LFG Abuse -> Raid polluted with adverts

Thank you for those quotes. Makes sense though, if every guild was recruiting in LFG then LFG would grind to a halt in terms of legitimate posts.

Sure that could be argued but that pollutes LFG and at the very least is still LFG abuse if posted in the wrong category. Adding a guild recruitment category would make more sense…

Do you happen to have a link to that statement about guild advertising being LFG abuse? Would be nice to have it for everyone to see.

Currently looking at the Raid LFG 60% of posts are spam… This has got to be fixed.

I main theif… when i join a group for end-game content in PvE people generally ask for anything but theif because they consider it underpowered…

I personally like where theifs are at the moment. They can be plenty challenging to play and winning/losing in most circumstances come down to how perfectly you can time everything. If you can’t beat a theif then try playing one. You’ll quickly realize the many weaknesses that we have. Mainly any CC and you can be bursted down instantly.

@Fluffy there are no rules against selling raids and that wasn’t at all what my complaint was about.
“Our policy: Players may use the LFG Tool only for the formation of a group.”
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/gw2/Policy-on-the-LFG-Tool/first

The problem are people using Raid LFG to either recruit for guilds like [raid] with no intention of actually running a raid with said LFG or people who park alt accounts to promote websites which then sell raids. These websites may or may not adhere to anet’s policy (buying raid in gold is ok, in $ is not) but they do pose a security threat to people who follow said link to be met with adware/malware portals.

Edit: Seera beat me to it XD

I do my 3 dailies at every reset, I never touch any HoT content to do them.

I send in about 10 reports a day… It’s getting ridiculous.

Can we please have something done about:

1) LFGs which advertise websites which then advertise selling groups with no intentions of immediately forming a groups (not to mention the questionable safety of some of these “short links” which bring you through a wall of spam/adds before sending you to your final destination)

2) LFGs on alts that are parked there with a “/w another character”, these again are usually advertising selling groups with no intention of actually starting a group

3) LFGs advertising for guilds which do raids, again with “/w someone else” without any intention of doing a raid.

It’s rather inconvenient during busy time when looking for a raid group and having 10+ of these polluting the raid LFG category with legit LFG posts usually looking for 1-2 more and lasting less than 30 sec.

Can we either get people kicked off the LFG for posting adverts that don’t lead to an immediate group or can we at least have a “sales” category for these people to park their adds in?

Memory Leak (reaching 10GB+)

Back when using the 32bit GW2 client I used to always have a slow memory leak which would cause the program to crash once it reached the 32bit addressing limit. Ever since I’ve installed the 64bit client this same memory leak still exists only without the 32bit memory limit. Instead, GW2 eats up my 8 GB of physical ram and then happily eats up my 10GB swap on an SSD. The memory leak does seem to be directly correlated to players coming into vision. This is most pronounced at world bosses, meta events or WvW maps.

Restarting the client solves the problem however this completely destroys the gaming experience when you’re farming a map and loose all the map bonuses or when you’re on WvW with a large queue.

Hard system crash while playing

I’ve had a simmilar issue before and it turned out to be thermal throttling. Check your CPU and GPU temps while playing. Some driver versions had issues and it’s especially common on laptops. If either CPU or GPU makes it into 90+c even if it’s for a fraction of a second then this is likely a contributing factor.

Did anyone else lose items after the crazy lag we had today? I transferred some items from one character to another using the bank once i was finally able to get back on but now the items in question randomly disappeared after attempting to take it out of the bank again. I lost 20 petrified wood and they aren’t on any of my characters now.
