I have this same problem. I could play fine a few days ago. I hadn’t had a chance to log in till today, but upon trying, I am stuck at 0KB and 0KB/s at Downloading.
Disabled my Firewall to no avail.
Edit: I can’t even shut down the launcher; I have to open the Task manager to do it.
Airala, if you notice in the BWE screenshots, the upper portion of the sky is a pitch black. This seems to have been scrapped from the LA night skybox. Unless I have REALLY poor timing, I have spent whole nights in LA I think.
It’s interesting and disappointing if they changed this. I also wonder why, if it was a change.
Like DusK, I think it’s an odd thing for them to change. Which is why I thought it had to do with my graphical settings (I’m running most things at medium).
Very trivial issue but I’m genuinely curious about what happened to LA’s night skybox. In the BWEs, the night sky was very dark, and stars twinkled in the sky as you can see here:

In the live game, this is the darkest I have seen the sky go to:

Is it something to do with my hardware? If not, then why was it changed?
@MolotovkittentailParty: Nope.
It’s not British vs. American pronunciation; click on the US flag:

(I was wrong about “golem” though).
The voice acting, and by extension sound direction, is definitely one of the weaker aspects of the game. To add to your correct observation regarding “quay”, “Centaur” is pronounced “Cen-tore” not “cen-tar” and “Golem” is “Go-lehm” not “Gollum”.
Not a dealbreaker but cringe-worthy for sure.
I didn’t leave Queensdale until level 23 on my Guardian. I’m almost level 30 and at like 55% completion for Kessex Hills. A guildie of mine didn’t leave Queensdale till level 32.
Just providing the other end of the spectrum here for those readers who might read this and think that levelling is broken. It’s not.
Yes, some of the sound choices in this game are tacky and obnoxious. Unfortunate really!
