If I double click on equipped item with selectable stats (e.g. legendary weapon/back piece) Select Stats dialog appears (as it should). While this dialog is open if I right click on this item in Hero: Equipment panel I get an option Unequip ITEMNAME.

Selecting this option while it’s Select Stats dialog is open crashes client. Tried with [Bolt][Ad Infinitum][Attuned Assaulter’s Woven Band (Infused)].

22 Chests opened, nothing unique

I just hope weapon skins don’t require 100 tonics or boosters (;

I was really hoping to get these skins for several characters, when I first read about the event. I opened about 30 chests, got one weapon and one shoulders skin, rest of it is stuff I rarely use. I expected we would get 1/6 skins from chests, I’d use the ones I like and trade the rest for others. But…

Really can’t support ArenaNet on this. It’s a festival, everyone participating should have something to remeber it by. Specially since it’s the first event of this kind, and I want to remeber it not as the thing that took my money, but for it’s beautiful art, fun events and cool weapon skins.

I’d also like to mention Mystic Forge recipes and ask (again) for fixed recipies, not random factor. 250 Corn+3x25 rare Festival items give recipes for rare and exotic (even masterwork? items)… Please consider separate recipes for diferent qualities- increase number of required items for higher quality, and use less (or same number as now) for lower quality. Surely Zommoros can learn more new things! (; I know this won’t happen this week, but maybe future events/content could be better. One last thing – 100 Lodestones for helloween weapon?? I can understand you don’t want to flood the market with them now, and keep them exclusive and rare, but still… aren’t candy canes suppose to be limiting factor?

@OP Really nice system. But I think people are not understanding it. Try to explain it better, maybe using smaller numbers (max population 10, number of cap points 6, or something) and then scale it up to show how that would affect real servers. Also try to remove referances from server names and timezones (Server A, B, C with 100%, 50%, 30% of maximum number of players is just fine), as ppl tend to get stupid :P when they hear about those (; Most of the complaints about your system I read here are about things that don’t affect your model (if I understood it correctly)…

Legendary weapons no longer an option for most players?

My problem with luck factor is that it pushes prices of everything related to legendaries. And you can’t really plan your legendary journey. I personally wouldn’t mind getting few components a day so I can make my legendary in ‘stack (250) days’ (; But this is still an MMO, things will change. I’m sure in 5 years everybody and their cat will have legendaries.

At this time I don’t plan on getting one, untill we get ‘fixed’ recipies, and I’m sure we will, eventualy. It’s really a shame ANet didn’t put some more effort into making these weapons trully legendary. I’m talking two months long world wide quest chains, that would be something (: Or even selling them for 5000 Achievement Points (ok, ok, disable salvage achivement, geez) would be better then random factor in Arcane Wishing Well…

Eh, we all want more (: But it takes months to create a story, design layout, monsters, bosses… Then there’s armor skins and weapons, lore…. And you can finish everything in a day… It even takes longer to write a dungeon guide then to run and clear story and all explorable modes.

Just be patient and enjoy the game, Did someone mention Isgarren? :P

I just experianced strange forum behavior. I’m at work and I was looking at one of my posts I made earlier from home. I couldn’t edit any posts I made. Tried refreshing and reloading page (no cache), but no changes… Then I logged on my home PC remotely and logged on the forums, and editing options were active. So I’m thinking it has to do something with IP address (both home and work IPs are approved), but what’s curious is that now I can see edit options from work too…

Ok, did another check- if I logout from forums from home PC, I can’t see edit options at work again… In fact, logging out from one computers gives some authentication error on other computer. So if I’m logged in from both IPs I can edit posts… If not, I can’t see editing options.

EDIT: (this one works :P) PS. How do I embed videos to my posts, btw?

Balanced group or balanced builds?

