Could someone please explain the purpose of the dialogue box that pops up with this message to me please?
It seems to have no other purpose than to prevent you from playing the game. As a user I just don’t care if the game can access the login server or not. Disconnect me, or don’t disconnect me, but stop popping up a useless window that does absolutely nothing other than ruin my game experience. The fact that I have to press “ok” on a window in the middle of my screen during a PvP game, only to have it pop up again immediately, is infuriating. Far more infuriating than just disconnecting.
Some of the infuriating might be showing in this post, for which I apologise, but really? Who thinks this is a good idea?
Good suggestions, and defines the problem fairly well. Add these maybe?
1) Have the mobs drop loot, with champion bags. It’s not like this will unbalance the economy given that Silver Wastes exists.
2)have individual events give XP, karma and a small money reward, like normal events. This won’t impress long time players, but it will help new players and ftp players to level up faster an encourage participation.
My personal impression is that this event is pure grind for very little reward. Unless you desperately want one of the (very few and seen before) skins on offer what is the motivation? Why should I want to play this? This is serious question, not a rant.
Disappointed
Possible solution (This worked for me)
Try setting your DNS server to Google in your network settings:
Right click “Network” > Open Network and Sharing Center > Change Adapter Settings
Right click “Local Area Connection” > Properties > Select “Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4)” > Properties
Select “Use the following DNS Server Addresses”
Preferred DNS: 8.8.8.8
Alternate DNS: 8.8.4.4
This solution does imply the the problem is ISP related although for me all 3 different ISPs I tried had the same problem which implies a deeper underlying issue for my loacl services I guess.
I did not come up with this solution, I found it and am trying to spread the good news

This has probably been suggested before.
It would be awesome to be able to “Ignore” advertised parties in the the list if they don’t meet your search criteria thus removing them from your search.
An example of this would be if I am looking for a level 30+ fractal I would like to be able to ignore all of the parties lfm for fractal levels under 30 (or the other way around). Or if looking for an Arah group it would be great to be able to ignore all the “Selling Arah p1/4” listings.
Parties move quite quickly and refreshing often changes the order they are listed in, it would be nice not to have to sift through the same few parties which I know I don’t want to join.
Thanks.
PS. It would also be AWESOME if /blocking someone with commander also stopped their tag appearing on your map (whole different kettle of fish!)
I like the idea of an insentive to waypoint to your home city. I would make it free to waypoint home and have it as a UI button from your character screen like “Go to the Heart of The Mists” button on the PvP screen. After all it is free to Get to LA via the Mists or WvW if you are prepared to take a connecting flight.
Also the waypoint home should land you somewhere near the cities commercial district and not near the Asure Gate to LA.
As far as instance owners go surely the simple solution is this:
Is the instance empty?
Yes = Closed, No = remains open.
The need for an instance owner doesn’t seem necessary.
I agree with the 3 votes to kick from a party of 5. 2 to kick from a party of 4 or 3. Obviously you just leave a party of 2 :P
To the OP:
While I agree the price is over the top if you want the skin, earn the skin. It’s a skin, not a must have. And as for the achievement, well, are you likely to kill 1000 giants?
To get slightly off topic:
Why is Cultural Armour rare armour? Once you’ve spent a large chunk of gold on it you then also have to use transmutation crystals to actually use it. It should either be a skin that is applied or Exotic with the stat choice option, like the gloves from the Clocktower event.
+1 to this.
GW2 is a game with a myriad of currencies, why do so many of them require a “Big Spend”? Surely a constant trickle is as effective as an emptied bucket once in a while? It’s also more fun.
An easy fix for this is simply to have a WvW buff list that is only “on” in WvW. If you log out of WvW (or DC) with 15min left on your WXP buff it should just turn off until you re-enter WvW, kind of like what happens with normal buffs when you log out of the game.
I have the same issue with random target switches, often to friendly NPC’s or even their corpses.
Autotargetting is turned off
Right Click to Attack/Interact is turned off.
I have not tried the “Promote Skill Target” option yet, and don’t know what it means even
This issue is recent, in the last few days this has started to happen. It is especially noticable in World Boss fights, probably because I have (or try to have) the same target for a long time.

This link will show which temples are currently open on EU servers. Look for the dark blue dots.
