Transmutation stones Ban or no Ban?

Don’t do it! Here’s why:

My best friend was a straight-A student, he was on the dean’s honor roll and had everything going for him. Then last week he took two Transmutation Stones and died instantly. RIP, Ralphie.

SAY NO TO TRANSMUTATION STONES!

I see this teleporting thing a lot as of lately. They are doing the teleporting from one farming node to another now as well, ignoring mobs (I was farming some mats and watched many bots one after another keep porting around and grabbing nodes that were up – just appearing, gathering, disappearing, appearing at the next node, repeating).

The recent ban has crippled my guild

So, you leader was banned likely rightfully, and the guild is risking to fall apart?
Sounds fair to me. When a leader is cheating, All the fruits of his labor should be confiscated after he/she has been banned.

Now, that’s what i call fair.

Plus, I thought that being in a guild would be all about the people, not the benefits

That’s a pretty stupid and naive point of view. So if the president of your company is caught committing some kind of fraud, you’re happy about losing your job because of something he did?

Try thinking before you make idiotic statements.

Actually, this is exactly what happens.

If the president of a company is falsifying tax documents and such for a business and gets closed down by the federal government as a result, do you seriously think the government sits down and says “well, since we’re closing the company, we need to hire every one of the employees?”

Do you really think when a company goes bankrupt the employees are able to keep working at the (now closed) company?

Oh, I get your point now. What you meant is the opposite of what you said. What you meant is “this is what happens in real-life but it shouldn’t happen in games too because games aren’t real!”

Same problem here. I’ve never had an issue like this either, so this is new for me.

What happened to the anti griefing policy?

What I see when I read this is three things:

1) “Bro, so I was in Eternal Battlegrounds and I was all killing mobs off on my own. All of a sudden a player came and ganked me while I was fighting a mob. Why is this even allowed? I was doing PvE! I wasn’t even there to PvP!”

2) “Yesterday I was in our Borderlands and I was just roaming around trying to grab material nodes. Every 5 minutes, though, someone killed me. Please ban them because I didn’t even go there to PvP!”

3) “Um, ANet, can you please help? I went to the Borderlands to get my missing Vistas. When I got there I got killed trying to enter the enemy’s keeps so I could snag the Vistas. This is clearly griefing because they refuse to let me into their keeps so I can get my Vista. Ban them. Thanks.”

Seriously. Get real, guys.

If you don’t obey, you take around 7k damage (at least to my Engi). If you do, nothing happens.

And @Cake, if you’re the one with the transform, you can’t just hang back and attack, as you have no skills (other than the 5 that are part of transform).

I must have bad luck. Even with Magic Find I get nothing but greens (usually just a single green) from the chest. I’ve run at least 20x now.

Someone that was in a few of my runs though (4 runs) got 3 exotics during them. But out of everyone else I’ve talked to, nobody else has gotten even one.

Insane number of bots.

Keep reporting them one by one. While some devs of ANet admit to playing the game, they still aren’t able to spot the bots. As a result, you will need to let them now that not only is “Askgq” a bot, but so are “Askgf” and “Askgz.” Furthermore, make sure you let them know about “Askgj” and “Askgi” or they may mistake those as players too.

Also, while you’re at it, they would like to thank you for your reports once you send them in. But don’t add the bots to your friendslist or ever go back to where you once found them, as they will undoubtedly still be there in the months to come while ANet finishes “investigating” them and it may discourage you from reporting them in the future.

Aaron, I run into the same issue and I play an Engineer. What irritates me more than the fact that unless you’re grouped you won’t get much of anything, is the fact that nearly everyone there spamming their AoE’s is a bot. You aren’t even competing against players for stuff, you’re competing against bots playing the game while people are away/asleep. So they are getting the rewards without having to do anything, while you’re stuck trying to beat them.

And even worse than this is that ever since ANet claimed they started to ban bots, there are more and more bots showing up. Some of these have been reported for well over a month. I found one bot train of 14 (yes, fourteen) Rangers that all had the same account name when I reported them. They were all made up of random characters (like sdjlwjertkljwerjlsjdlfs) but their account name was a 4 letter word and was the same on every one of them. It’s things like this, and the fact that the bot train is still there after having been reported over WEEKS, that makes me sick of competing against them.

GW2, YouTube... Some clarification.

To toss in my experience as well, I had written approval from a company to monetize videos related to them. Upon doing it, one of the videos ended up flagged. I contacted the company and they had absolutely nothing to do with it, yet Youtube, even with my written consent, stated that they still would not allow it.

It’s not always the companies that are doing the flagging. Sometimes they have nothing to do with it and it’s the viewers or some automated system causing them to be flagged.

Bots are ruining this game

I took some images today of at least 20 stacked bots all standing still and spamming attacks in slightly altered directions (effectively creating a circle). I couldn’t even report more than one because they were stacked so that you could only target the top one and they all had long 20-30 character names that were randomized (like isdjwerjweljdshfljewrew).

ANet needs to be proactive. They are asking us to do impossible tasks now (report all bots), while we have absolutely no power other than to keep asking them to do something about the situation. It should not be on us, the players, to be dealing with this when we have absolutely no power over anything.

And based on traversing the lands today, the bots are becoming more and more numerous. I’m now finding actual guilds botting (players I see in WvW and I know play the game are starting to join in on the trains). Furthermore, it’s turned into this massive joke where people I know have started botting because “if you can’t beat them, join them.”

As ANet sits idly by and does whatever they are “doing,” they are losing more and more people to the botters (due to those that are quitting and those that are now starting to bot as well).

Just to add in, “watching” them does no good. It takes less than 7 days from when a farmer starts a new account until they’re already making profit. That means from the second they start their new account, if you take more than 7 days to rid of them, they have won and will continue getting new accounts to bot. As long as they are making money, they will stay.

What I did to avoid ending up in this situation is I started a text document. In it, I add each zone (in alphabetical order) as I complete them to ensure I have a full listing of everything.

It makes finding what you still need significantly easier in the future.
