I had the same problem…. then I realised I don’t care for some achievement points
. They are mostly grindy-like… what is not an achievement but only a to-do-list
My suggestion: stop caring too.
Greetings everyone – I’ll make it as short as possible:
I feel like dungeons in this game are just a skipping puzzle and feel boring after you’ve done them a few times. You try to evade as much trouble as you can so you can finish the dungeon as fast as possible to get the rewards.
So … how about … that each mob in the dungeon grants your team points wich will end up in additional cash and tokens in the end of the run. So if you skip everything you’ll be fast but get less rewards. If you clear the whole dungeon even CoF1 takes 20 minutes to deal with but grants you more rewards.
It probably shouldn’t affect infinite spawned mobs like CoF2 helping megg to blow up the entrance to the endboss etc.
Also what about even more rewards like “you have never been downed this run -> +5% token” or “you rescured a downed ally with less than 25% HP, brave heart! +5% token” or what ever!
I wish there would be just MORE to do in a dungeon than just get trough there. Maybe even a randomized bonus mission like “if noone dies in this run +5% cash” “if you kill every boss before it’s adds +5% cash” etc etc etc.
I honestly think it would improve gameplay and generate more fun also buffing defensive equipment like healing guards, mesmer, or tanky condition builds. so…
what do you think??

I could no longer create a new topic in the Suggestions forum so I guess I’ll just leave this here. I apologize if this is the wrong place to post this. Anyways.
After working 12 hour shifts at a mind-numbing job, I tend to zone out and just think hours on end. On one of many of these occasions the subject was Guild Wars 2 and what is an idea that could be implemented to further my gaming experience. I probably have a mild case of OCD, so I like to go about things in an organized manner and this would help my OCD tendencies as well as make my GW2 experience better all-around. This is what I came up with and I believe it could be a great implementation to GW2.
The Hero’s Journal
What is the Hero’s Journal?
The Hero’s Journal would be an in-game document system that would allow the player to record and save text documents to help the player progress. There could be MANY uses for this system, here are a few examples that I have come up with:
• Note Taking
• Self-made guides
• Character oriented short story (for those literature junkies)
• Game Strategies
• Guild Member data sheets (For those organized Guild Leaders)
• Profession Build storage (since we don’t have this already)
• Keep track of daily character tasks (Making Charged Quartz and Bolts of Damask, etc.)
Now you may be asking what specifically do I mean by a player made documentation system. I consider myself a pretty decent player, but there are those times that I forget a certain place to stack, or a certain boss attack that I need to dodge, or a particular skill that I need for a dungeon and I end up being calling a “noob” of sorts simply because this is particular content that I have not done for a while. If I had my own in-game note taking system, it would eliminate this problem.
Say I haven’t done fractals in a while, I’m about to fight Captain Mai Trin, and I’ve completely forgot that you need to pull her into the lighting aoe attacks to drop her shield down. What do I do other than look like a complete noob in front of my party? Well, the solution is easy. I could simply press a hotkey or go into my Hero’s panel, click on “Hero’s Journal”, go to the section I’ve labeled “FOTM” and read my notes on the mechanics of this fight. Not only would the fight go a lot smoother after being refreshed on the mechanics, but I wouldn’t embarrass myself in a group of pugs, get kicked from the party, and lose all the time that I dedicated to getting to the final fractal.

I’m sorry you ran into people like that. For them, “winning” is everything and they are happy to point fingers — just so long as they don’t point at themselves. They may outrank you on levels and build — but they’ll never outrank you where it matters.
They should try Real Life — just for a change of pace.

