I bought Monsoon. Really like the slim look of the handle and the little water deals on the end of it looks pretty dope.
Now to come up with a armor skin set that I feel fits the elite.

No second weapon therefore the build will fail automatically.

Basically, this build go in and do as much damage as possible then die. Limited escape after blowing up your dodges and by that time you will be out of init too.

kitten bro, angry much. Forgot the SB. Anyways, a revision if you want to play safe. Condi clear on WD, SoA, RFI and Dodge.. Not the best tbh, but could be fun.

You lose the thief as the center if you were to add a second character to the image. It also likely needed to fit the scheme of the other images as a whole, this was taken from a set of images all with the proposed classes portrayed with their new role/weapon.
The staff itself in the image has parallel lines to the staff which in my opinion, portray movement.
There’s a ton of things to read into in this image, the shadow magic aura, the movement and angle of the staff, his hands, his outfit, etc.
I would say it’s likely that this is intended to be a ranged magic staff, rather than change the mechanics of the weapon itself to be melee.

His hands are clearly not holding the weapon, which in all honestly anyone an see at first glance. It could certainly be staff, but I would highly doubt it in melee form. It seems to more or less a similar animation of the mesmer’s greatsword auto-attack.
My statement was done at first glance, I never saw a guy rushing with a weapon at all. I went totally Bruce Lee for me.

It could be hand to hand. The “thief” in the image isn’t even technically holding the staff. It would appear he is actually defending against the weapon, grabbing it, or using some sort of martial arts shenanigans. If you look closely, you can even see line work demonstrating movement either away, or towards the “thief.” BOOM, your whole world is now upside down.

Thoughts?
Little different variation on the current D/P kitten.
Really bursty, little stealth other than 5+2 combo. I took SoA for the endurance refill and extra condi clear, works pretty well. Wish improv was just a little less random.

Former WvW Thief on Dragonbrandand and #1 Spy NA.
Thief has been my main since launch day, have rarely done any PvE in this game, nearly 95% of my time on thief and the game has been WvW and sPvP.
Known for having a very aggressive play style, and well versed on every build with thief, with D/D and S/P being my most used builds.

Spied. The #1 Spy NA.

It’s pretty current.

I currently run 2/0/6/0/6 with Krait Runes. Sigil of Agony & Corruption.
Utilities I run SoS, BP, Shadowstep & BV. With great success. It’s pretty ez mode 1v1, but it’s a ton of fun Xv1.

BV with Krait Runes is the new jazz. Meshes so well on a condi build.

I use P/D & D/P for my daily WvW setup. Going all full zerk armor, valk and zerk accessories.

That being said, P/D is fairly worthless without condition but it can easily catch people off guard. I don’t know that I’d use D/P in anything other than zerk/valk, it’s a kittenty condition build and geared towards power/crit.