From what I’ve seen so far, difference between good and bad group has to do with player skill and the builds they are running. When you choose your skills and traits, instead of asking: How will this benefit me in combat? you shoul ask: How is this skill gonna affect others? And only then look for a way you can use it too (; If you can take a skill that will interupt/negate even 5k AoE or some other that will give you 5% more dmg, it’s not really a choice :P

You can move to the other tunnel. No spider there… I was there yesterday with a group that gave up after several waves of spiders. I wanted to check if there are any safe spots, but by the time I found one they all left party saying “It’s broken”…

Oh well, I decided to prove them wrong and finished the boss solo :P I’ve recorded the fight, and I’ll upload it later today or tomorrow…

Crafting and money making are terrible here

I’m a Master Crafter, leveled all disciplines on my main character and I didn’t earn any money from crafting. In fact, I’ve spent lot of money buying stuff to level crafts (; But I’ve had fun crafting, made myself all exotic gear (1 or 2 sets), the rest I’m slowly getting from dungeons. I did it coz I love crafting and in the long run I know it will be usefull – for alts, legendaries etc. Hopefully some day the market recovers and crafters can earn few coins here and there (:

No. This accomplished nothing but an inflated economy.

I don’t see how’s this a bad thing, when everything is underpriced (: If everyone had few gold per week value of items would be more in line with base price set by cultural weapons vendors… Prices wouldn’t go too high, because if there’s a choice most ppl would choose cultural weapons over drops/crafts. And materials/ingreedients would scale with those as well…

TL;DR: Daily achievement reward should be 1 gold. Agent of Entropy 5 gold, Monthly 10 gold!

Let me start by saying I’m an active player. At the moment I have close to 1900 achievement points, earned mostly on one character. So far I’ve tried pretty much everything this game has to offer and I’m liking it alot. Only problem I’m having is money (; Rewards for hard content are really, really low.
Here are few examples, for level 80: Reward for finishing explorable dungeon is about 26 silver. Using waypoint costs 1.2-3.5 silver. Finishing daily achivement gives 5 silver. Mobs you kill give 0.3-0.7 silver, with cooking buffs 0.5-1.2 silver. Repairing all damaged gear is 11.6 silver. Dynamic events give about 1.6…

I understand some of these rewards are limited to prevent farming, but I think rewards should be more balanced. Is two hour long dungeon really comparable to kiling 50 mobs near town/waypoint? I should probabaly mention I hate farming for anything. Doing same thing over and over was never fun for me. I can do all explorable modes of a dungeon in a row, but I really don’t want to run same path 3 times. It’s boring for me. And this game is designed to support gameplay like this.

I’ve looked at lot of prices for items around the Tyria and they seam reasonable and balanced, only if I didn’t struggle with money so much (: With the Trading Post being at the state it’s in right now, it’s imposible to make any decent amount of money. I have max level in 6/8 crafting disciplines, but selling my crafts isn’t really an option. Items are massivlly undervalued, to the point where you can buy item better then the one sold by karma merchants for 62.000 karma points for 10-20 silver.

So what are my options? I am willing to put some time into the game, do few dungeon runs, meta events, a lot of gathering. PvP and WvW when I feel like it. But at this pace I’ll never have money for anything ;( I don’t want to farm, or make spreadsheets and closely follow trading post trends to be able to aford a bag for my alt… I want to enjoy the world, craft something nice and sell it for decent price. I know economy is influenced by players, and untill players learn value of things (and their time) I don’t expect trading post to be usable by casual players like me. I want to do a dungeon and feel like it is worth my time.

I want legendary weapon! And as it is now I will never be able to get money for it. As it stands I can make 50 silver daily on average. I don’t want to hoard gold and be really carefull what I’m using it on. I strongly feel I should be rewarded for my victories and that I shouldn’t have to worry about money. That doesn’t mean I want to buy everything right now. Or getting a legendary weapon in a week. If the net cost of a legendary is, say 500 gold, it really shouldn’t take me 3 years of active play (few hours a day) to get one (;

I said already that I understand increasing rewards can potentially increase undesired farming, but there are things where casual players could be rewarded. For example, repeatable achivements. Those are the things that can’t be abused and exploited.