I assume the lore forum is going to be expanded upon, right? So players can talk everything story-related there, like the living story and the personal story.
What I can say is that we are not finished with the forum changes.
If they ever bring back the Suggestions subforum, I would “suggest” that they make it a category, and divide it into subforums.
Make one for General PvE, one for sPvP, one for WvW, one for Guilds, well, you get the picture.
It was hard to search for a thread on Guild Tools when it was buried under a ton of “I Want” threads that had nothing to do with guilds.
In the meantime, I am willing to try it for a while and see if it works this way.
If forums are changing then it’d be nice to have a PvE section. It fills odd to have PvP, WvW but no PvE which is just mixed in general GW2 and not completely covered : no fractal and no open world sections…
About the recent changes, it makes sense to me : suggestions will be way easier to use for them. And honestly those forums are mostly about complaining/being glad and suggestions in a form or another : either way it’s about giving feedback so let’s sort all form of feedback the same way.
I understand that generally game comparisons are not allowed so I will keep that part to a minimum. After recently getting an actual gaming pc and being able to experience the game at max settings for the first times, this game is absolutely gorgeous and I tip my hat to the people in charge of the art direction.
I used to come from games like WoW and recently tried Rift, and I humbly respect both those games for what they’ve contributed as well. This is my own opinion, but Guild Wars 2 currently has my favorite visuals out of any mmo so far. Although graphics don’t make a good game, it’s really a treat for me to be able to play the game at max settings and appreciate a lot of the detail. xD
Hi everyone!
I am a Guild Wars veteran and still enjoy the great material that ArenaNet produces. Looking back to the days of the original Guild Wars, a strong highlight of that series was the hands-on connection players had with the studio and the game. I am specifically referring to the “Design-a-Weapon” Contests that were held several times. I believe it was a great way to challenge the artistic players and make them feel part of the studio’s designing process.
Bringing back this popular event today would take the original basis and idealize it. With the improved modeling possibilities that is available through the Guild Wars 2 engine, the final fan designs can be fully brought out. This could, in fact, be a method to creating a new series of Ascended or Legendary Weapons. The chosen winners would receive in and out-of-game prizes, including the skin of their designed weapon mailed to their in-game account. That way they can enjoy using their own weapon right away before any other player. I believe this talented community would love to take part in this old tradition again.
Thank you for the consideration,
Frost

Please someone stab me in the eyes so I don’t ever have to see stuff like this again.
LOL,….you do this to yourself….you never listen…why can’t you just ignore them. You do not even have to open it up…don’t read it and then you get your wish.
I mean, I can ignore them for a little while, but eventually someone says something that I feel needs defending…note right now I am not defending…I am trying to help you….trust me you will feel better…without the arguments.

Why limit it to cultural armor? I love the idea of auras, but I don’t use any of the cultural armors.
They don’t necessarily have to modify the base skins/models for the effects.
likely because the first time such a filter is introduced they will work around it. The sheer amount of ways to write an URL make it nearly impossible to make the list. and surely, once you finally managed to get ALL these ways into the filter… they will change their name :P

vvwvv.guildwars2.com
and this list goes on and on … and then when you finally got them all…

Just a simple request, can we please get these looked at so they are more useful? Maybe instead of making them a level a character to level 20 only item, you could give them more versatility by adding an extra leveling alternative for alts.
e.g.
Experience scroll – Level a character under level 20 to level 20
– Characters over level 20 gain 10-20 levels.
I don’t think that needs any compensation especially with that attitude.
I’m opposed because the dynamic leveling lets you do something you can’t do in MMOs without this feature: playing with your lowbie friends on a max level character. There’s other problems too that would arrive if you remove this feature. Players would be regulated to zones that match their level, going to a lower zone without this feature would allow high level players to grief lowbies because they’d be one shotting all the mobs before the lowbies could even land a hit., boss mobs would be trivialized in lower zones (I mean to the point that they could be one shotted like a common mob), it’d force events like the tower of nightmares, and such to exclude a significant portion of the player base.

