I was distracted, did they mention if Bound breaks stealth on hit when comboing? Or it will work like heartseeker? It looks great and the damage is solid, so I hope I can synergize it with my build.
It works the same as Heartseeker.
I often find it impossible to tell exactly how many of each team is at a certain point. Sometimes all I see is blue, when there are actually a couple of reds in there as well. This isn’t helped by the sometimes huge number of mesmer clones.
Instead, how about reducing the size of the icons and not allowing them to overlap? Maybe arrange them in a circle…The loss of precision doesn’t matter much because the map icons are mainly for people in other areas of the map to get an idea where everyone is. People in the thick of it don’t need to look at the map to know who is where.
I think this would make map icons a bit more useful. Thoughts?
This is just embarrassing anet…

We should have a “Design a PvP hub map contest”.
Thinking about:
- NPC’s (merchant, bank, ambient life)
- Map theme (desert, snow, jungle)
- Map layout (merchants, practice area, verticality)
- Activities during queues (jumping puzzle, 1v1 arena)
- Practice golems (condi transfer golem, kite golem, heal golem)
Great idea!
They’re the Black Eyed Peas. And I finally killed them.
A new thread to contain both links and all the information about the subreddits I created to help the PvP players network easier than the current methods and so help the PvP scene grow with more competitive teams in the EU and NA regions.
The PvPTeam finder subreddit has been well used for a while now and the new TeamScrims finder subreddit is growing too.
PLEASE READ the RULES before you post!
They are located in the sidebar on the right hand side of the page. They also describe the workings and format of the subreddits.
If you are…
- LF a PvP team to join.
- LF player(s) to join your PvP team.
- LF a PvP guild to join.
- LF players to join your PvP guild.
- LF a team or player(s) to coach.
- LF a coach for your team/yourself.
Then visit:
https://www.reddit.com/r/GuildWars2PvPTeams/
If you already have a team and are looking for other teams to scrim against for practice then add your team to the growing list @…
https://www.reddit.com/r/GuildWars2TeamScrims/
Why I created these subreddits:
I want to see more competitive teams in the PvP scene and I felt that if I could make it easier for PvP players to network with each other and form teams that would be of great benefit to the scene and the players within it.
So I created these subreddits in order to provide a space for people to post their PvP “looking for” posts, where they won’t be buried by the large amount of PvX, PvE and WvW posts, as the these types of posts are so few and far between.
These subreddits allow the PvP players to view all the posts they are interested in, in one place with ease. It also means that you do not need to worry about bumping your thread to keep it visible.
Answers to questions I’ve previously been asked:
Q – Why not use the “Looking for” section of the forums and /r/GuildRecruitment?
A – The idea with both of these subreddit based tools is that it is really easy to view all the posts that PvP players looking for something are actually interested in seeing. Currently PvP posts from players/teams that are looking for something are so few and far between that they quickly become buried by the much larger PvX community in this game. Here you don’t need to bump your posts and there is a clear format to follow, that makes finding what you are looking for quick and easy.
Q – Won’t this fragment the GW2 PvP reddit community?
A – Neither of these subreddits are designed to foster any sort of community within themselves whatsoever. They both merely function as a place to post non-discussion adverts. These are tools to use, not reddit communities and so I don’t believe that they fragment the discussion space for PvP subjects at all.
do you not know how to kite?
do you not know how to evade?
do you not know how to interupt skills?
do you not know how to cc
do you not know how to stealth
do you not know how to spike that person down first ?
do you not know how to condi clear?Cool your in a 5v5 and its chaotic for you and your overwhelmed and your burning stacks go high, but that’s the issue your not experienced enough to do said above..
-snip-
This is why no one “at the high level” goes on these forums because its full of people who complain literally subconsciously about their own skill level.