My suggestion is to consider substentially increasing rewards for repeatable achievements. Daily 1 gold, Monthly 10 gold, Agent of Entropy 5 gold… With this guarantied income for active play I could start thinking about making legendary weapon (;

What does community think? Keep in mind I don’t like exploits, don’t want to worry about market trends, just want to enjoy the world without restrictions that exist to prevent things I don’t care about anyway (; How will increasing achivements rewards impact players, economy and the world?

Stange new Lands (to Ree and Jeff from Tyria)

Dear friends at ArenaNet,
It’s been a long day in Tyria. I left my swords with Zommoros for much needed repairs. Bhia was cussing as she threw me out of the kitchen (she thought I was Nightmare Court agent because my cooking “was upsetting the Pale Tree”). So, I decided to take a break and rest before my meeting with Caithe where we will discuss our plans for Zhaitan.

While I was laying in a leaf-bed I got from my new friend from Rata Sum (he called it self-sustainable-anti-gravitational-hammock), I remembered a strange vision I had in my dream. It was of an ancient adventurer who passed through these lands before The Awakening. She was a great mesmer, like me, and she was a wise friend of Ventari. She spoke of distant lands to the south where she fought gods; of old magic, army of shadows and her many adventures in the Mysts. In some strange way she was connected to me and showed me a way to open the portal to the vault she called Hall in my vision.

Among many rusted weapons and magic armor, under the small statues of her pets, there was a strange book she found in the Mysts. It was written in strange language no one in the whole Tyria knew. It was only with the help of her goddess Lyssa that she found a way to unlock it’s secrets. After she vanquished every foe around basilica that holds Lyssa’s altar, the waterfalls of Elon froze and the lake was perfectly still. She held the book above the mirror and the words started to change shape:

“Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland” by Charles Lutwidge Dodgson

The book foretold that 150 years after it was written (in year 2015 by unknown calendar) a mirror would become portal to the strange new land and we could travel there from Tyria. My vision only spoke of grubs called caterpillar and lots of hats. She also told me that if I can’t find this mirror I should write a letter to the guild of adventurers called ArenaNet and ask. I’ve heard that you have great tools imbued with the powers of all gods hidden in dungeons of your castle and that you could even build gates like Asura! (Although my friend from Rata Sum didn’t agree. Unless you have found Keystone, he added.)

I’m sending this letter in hope that ravens would find the way through the Mysts to your keep. I also hope that few years from now we can all celebrate the anniversary of this amazing book in new lands inspired by Alice’s Adventures!

How are Dungeons meant to be played?

Dungeons are hard. Dungeons are balanced.
It just takes some time getting to know what you’re enemy. Learning boss/mob mechanic. Sure you will die many, many times but when you figure it out it’s easy (:

I’m speaking from personal experience as a mesmer. I run AC several times mode and yesterday I did CM, TA, SE for the first time. This is all story mode, and to be honest I didn’t plan on doing exploration till I have full gear (I hit 80 few days ago). Just because there’s an option to go in at lower level doesn’t mean you can run through it undergeared… My guess is lower cap on exploration mode is there so you can play it on your 2nd and other characters when you can afford decent gear for him/her and not have to wait for lv80 (;

I’ll try not to get to spoilery with some tips and advices:

  • In combat res downed players asap. But don’t interupt or expose yourself. Finish what you started, cc enemy, pull them away from dead player so others can res…
  • In combat never res dead player. If you die use respawn point.
  • Kill healers first.
  • Kill heavy damage dealers next. Depending on your group setup that could be direct damage or conditions. If you have high toughness but conditions hurt you more deal with those enemies. Keep in mind the group tho’ – if you survive and 3 of others die, change tactics. It’s beter you die and 3 others survive.
  • When you die figure out why you did. Change weapons, traits, even armor if you have spare set and retry… Don’t just go back in and do the same things all over again (;

Assuming you know your skills and abilities well and don’t play agains yourself.
