Australia here too, and I can confirm a VPN client (I used TunnelBear) worked.
Awoken to a new day, and still happening. Anet? Hello?
More than happy to spend my money in a different kind of Gem Shop if you’d prefer…
:( Still going. Even less % progress now.
Just for your own happiness you might want to take your email address off that screenshot
Just do the thing. Jiggle the cord labelled “Oceania”. Go on, you know you want to.
Yep Australia here too, still stalling about about 34%.
Tried the Anet recommended fixes, obvs, no change.
You can get different bags that filter rarity and trash loot into them. But not the ones you’re specifically referring to though.
Hehe yeah I you’re right those bags aren’t quite what I mean. Maybe I’m just a lazy sorter spoiled from the WoW autosort function … but it is kinda neat
Fix this please
I am getting exactly this also.
Greetings!
As a pack rat, I humbly request that you add an auto sort bag/bank function that sorts items according to their function (e.g. consumable, container, upgrade, armor, weapon etc).
One small button: many moment of manual sorting reclaimed, and onward to quest!
Ooh Invisible Bag, good thinking! Thanks for that
Agree with the above too!
Brief suggestions to improve these little cuties please:
1. Stop them from being deposited as collectables when using the “Deposit all collectables” function.
2. Every zone/instance change they seem to disappear and need to be re-summoned. Please make them persistant.
3. Add ability to name them.
4. At a long shot, add a panel to be able to choose from the minis you have and summon one (rather than them taking up bag space – yes I’m a hoarder). This panel would be accessible anywhere (rather than the collectables panel from the Bank/Profession station).
Many thanks, deep bow. =)
FOV (Field of View) Changes Beta Test - Feedback Thread

Just tested it — excellent progress!
As expected, and as others have said, it improves my gameplay experience, and can appreciate so much more of the world, especially higher-up places (many of which are in LA to enjoy).
Keep up the good work on this change! FOV slider and First Person camera and you’re all done! ;P
I have also just upgraded to Windows 8 Pro (great price) and my GW2 runs just as well as it did in Windows 7. In fact, it feels ever so slightly smoother.
Some articles re: Win8 have indicated that a handful of games run slightly better.
P.S. Sorry, realised I didn’t even answer your question. Yes, GW2 will still run (assuming you upgrade from 7 to 8. Obviously if you do a clean install of Windows, you will have to reinstall GW2).
GW2 is already such an awesome game, with amazing environments and art.
THIS FOV makes it so much more enjoyable — can actually see the beautiful world instead of it being crammed right up.
+1
Make this permanent, please ANet? Pretty please, with a heaping of candy-sugar-love on top?
P.S. And add in first-person view as well so we can take screenies without having to look at the back of our chars ;P
I thought this was already in WvW maps? I saw lots of green dots running around when I tried it out for the first time last night…
I like this idea.
New camera system.
Including:
- first person PoV (to be able to fully enjoy the scenery without character in way);
- adjustment of its position relative to the character (maybe a little higher up);
- smoothing toggle on/off (personally I’m happy with smoothing off, but give people an option);
- FoV slider (long discussion about this elsewhere)
The camera is the way we are immersed and engage in the game. ANET have clearly gone to great lengths to create a gorgeous world, and I believe some improvements to the camera system as a whole will increase the enjoyment and immersion.
I posted about this elsewhere, but for me, the camera is at the moment the one thing that ruins my immersion in the game – and the ability to enjoy the environment – the most.
The way it bobs back and forth on geometry, is positioned behind/under a character, can’t zoom into first person PoV. Particularly in small spaces it’s very problematic.
There was a particular time yesterday where I came across a beautiful ocean vista and wanted to get a nice screeny. Couldn’t, due to the above issues.
I believe (hope!) ANET will address some of these issues as they have already addressed one camera issue. Hopefully they are working on a new camera system that will iron out some of these wide-spread annoyances.
Then we can enjoy the amazing environment and all it’s fantastic artwork in its full glory.
Very quick and simple: ArenaNet have created some beautiful landscapes and scenery for us to view. But without being to zoom into ‘first person’ view (and thus get our character out of the way), the views aren’t as easy to enjoy.
I understand this is also partially related to the FoV issue, but that’s been discussed elsewhere.
So, it would be awesome to add zooming into first person view.
Peace. =)
Definitely add an option. I personally prefer the smoothing off (having it on makes me feel queazy and like the game is lagging) but if it was easy to remove from this patch, I’d definitely agree to add it back in as a toggle.
