Another workaround is to take advantage of the fact that skills will switch places if you equip one you already have on your bar. So, change the skill in slot 7 to the one you want to have in slot 9. Then, change the skill in slot 7 again, to the one that is currently in slot 9. They’ll switch places, so the one you set in the first step will now be in slot 9. (You can, of course, do the same thing to set the skill in slot 8.)
I totally agree with this, personal story used to give you a good chunk of XP. I’m not opposed to playing the rest of the game, but the story is a big deal that should be awarding decent XP to help you move along in levels… without that, I don’t have a lot of incentive to bother playing the story at all.
I was with tiny groups or on my own almost the whole time I did my WvW achieves. We even specifically went after yaks and sentries for quite awhile. I still got all the other ones first. I did finally get dolyaks through a lot of camping camps and just waiting for them to spawn, but even that was a pain and took ages. I never did get sentries. I managed to reach 150 on the second to last day.
I love the idea of tying in the WvW dailies. It would fit with how the other living world metas work, and would help spread out the achievement hunters a bit. It would also be neat if we could have a category that required you to participate at least once every week.
On remote desktop: The game will run, but it takes about 10 minutes to get it to bring up the close menu and close out. Which is all you’ll want to do once you realize how bad it lags up your connection. You might be able to do daily laurel vendor, if you’d left a character standing in front of the laurel vendor. It’s bad.
Who says GW2 isn’t a platformer game? It has movement, it has jumping, why not have some platforming? Anet has done a good job of keeping the core game accessible, I see no issues with having extra content push the engine and players to interesting, unique & sometimes challenging activities. Jumping puzzles are pretty much my favourite part of the game now.
As for the achievements and mobility issues, yeah, it’s less than awesome that some people cannot complete some activities, be it due to disability or lag or simply being bad at the game. I myself have trouble moving around and using skills at the same time, so I’d resigned myself to never getting the race winning achievements and meandered around getting all the crystals I could. While doing that I ended up trying out the skills and actually managed to play through, and since it started to be fun I kept trying and eventually got first! (I still get my fingers messed up often and walk right off of things, though.)
One thing I do is practice everywhere. On fences, I jump from post to post. In this case, in the jumping puzzle lobby, I jump around the peppermint making sure to land on the red stripes every time. Tighter circles make for smaller/harder jumps. Go as fast as you can!
I agree with most of these, especially the guild sorting (in a guild where most people are not repping, it is a pain!) and the combining all those black lion tools that are taking up my precious space.
