I couldn’t be sure if this thread would be a violation to the Forum Rules/Code of Conduct, however it is just something I wish to know of its possibilities.

Moderators, feel free to delete the thread if such topic is not allowed.

While my guild and i were having a break from Borderlands and chillout at EoTM for fast World Ranks leveling, we encountered something rather unpleasant.

As the ‘outnumbered’ side, we always struggle to take objectives and hence bunker down at our keep is the only way we can ensure supplies up for every WP. When we had every siege built up, i find it odd that our supplies keep draining.

It was a guild (a famous guild i would say, and notorious in the early years of GW2), building up catapults to destroy and rebuild the bridges for achievements. We understand the need for achievement, as we did it too. However, zergs from 2 enemy worlds are inbound (pincer atk) and we needed to stock up supplies for repair and siege up. Hence we repeatedly plead for a halt to their achievement hunt. Until things get nasty and they drain even more supplies.

I admit i was furious, as that was not teamplay and will cost us our lost. It was a very selfish move imo.

Things fell apart after that.

Pincer attack started, we barely hold up, supplies all drained, siege all destroyed and we couldn’t rebuild our defenses. We fought back 2 waves of zergs from 2 different home worlds.

This was when I felt something is off.

The guild who deliberate drain our supplies all rep up another guild. They never join fights, they took our siege and deliberately aim off the targets, we never had a chance to recover. The strength of the zerg keeps growing each wave. Until they hit a number of 60-70, they revive faster we can kill. It was this last fight, that particular guild was gone. No where to be seen. And our keep finally fall.

(despite that, we were proud to have defended against so many waves while being ‘outnumbered’ LOL)

When we tried to take back our keep, it was already siege up. We realized they placed the siege weapons exactly where we build them, they used the exact same tactic against us.

Is it true you can see so much of enemies siege wpn placement when they’re built out of sight above the walls?

Since then we can never catch a break even when we’re just a small squad trying to get minor objectives for exp. This particular zerg that stampede our keep always sneak up on us no matter where we go, as if they knew our commander route pattern. I can’t help, thinking we were revealed. They seems to know more than they should.

SO, are spies still active? Are there still people selling information about their own homeworld? What can we do to prevent them? Or are they acceptable ‘tactics’?

How many more awful "releases"?

Then why are you still here?

I’m enjoying everything so far.

Heirloom merchant back for a day or two

I’m sorry the Heirlooms you’ve been hoarding didn’t turn into Precursors.

It is common reasoning that with every patch of a Living Story ending, involved NPCs will be REMOVED (especially when the means of getting a certain tokens are forever removed). The heirloom merchant has been there for TWO whole living story.

Forums or not.
Common sense tells you to trade-in everything you have while you can.
Never heard of – ‘Better to be Safe than Sorry’ ?

What communication issues?

Past event, past living stories…
As it all ends, so does the NPCs involved for tokens trade-ins.
I believe the notion of “This Living Story/Event is ENDING!! Go trade all the tokens you’ve accumulated WHILE YOU CAN!!!” is pretty much a common understanding communicated through out since 2012.

Sure, it doesn’t hurt to bring back Heirloom merchant.

One week later?

“Hey, I knew they brought back Heirloom merchant but I was busy clearing maps and finishing achievements now we have a break from Living Story so I couldn’t trade them in, I really wanted to.

I didn’t read the forums and Anet did not communicate well with the players when it will be removed.

Please bring it back again. It would hurt no one."

Civilian saviors vs farmers

When i was first introduced to the event, i thought it was nothing but zerg fest.

Until i happened to get into MEDx overflow and citizens rescue mission is kicking on high gear, for once i felt the map is actually safe to travel around.

No zerg, no ‘mindless’ farmers, everyone doing their part to complete the event.
There were a BALANCE in responsibilities.
Citizens were saved in every hot spots, rally points defended, and knowing other players will always have your back when you’re downed doing the heroic rescues.

It was absolutely a beautiful sight to see.

We have no rights to critic what the farmers do.
Loots and golds rule above all. I tend to call these players the ‘materialists’.
That is the way they wanna roll in this event.
Just leave them be in their ‘Press F to Loot’ paradise.

Call me lack of sportsmanship or selfish.
When i find myself in a zerg fest OF, i’ll just grab a few of the nearby heirlooms and leave, minding my own stuff while waiting for the next reset.

I find no reason to fight alongside mindless zergs.
I find no motivation to give it my all for leechers.

I highly doubt Anet will/can change the reward system in any way.
So learn to deal with it.

If you’re the generous who embrace leechers, i give you my utmost respect.
If you’re like me who despise leechers, don’t feed what the leechers don’t deserve.

Mystic Forge Conduits go Boom

Because they are not doing anything wrong and in fact the more money that is spent on the trader the better the economy is overall? the TP is the main gold sink in this game, hell the only gold sink.

The economy should be there to support the regular players, not the other way around.

A well ruining economy is one where a player can go to the trading post and buy or sell an item for more or less what it’s worth. Flippers perform a useful role here because they bring buy and sell prices closer together encouraging quicker and less risky trade for the player who does not see “playing the trading post” as an aspect of the game they wish to spend a lot of time on.

However creating false demand by hoarding and putting in fake bids has an entirely negative effect on players with an exception of providing a gold sink for the economy. A false price is created for the item because supply has been artificially choked and the number of that items available to those who want to use them have been reduced. If you wish for an economy that genuinely works on supply and demand action should be taken to ensure that neither are artificially manipulated.

I totally agree with Cormac.

Hoarding and place your own price label on an item is not doing the economy any good. That’s exploiting one’s wealth and depriving others of their needs/convenience.

The economy will prosper only if there is a balance in the community spending capabilities. What happened with the Mystic Forge Conduit, imo, is the perfect example of – “the rich gets richer and the poor gets poorer”. It is a gold sink alright, whereas the gold of regular players sink in directly into the pocket of the ‘tycoons’ so they can further manipulate the economy and soon to own all top demanded discontinued items in the game.

Studying the market, make speculation of its increased demand and stock up for future reselling profit is smart. You play by the game’s economy.

Plotting for market control, mass hoarding and promote manipulated supply and demand is selfish. You’re forcing people to play by your economical power.

However in the harsh reality, no one has the right to justify market manipulation is wrong. It’s only a matter of personal ethical conduct. Regular players like me have no choice but to bite the bullet and learn to accept my financial incapability.

As for the rich, “because i can, too bad for you.”
