the armor recipes, especially the torso ones…. are more expensive and harder to get!
I’m foreseeing that there could be more unlimited salvage kits coming in… like the name could be Silver-Fed Salvage-o-Matic and Gold-Fed Salvage-o-Matic that you need to spend 2 silvers and 1 gold respectively to use to recover the rarer materials and upgrades, with higher percentage of success.
Or they might introduce the remaining unlimited salvage kit based on the current available tiers of normal salvage kits that we have but different amount of percentage of recovering rarer materials and upgrades, and each would spend more coppers per usage.
We never know… but look forward to Gem Store!
Hi guys,
I’m still new to these Ascended stuff and upgrading it to make it to have +5 Agony Resistance.
Question, if I have a regular Ascended ring, and added Versatile Simple Infusion to the slot, then (at very very future time) I upgraded this ring to the infused version, will the slot become empty?
Or will the upgrade cannot take place at all?
Thanks.
No a good idea imo. Why?
It would need to change your personal storyline, your homeinstance, and etc.
But if you suggest to have gender swapping or cosmestic change like back in GW1, then it is a good suggestion.
Getting rare skins to make your characters look cool and awesome in game… well fun for some people, but not to some people as well… not important to me.
If those people who QQ on not able to get exotics & rare skins like mad king armors from 10+++++ runs after 1hr++++++ of gameplay… do you find it fun??
Even if you have obtained the rare skins, store them in your bank slots, bagpack slots or where ever you can keep them… what you gonna do? just keep as trophy for remembrance??
So, confirmed 9:00 PDT… 12am for me on 1st Nov… c r a p!!!
but stay awake for this to get achievement!!!
overall, event is satisfied for me (got one mad king armor! soulbound it ^__^ ) but only if the mad king tower jumping puzzle can be set for solo instance rather than with other players…
also, the free devil horn can’t seem to be obtainable for me… bought with 0 gems, not found anywhere… but i got the Anet cap at the beginning of the game launched… so what’s wrong?
also, i find that costumes purchased from gem stores is only for the current logged in character is really not friendly to players unlike Guild Wars 1 which is an account wide costumes…. sigh
People who complain about not able to get exotic… please, it is just a game.
It’s not going to make a big difference in your real world life unless you make it so personal.
Again, a computer game (like Guild Wars 2), it is about math, probability and statistics.
I’m glad I got one exotic from chest (Labrinyth) not MK dgn. But I was lucky and unlucky in both places then.
QQ ppl should tone it down a bit. It’s just a game, and I’m sure you would feel proud too if you swap places with those who are lucky…. but I’ll just stop here.
Happy gaming guys!
imho, I think it is all about random, probability, statistics… some can call it luck.
Some are lucky, while some aren’t.
If everyone gets an exotic at every run, Trading Post will have too many exotic that nothing is so spectacular about exotic anymore!
I think those greens, rare and exotic that you get from the chest at the end of the MK dungeon, the level of the items are based on your character level.
E.g. lvl 80 characters usually get items level 70-80 of Masterworks or better; whereas lvl 20 – 25 characters usually get items not greater than level 60 of Masterworks or better.
This happened with my one level 80 ele and the other alt are level 20++. So there’s a pattern actually.
Whether using consumables that boost MF% affects the chest drops, this is not confirmed.
I believe all the drops are random and, you can consider it lucky/unlucky.
My case, 4 character runs (once so far), out of 4, 3 of the got 3 Masterworks, and one was rather unlucky, an unidentified dye and something misserable, not weapon/armor.