No to black/dark elves.
I love elves, but they do not fit in GW lore.
I would first and foremost like to see tengu then perhaps largos. Beyond that Anet will need to think outside the box. Or just stop there, not like we really need more races as such.
I’m colorblind, and I’ve enjoyed playing this game off and on since it’s release.
The off and on part may get your attention. One of the biggest reasons I haven’t been playing constantly, is because I feel… well, for lack of a better word, neglected. Let me explain.
I’ve played a LOT of MMO’s over the years. (Runescape, WoW, Rift, TOR, just to name a few.) And all of them added colorblind support at some point after their development. In TOR’s case, they took steps to improve the game’s playabilty for colorblind players within the first few months of release.
So my question is this. Why hasn’t Anet followed suit, after over a year? I can’t be the only person having this problem. The biggest of which is not being able to see enemy AOE circles in combat, because they’re typically thin red circles on brown or green backgrounds, that are nearly impossible for me to discern in time to react properly.
I’ve done maybe.. 2 dungeons in the entire time I’ve been playing GW2, because I know I’ll be nothing but a liability, because I’ll end up missing an AOE because I just can’t see it. A physical limitation that can be mitigated shouldn’t keep people from enjoying a game they want desperately to enjoy.
So solutions to this problem? TOR made it very simple. they used thin red lines to denote enemy AOEs in the beginning. how did they fix it? they turned it into a VERY thick, easy to spot crosshair. that also spun inside the circle. The movement alone makes it exponentially easier to see. This is a possible solution. Also, the ability to tweak the enemy AOE circle’s colors and/or thickness, or add a personalized graphic to the interior of the AOE circle is another option.
I don’t feel like I’m asking too much, personally. I want to continue playing GW2, but I also want to be able to enjoy the experience, instead of just getting frustrated by physical limitations I was born with.
TLDR: Can we please get options for colorblind players to tweak the game and make it enjoyable for them as well?
thoughts? thanks.
I can empathize with having a busy life and not always being able to fit my gaming schedule in between work, home life, and social commitments. Your comments are not lost on us.
We’re exploring some ideas for the future, including a system that would allow certain bits of Living World content to be accessed independent of the release. Plans and designs have not been solidified yet, so I want to temper your expectations. But if you have any opinions on the matter feel free to let us know. We’re already looking at ways to leave some LW content behind to evolve Tyria and improve the game. This would be one element of it, should we decide to build such a feature.
Or maybe even just outlines.

Hello all,
I keep looking for another weekend where you can invite a friend, but it seems a little long in between (or I’m just not finding the option anywhere).
I’d suggest that like GuildWars, bring on the 10 day free trial. That way I can invite several that I know that want to try a piece before they buy. They’re really interested, but they don’t want to jump in yet.
Just a thought,
S
Make blueprints accountbound! I waste at least 5-10 spaces on EVERY character I own because I can’t stack them in the bank. It’s a waste of space. I rarely WvW but it feels like a waste to just delete them.
Please make it happen.
Or just do what everyone else has done, wait for the weekly server update, keep your fingers crossed for the right color and then explore as much as you can.
It took me about 2 months to get the last 4%, because my server just did not get the Blue color.
If ANET were to allow some sort of neutrality/white flag now for WvW exploration, then they might as well just remove it as a requirement.
I’d like to make a suggestion regarding currencies, al though I’m not sure if such topic has been created before, as I’ve searched this forum for such topic.
So, the curencies e.g. the ones you get from Dungeon explore mode and any other type of currencies (except Coin • Gem • Glory • Influence • Karma • Laurel), if those currencies could be put in a tab, rather than in your bags.
Since a lot of items like, harvesting items, gear, “fun” items and any other useful items, fills up your bags at an alarming rate. You might say, make bigger bags… But that wouldn’t be necessary if at least all the dungeon currencies, etc, could be put into a separate tab, which doesn’t share with your bag space.
It might not free a lot of bag space, but it can also view all your currencies in a nice layout to easily spot and calculate how much of this and that currency you need, for a certain item.
I am glad to hear that there are some tweaks in effect on currencies. I would love to see dungeon tokens go the route of laurels. I truly hope that you do not change it to a universal dungeon token system as that would mean people will simply go the path of least resistance to get the armor they want which simply invalidates what the armor represents.
Hello, my suggestion is pretty simple, that’s to lower the cost of the Tier 3 Cultural Armor for all races. As it stands right now, the cost for the full suit which is only Rare, costs more than a suit of Exotic from the TP. The cost is over 100g.
In addition, I believe the cost should be lowered to reflect the price increase from Tier 1 to Tier 2. Tier 1 is somewhere around 2G, Tier 2 is somewhere around 7-8G. Then we have the jump from T2 to T3, which is over 100G as mentioned before. It just doesn’t make sense to me. I mean, I understand the concept behind vanity items, but I don’t see this armor as being that. It isn’t just for looks, you know?
As it stands now I’m considered a casual player (was hardcore til recent RL events prevented me from playing) and I’ve got my eye on T3 gear, and just can’t put the same amount of time back into the game to get enough gold to purchase it. In fact, a lot of people can’t make that kind of a purchase.
Anyways, that’s my two cents. To those who disagree I ask you; Why do you think T3 Cultural Armor, which is Rare, should cost over 100g? I’m interested in hearing the other side.
