Easily the best guild hall idea I’ve seen posted, I love how everything’s really well-put and thought out!
I’m particularly fond of the GVG idea, since it gives people a reason to /want/ one of the things, outside of it just bein’ cool.
Leafy town clothes for the sylvari and spirit themed town clothes for the norn, for example, would be a great addition to the Gem Store IMO.
I’ve always wanted the outfits that some of the norn shaman and havroun wear. Y’know, the ones with the hats of their ‘totem’ animal? I’d kill for somethin’ like that.
Also, I’d LOVE to see ‘racial’ turrets and kits for engineers (even if it’d be PVE-only). I mean, the main reason I’ve yet to roll an asuran engie is because I love turret builds, but the clunky, metal things look so out of place for an asura, and we’ve already got asuran turret models in the game.
Important things to keep in mind for characters to get full potential:
- is a potential story possible to be made up?
- is there a capital city for them?
- does the capital city have potential for a race?
- do character models match?
- who is the potential enemy?
- how is the race effected by the dragons?<snip>
Tengu
- Unknown – Yes – Yes – Yes – Unknown – Unknown

The Tengu (Genzhou Talonrend, to be specific: http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Genzhou_Talonrend) actually mention that Destroyers are appearing on both sides of the wall separating the Dominion of Winds from the rest of Tyria, so there’s your dragon mention.
As for enemies, it could be one of the four houses, potentially going against the emperor’s wishes.
You do get upscaled. Did it on my lvl 35 guardian, died once towards the very end when a vet and his minions killed all the Npcs, but it wasn’t to bad over all. Probably wouldn’t try it less then level 10 though.
You do? Good to know! Thanks for the correction.
I’m going to try on my level 10 necro regardless. :P
You, sir, are a trooper. Hopefully you don’t die too horribly!
I’ve heard that Memorials on the Pyre doesn’t scale, unlike the other living story instances and content (Molten Facility, all of Southsun, Braham/Rox’s dungeons).
I was wondering if this was intentional or not?
EDIT: I’m apparently wrong, according to rfdarko’s post, you do scale! Hooray!

I’ll be genuinely surprised if the big holographic dragon doesn’t get replaced by a real one toward the end of the event.
Cantha was what originally got me into the series. I fell in love with the idea of the ritualist and the ancient mysticism involved with Cantha, as well as the stark contrast between Kaineng City and the rest of the region.
I’d love to see what’s happened since the Ministry of Purity took power and the isolationist and xenophobic tendencies broke out. I’d love to see what the Jade Sea looks like after the true death of Shiro Tagachi, assuming the effects of the Jade Wind are undone. I’d love to see what’s happened regarding the Kurzick and Luxon nations.
ArenaNet, you’ve given us a great, beautiful setting with Cantha, and your players would absolutely love to see it come back.
Speaking from a strictly roleplayer/social standpoint, I would love to have the guild limit increased. Right now (to my understanding) we can only join four or five guilds. As someone who likes keeping their RP dudes separate for the sake of narrative, it’d be nice to have a handful more to join.
I could see other reasons for this as well, assuming people would want to join smaller, more personal friend guilds, PVP and WvW ones, dungeon running ones, and maybe even just straight up social ones.
So, I’ve been meaning to roll an engineer and – because I love their aesthetic – I was going to roll asura.
However, I couldn’t bring myself to keep playing him. His turrets, being all steampunk/clockwork-y, looked weird.
I was wondering if we could get Asuran-themed (and maybe a few other races if they have their own ‘style’ of turret, sylvari comes to mind) skins for our turrets. I understand that ANet wants to keep everything looking the same for PVP, but it simply ‘turn off’ when you go to a structured PVP area (or maybe even the WvW zones).
I’d definitely be willing to drop some money for a permanent or toggle-able asura skin for my engineer’s turrets.
