hi, u probably get better and faster results if you use google and find answers urself..
anyways.. u get enough hero points to skill everything and u can freely change ur traits..
here is an example build:
http://gw2skills.net/editor/?vRAQNBIhZakhGapxaawxGYvxBuQNLimoKibwE8BwrOAaBA-TZQaAAQZAA
and a faceroll minion master leveling build
http://gw2skills.net/editor/?vRAQRBIhhu1IDN0Ujd1gbNwejDchCe1BQLMLimYJk5wOcDA-TZQaAAQZAA
all core necro without reaper
(edited by schmu.4630)
Shout GS Longbow (perma buffs, survivability, dmg is okay)
For open world and casual fractals this is an easy to use and fun to play build in my opinion.
Thanks alot for ur input!
I will try to take poison cloud instead of spite..its a good idea..
The reason for taking Master of Corruption is because the other traits are lackluster.
You might be right about the high condi ticks on breakbars.. still in open world and on the dummy i get up to 1,3k blood and 600 chill dmg with relatively high uptime.
Since this is without 25 mightstacks i assumed the high condi ticks come from group buff situations.
Im aware of the huge amount of crit and under perfect conditions i’d replace berserker gear with valk or take Chilling Victory
Someone (i think it was spoj) claimed that vampiric aura could be compared with a total 5% dmg increase. I feel like it could be sacrificed, since Blood Magic doesnt offer that much dps.
If we compare Scholar (175 Power/100Ferocity/10% DMG if above 90% HP) and Berserker (175 Condi/100 Power/5% DMG /5% Condi) we loose 75 Power, 100 Ferocity and 5% DMG IF we stay above 90% HP
With this build i calculate that the group is not 100% perfect and that i maybe dodge to late etc. Therefore when i think about Scholar i always assume a 7% DMG instead of 10%, but that is personal preference and maybe a mistake.
Also i dont count on 100% Fury uptime, coz some raids do without them Revs nowadays.
Will test a little more and once i figured out how to record an okay quality video i will upload some gameplay/rotation footage.
Hi, i discovered a “new” build for myself that i really enjoy playing
and i think it’s highly effective and could be on par with more popular builds.
(i dont claim that i came up with something new or innovative-im sure others tried builds like this already)
GS D/D Reaper:
Can change utilities, but blood is power is a great buff and with the little extra condi dmg in good groups i get blood ticks up to 2k..
I got rid of my scholar runes and use berserker instead.. this might be a little dps loss in total, but it shifts some dmg focus on condi, which is nice when facing tough mobs unexpectedly. Also im not that good at staying above 90% hp all the time and it feels good – personally – to not loose any dmg buffs while being on lower health.
In pug group situations or open world, i change spitefull talisman for bitter chill..
Since this build spits chill all the time u can apply vulnerability very easily even in aoe open world scenarios.
With chill ticking up to 1,2k and blood up to 2k (poison can go up to 2k aswell) i think we would compensate the loss of scholar runes and blood magic specialization.
This build is highly customizable (utilities, spite/curses traits), but in practice the chill dmg could be lower if other peeps stack chill aswell.
example rotation:
(while at range)
Blood is Power
Deathly Swarm
Reapers Shroud
cast Executioners Scythe on the fly towards boss (probably dps loss later or if better fields are on boss)
Soul Spiral
Deaths Charge
exit RS
weapon swap
Death Spiral (if vulnerability not 25)
otherwise Nightfall
Gravedigger
Well of Suffering
Full Auto Chain until Blood is Power is up
repeat.. its very situational and due to different cd’s you would need to stay a second longer on GS if Nightfall/Gravedigger CD is up very soon
I would like to hear ur opinion, appreciate constructive criticism.
btw: Dagger/Dagger looks cool
greetings, schmu
edit: also, im impressed about how hard Dagger 4 actually hits – especially in Aoe situations its a nice skill for applying chill to multiple mobs thanks to chill on blindness
using “soul spiral” in “executioners scythe” is a guaranteed 25 vulnerability stacks with “bitter chill” trait

Another Idea:
A chilled out Dhumfire Reaper.. i can imagine you would have a great time in Solo content thanks to 25 Mightstacks, 25 Stacks Vulnerability and Burning peaks at 1600 dmg per Tick on PvP Golem.. In practice u get mightstacks on the fly, Focus 4, WH 5, maybe Axe 2 for lifeforce and then enter reapers Shroud..
Axe for the 10% dmg Buff that works in reapers Shroud..
Bitter Chill can be exchanged for Spitefull Talisman if a group provides 25 perma vulnerability..
Please refrain from trashing these ideas without giving it some little thought or without constructive criticism..
I am aware that i wouldnt be the first person with an innovative idea and builds like these are not meta i know i know…
Still..could this be usefull for something? Solo content?
greetings
edit:
also an opinion about this build would be appreciated:
(Spite/Curse/Reaper) Power
(exchange signet of locust for anything u like)
my approach: selfmight on the fly → send condis to foe → GS 5, 4, 2 → RS 4, 2 (switch to D/D when u need to get rid of condis..
