I imagine only people like WP can have more
And if GW2 doesn’t disappoint me in the future, (not that it ever did in the past!) i’ll be gladly giving it those 12h+ a day still, just because it’s such a unique game. A game that, for me, has absolutely no rival on the MMORPG market to this day

… and I must admit, that I really enjoyed it! Despite being skeptical and toxic about the season start. Broke two personal records this Season: played more matches than ever before, and finally made it to Legendary, which was my goal from S1! And ended up in Top 100 on top of that. I was about to post a list of some of my issues and observations, but I deleted it, and in its stead: a big Thanks to the ArenaNet sPvP devs, who gave us this awesome and enjoyable Season. THANK YOU!
WARNING: SALT INCOMING!
Ok, not sure if this can be taken as any kind of serious feedback, but I must speak my mind. Just go get some popcorn and take a seat, for it will be long reading. I’m having terrible experiences with the season so far. Being an averrage pvp’er between the seasons, very active during each season, with good knowledge about the classes that I play, and already inherited all the strats and rotations few years back. Played nearly 4k matches during my playtime.
Now for the feedback part. Placement matches are absolute bullkitten. How can anyone have their skill determined after only 10 (ten) played matches, that’s beyond my ability to comprehend. It should be much more, 30-50 at least. Makes no problem for any decent pvp’er. Season start was killed by clueless pvers, who just flooded spvp to farm the asc stuff. I was getting tons of people who willingly told me and the team: that they have no care about if we win or lose, they just want to get them shards to buy asc crap. Seriously. I always thought this, now i’ll say it aloud: spvp should be completely separated from pve (loot/balance/build/rewards/whatever-wise), as it almost was a few years back, before all the feature pack shiny stuff and merge, or at least lock ranked play behind rank 80 or some certain amount of matches won. Currently 1764 rating (dropped almost two tiers in platinum just today, yep); playing three classes at a good lvl of skill: DH meditrapper, power berserker, procmancer reaper. Cirka 280 matches in. Constantly losing any progress that i made. Those two tiers took me days of hard work to get, now it’s gone due to the ongoing reasons.
Teammates range from horrible (= no other class to switch to, no sense of rotations whatsoever, they start to insult their own team when it’s 70:100, etc; and this all speaking about t1-3 plat), to fantastic – that’s where i get the occasional win here and there, while finally being allowed to have some fun (90% of the matches could be described as unfun, hopeless and agonising). Tragedy. But the even worse thing is, that I’m getting ESL players from the Top 5 as opponents (namely r55 guys). As a t1-2 platinum player. This is unacceptable. I want to have good, fair, enjoyable matches. I don’t play spvp to get destroyed by toxic tryhard teens, who play completely different game and thus should be placed against opponents close to their own SR. Nor do I want to have them in my team, and get carried. That just makes no sense to me, at all. I’d rather have 10-15 min long Qs for quality matches than that.
MM (matchmaking) is horrible. In order to deliver me quick Qs, it places me against/with any players that are available (as of how it appears to me, at least), no matter their rating. And all this because there’s so few people playing spvp right now. Most have already ragequited, or gave up. Although, that’s not gonna happen to me. I set myself a goal: to get into Legendary this season, and I will accomplish it, or die from despair (and salt?) next to my PC.
I believe GW2 needs way more spvp streamers, tho I’m unsure where to get them and how to promote them. They would draw the attention of other players to the game, while teaching them the mechanics and strategies, showing them how the different classes perform, discussing balance, or giving them personal advice and tips. That’d be awesome, and even I as a veteran player would watch them. And I’m not talking about Lord Scrubseth and Co., they are way too arrogant and toxic for anyone to watch them (well, except their hardcore fans, I guess). It would also help to have a tab with streamers that are currently live on the main web page (inspiration taken from a certain ARPG), possibly for all the game zones (pve, pvp, wvw).
That’s about all I had to say, hope your popcorn didn’t become salty while reading this!
WARNING: END OF THE SALTY ROAD!
Hello! During the past few days, my inventory window keeps collapsing itself into the original size every time I start the game. Any ideas on what could be causing this or how to eventually fix it?
Having the exact same issue on my female asura character. Glow effect is placed behind the eyes instead in front of them. It shows normally on hero panel, but it isn’t visible ingame at all. Tried to change graphics settings or take it off and on again, but that didn’t help.
A few days ago, I found out that if you have jade armor active (the one from the new consumable item) and attempt to open a skritt stash, it will consume the contract but nothing will happen. No skritt will appear, contract won’t be refunded. Does this work as intended or is it a bug? If so, could you please adress that along with the other issue? Wasted several contracts this way until I figured.
Can someone tell me how to get participation in this part of the Nuhoch event chain in Tangled Depths? I need it for the “Friend of the Frogs” achievement. Pulling beetles, stomping the spores or killing nearby hostile hylek doesn’t work.
