ANet have new staff, good PR that lies a lot and tells the devs what to say (then does a complete 180 on what they said would happen) to make more money. They aren’t the ANet we knew during GW1.

So you know guys … FoTM and Asceded gear was created for players (HC PvE) who wants to progress pve. So if players want to progress it you bet they will be picky, I am hc pve player myself with about 200+ explorable dungeon runs and you bet I am really not inviting just some randoms with bad gear and no skills.

So again, just repeating. FoTM was created mainly for level 80 level HC players who wants to progress. So I dont see any reason to complain about elitism .. cause thats how it is.

So you bet that random/pug groups are going to have problems in this dungeons, you bet that players that want to finish every difficulty possible will ask for best players only. If you dont like it, make your OWN group and just run difficultry one with whoever you want.

I will make mine group of elitist players and nothing you can do about it.

Yet those of us that first heard about the gear stat increase were told “it wont be that bad, stop exaggerating” when we said this would be exactly what would happen.

The only problem is we were wrong… we expected it to be a few days… low and behold its just a few HOURS. LOL

My biggest complaint is that now I can’t really do any of the prestige stuff I was planning to do. I was gonna focus on WvW and, like, hunt up some cute skins, maybe start saving up to forge some weird semi-legendary, level some additional craft skills if I was bored. But all of that gets sidelined by this weird new ridiculous thing with higher stats that I need to pick up now.

Power-creep in gear stats is awful, because it actively distracts you from actually doing anything other than farming that kitten gear.

You can keep a game fresh and interesting without going back on your word and betraying the customers that put you on the map.

GW2 players are not opposed to change. We are opposed being lied to.

Since release, there was been rampant feedback that the game needs “more stuff to get”. “More stuff to do”. “More things to aspire to”.

In other words, thousands and thousands of posts have asked for exactly this Ascended gear.

ANet didn’t lie to us. They listened to player feedback. And this just goes to show why as a developer you really shouldn’t listen to your players, because unlike developers they might think they know what’s good for the game, but they (or me) probably have exactly 0 actual clue.

Decided I was going to go for legendary GS for my tank. Started farming pent/shelt event in Orr (most efficient way i know) for money to fund the sword. The farm was going great, lots of rare drop to sell and each gold coin I made I felt closer to my goal; until Nov 15. update. BOOM!!, rare drop now become porous bone and lots of it. I don’t know if this was intentional or a bug, but now something that I calculated was going to take me about 6 months to get, has now been extended by 3x if not longer. nty anet nty, I’m a 8 to 4 guy, and only got about 2hr a day to play. FYI everyone in my guild has stop playing the game a month ago, but I told myself its going to be great, and I think its great! but if you going to make it so that it require people to put more time into it, I bit you farewell - Loyal fan of GW1, 6 years.

THAT is why you are seeing complaints from a lot of players. All they want is for a dev to respond to these complaints, and the devs just arent doing it.

What manifesto? All I see now is just a well written PR sales talk, and apparently it worked very well.

Yes we need the the trinity back and we will all be whole again. group finder,duelling,mounts,gear treadmill.
And for those who dont have time to grind just put the stat stuff in the store :we need to cater to everyone here.

I think then the game would be whole and worth continuing to play.

I’d rather pay a monthly fee and get the Guild Wars 2 I thought I was going to be playing.

Amazing how money clouds vision and really stops a game fulfilling its true potential.

It doesn’t matter what they said they’d do or they’d never do. It doesn’t matter one bit since what they say is no indicator for what they do.

I agree with you ganzo and i feel the same way. I do. However I really truly beleive that this is not happening here. They are upgrading the stats of gear already ingame. Im sorry if im starting to sound like a broken record here but really, people seem to be missing this major point.

There is a point missing… there is no real answer by the team.

If this new set is only a “gap filling” ok… a lost a month of play for nothing, aiming in the wrong direction… ill collect the new tier and i start the game again but this is the last time.

But if its the start of a new trend… I really want to know it…because this is not what a payed for, and this is not the thing a want to pay in the future.

we need a clear and DEFINITIVE ANSWER about the future…

and for the player that say

take is easy, its only a game, play and dont cry

its not only a game, its my free time, its my hobby, and its my money…so i dont take it easy.
