Guild Wars 2

This game makes me feel stupid. I’m just not getting it.
I went to the weapons station, there is nothing I can craft. I go into the world armed with my pick and gathering tools, run around looking for things I can mine.

My back is full. In my inventory I have Lumps of tin, which tells me I need ore to make ingots, I have ore.

I go to discovery, nothing there. So I can not make ingots.

I go back to production pane, mouse over hammer, I see the ingredients. Don’t know where to mine them but buy them from the trading post. Now I can make a hammer, but I already have the exact same hammer, so I don’t see the point.

I look at the links, first one he has tons of stuff, so he drags things here and there.
Second links, looks like recipes.

While online I’m asking for help with crafting, like, can somebody guide me with crafting.

Ok so no help there.

Really I have sat for a few days trying to figure this out but no luck.

I thank everyone who tried helping, but i’m done. Seriously I am done.

I was told, I cant do crafting until i hit lvl80. I guess I don’t need to worry doing crafting for awhile since i’m only 15.

this is not a step by step guide.

What i need is:

Step 1: go to this NPc
Step 2: click on this or get that.
Step three: Go find these items……………………………
Step four: go to crafting station open window, now click and drag………..

If nothing like this exist I understand

Can anyone please tell me where there is a step by step guide on how to do crafting.

hey phaseman, have you clicked the “m” key and looked at the map? its okay to be a noob I am one too! look for heart symbols to quest and try to focus on your main quest (the green bally starry thingy at the top right) and if you need to level up then go for the heart side quests.

Yes, this i worked thus far, basically doing quests I gain xp.

Here where i get totally lost, crafting, i cant work it out. Watched video, but people skip so many steps. As a biginner A tutorial should be step1, followed by step2. And this is just one thing I am having issues with, don’t get me start on PvP…..:)

I have weapons crafting ,I assume its to make better weapons.

There are so many thing you can do in this game besides running around do heart quests, but I just don’t know how.

I am really starting to think this game just isn’t for me. Its difficult finding things to read when my English is not my main language, most thing on GW2 are in English.

Anyway Rant over, will give it a few more days.

Phaseman, it sounds to me like you just need to find someone willing to spend an hour or so with you on a voice chat program like Mumble, Teamspeak or Ventrilo (think Skype but for games, runs in the background while you play so you can talk to team-mates) while playing that can explain things as you go along. I think that would be less frustrating for you and much quicker in showing you the ropes of mmo/online RPGs.

It’s not much to worry about. Everyone has been there at some point or another in some game.

I am probably the slowest guy on this planet, sad part I’m not joking.

Was in luck with my other MMORPG , friend got me to play and step by step showed me how things work.

What is crafting, how does one do crafting?

I see craft items, i mine rocks, chop trees for what?

I see upgrade slots on my armor, I assume they are for jewelry pieces, where do i get those?

Potions how do i get that?

Click on PvP did the training, go into a map, window open gives me three option, one is travel , i click travel and go nowhere, what should i do?

How do i get back to pve map?

Traits points?
Skill points?

I got a guild invite so i joined, how do join other guild, only by invite?

I discover things but no clue what i should do, it would be nice for guide i could read which tells me, this is how you do this, or that.

for now i am totally lost, losing interest fast.

I don’t wish to bug some one everytime i got a question.

That was a good link. I like the game, however do companies who make these just assume everybody knows what to do.

Wonder how many thru their hands in the air and gave up,.

New player, this is only my second online game i have ever tried. I am totally lost. Watch YT but mostly of people who know what they are doing, so no help there.

I try asking question while playing, but never get a reply, so no help there.

I read these forums, but its all over the place for me, so no help there.

Many will read this and go Man what a noob. Yes i’m a noob.

I play, get bored because i am running around killing stuff over and over again in the same zone.

Join a guild you say, I did, but the times i logon , no one there, so no help there.

Is there a user guide anywhere or do just have to work it out for yourself.

This is my last attempt learning GW2.

Does this mean it has a patch with every log in? I log in in the morning I have to download, afternoon I do the same thing again.

With each login I have to authenticate my email account. My in box is full from ArenaNet “Authorize log-in attempt”, I tick the box remember address but still.

Also, download 50, 60 mb before I can play, with not a fast connection it takes 10 minutes. Is this normal because its annoying if i want to play for 20 minutes before i head out.