I tested this build for my daily fractals scale 2-70
Like the sustain from 10% lifeleech from condis, also the extra critchance is nice
Wish there was an easy way to see dps differences..
(edited by schmu.4630)
“Superior Sigil of Chill” (Chance to inflict Chill on hit)
“Rune of Ice” is for Duration and perma 7% dmg
Just tried on the Golem and maintaining perma Chill is of course very easy.. maybe to much.. Could probably change Rune of Ice to Scholar or so..
Well i could run Chilling Victory..but usually other classes take care of 25 might stacks
and giving up 50% crit is a bit painfull no?
But i will try a Chill Soul reaping Build with Chilling Victory now..
Hello,
I was wondering if anyone tested this kind of build already.
The Idea is a full Berserk Reaper with tons of Chill to make use of Reapers Chill traits..
Maybe its a bit overboard to go with Rune of Ice? And i didnt consider the loss of Sigil of Air..
Will try around on the PvP Golem for a bit and maybe build this soon..
greetings
If you want to play a condition/hybrid build you have to consider the effort and gold needed to get Viper/Sinister gear. It takes a while to farm it and requires crafting professions and gold. The cheapest armor choice is Berserker with a good Power Build.
For an open world build i recommend Greatsword + Dagger/Warhorn, these traits: Spite (1/1/2) Blood Magic (2/3/3) Reaper (1/3/3)
Take “Your Soul is mine” “Rise” another Shout of your liking and Signet of Spite.
Elite is Flesh Golem or “Chilled to the Bone”
You get 25% movement from wearing a dagger.
You can play around and take Wells instead of shouts and take Blood (2/3/1)
hej, thats nice gameplay footage
what build are u running? just curious because i almost use the same skill setup for pve
hej,
in terms of gear and power/hybrid/condi its all situational..
would be good if u had a full berserker set and a hybrid (viper/sinister) set since
different encounters and different length of fights require different gear and different builds if you want to reach maximum dps for ur situation (fights >40sec or tough mobs with heavy armor for condi)..
berserker gear is easy to come by..my personal problem is the time and money needed to get a full viper/sinister set
Hej, im leveling my Warrior at the moment and
looking forward playing a phalanx spec laterz
I was just wondering in terms of dps: how big is the dps difference between
oldschool Warri with them Signets compared to Bersi?
Im asking coz i want to use signets since mobility (swiftness) is one of my most important aspects in a fun class, which means i’d stick to Warrior Phalanx.
[in context of 1-80 lvl fractals, raids, open world zerg]
greetings!
Hi,
i’m wondering what you think about the state of power necro/reaper builds in comparison with condi builds..
In context of raid/group environment and mobs that stay alive for more than 20sec.
My feeling is, that power necros are not nearly as powerfull as viper/sinister necros.
This is based on how condi works against heavy armor and that in most challenging content i think the condi builds are ahead in dmg (high fractals/raids).
Im asking because i love plaing power necros, but i feel like im never contributing as much as condis.
Do u think thats a wrong assumption?
Should power builds in general get some sort of push to be on par with condi builds?
This is all about pve..
greetings
The Problem here is absolutely NOT the minion leveling spec, but rather the
attitude of the player…
I played minions..as soon as i turned 80 and unlocked all reaper traits i transitioned
to a dungeon/fractal dps build and it worked out pretty well..
Its a bit elitist to tell new players to run with Spec XY so they can “learn how to play” when they would maybe have much more fun and satisfaction running a different build that leads them safe towards endgame.
edit :: reaper minionmaster wont give u a bad time in HoT
especially with rise
in party play/eventzergs thats a difference, but the good player will figure that out by themselves..
This player here already uses the forum..i doubt he would turn into a bowboneminion rangermaster
(edited by schmu.4630)
All this minion hate
Seriously i had a great, fast and save leveling experience with minions!
- Get Signet of Locust and ur first minions (bloodfiend, boneminions etc.)
-> alternatively/additionally use Sigil of Speed and stack swiftness while leveling, thats what i did with every class.. speed > all
- Spec Death Magic
- Get a dagger
- when turning 45 spec Blood Magic (trait the 25% dagger movement)
- now use all minions
up until 80 that gives u a great time… (i leveled almost every class except engineer to 80 and compared to them the minion master leveling is one of the easiest)
minions rock from 21-80 and when u encounter a champ u dont need to wait for backup
after that u can do the usual spite/blood magic/reaper 2 wells bla
edit: use dagger/focus and a warhorn in second slot
(edited by schmu.4630)
If asthetics is important for u (my main reason for deciding) u could check how different light armor sets look on different races..
im very happy about the looks of my human reaper in Arah dungeon set for example!
How about Ranger runes?
Do minions like bone fiend/flesh golem activate the 7% dmg bonus?