For ele (which are main complain atm):
- kiting ele is in many cases not possible or good idea due to:
a) eles are really mobile
b) kitting will lose you point; gl killing ele on point though, by them time you manage to kill ele his team probably gain few hundret points from that one point
- evade doesn’t help vs persistent aoe or channeled spells
- interrupt ceased to be an option since blinding ashes were introduced
- CC is hard to land on ele due to evades, absurd amount of dodges, stab, shocking aura and once again blinding ashes
- stealth doesn’t help vs burning since application is faster than SE (if you run it) can cleanse it and faster than stealth application; also stealth gives ele too much time to heal up
- the only time i ever saw ele being spiked is when me and one of the top mes on EU nuked not expecting ele at far point at the exactly same second; in most cases ele has multiple ways to survive spikes hence why current matches are total snooze fest as it takes too long to kill one
- there is not a single class in game (ironically besides ele) that can cleanse burning as frequently
The statment about players being inexperienced and overhelmed in fights is just your assumption and based on no facts. I don’t see how it is an argument in any way.
Hight tier players don’t post here because it is pointless. The high tier ele i know (which won esl multiple times) said that dd ele atm is too strong and fire line needs nerfing.
Now to other classes like burn guards and engis: once again the problem is that burning application is often aoe, instant or persistent aoe, basically pretty passive and hard to avoid.
I think burning base numbers should get reduced so players would be forced to run actual condi build with corresponding runes/sigils to make use of burning. Instant skills shouldn’t apply so many stacks. Passive skills shouldn’t apply burning as frequently.

Thanks to anyone who has kind words The Abjured and I really appreciate it.
Special shoutout to nearlight and infantrydiv. I really like your guys analytical posts and not just for this post you do them other times too. Though I did like the ones in this thread especially.
As most of you saw we were super hyped after we beat TCG. We scrimmed them quite a few times lately and almost never won more than we lost. Especially about 2 days before we left I think we actually went something like 0-8 in one scrim against them which wasn’t encouraging to say the least. There were some close ones but 0 wins during a scrim session is still 0 wins.
Be it the difference in lag from always scrimming on EU servers and then going to LAN, or TCGs lack of lan experience causing nerves or something, or us just playing especially well, or a combination of this and more things, we were able to come out with that win.
And I really have to thank TCG because our scrims against them helped us a ton and taught us a new way to rotate which everyone in this thread and others is noticing via toker fanboy/girling which I’ll join that club anyday. Anyways, in the past we always leave our dps middle and me and nos handle outers nodes. During WTS we started putting a tank middle/whatever node is being fought on and immediately give toker the freedom to rotate anywhere. Heck we’d often just put 1 tanky person on node to stall/die/suicide (hello plague form that thing is awesome) and the rest of us would immediately rotate away. Which was a beautiful thing to do against Tages ridiculously strong bunker guard which we would avoid fighting at all costs. We learned if Tage is in a fight we’d lose that fight 100% so we’d just let someone die/troll the node and everyone else rotate out immediately. Essentially delay tactics which TCG taught us is extremely valuable and we sort of mirrored it. Anyways, I do not think this new way of rotating is the end all be all. There are reasons we rotated the way we did before it’s just that we needed to adapt to how EU plays. Although I will say it works especially well with a necro. Necro has no mobility so if a fight looks sour we can just call for nos to die on node and the rest of us rotate and be useful. Nos can rez and +1 or fight a 1v1 at home, both of which is something Necro is extremely proficient at.
Anyways I sort of went on a tangent here. Back to the main story line. So I actually heard ROM say this before the tournament and I thought the exact same thing I just didn’t discuss it with him/others until after the tournament but TCG, ORNG, and us had a sort of rock paper scissor thing going on. TCG beats us, We beat ORNG, and ORNG beats TCG. This was all based on comp vs comp knowledge and scrims vs TCG. Which ORNG heard about our scrims against TCG somehow so that’s why they had the same suspicions we did about the rock paper scissor thing cause they knew we weren’t doing so hot against TCG.
So after we beat TCG this is why we were so darn hyped. We had just beaten the rock to our scissor and had paper to fight in the grand finals. Albeit a very skilled paper that we had just lost a BO3 too. We were playing so well and we had gotten the rotating down to a T against TCG so my suspicions were we were going to ride this hype train into wins against ORNG which I had originally thought we should be beating. I just needed to confirm my suspicions. After our first win in the Grand Finals of the first Bo3 on forest those suspicions were confirmed. At this point I think we would have originally been completely exhausted knowing we had to do two whole Bo3s but the hype just kept us alive for 3 more games to take the finals. Me and Nos are typically extremely calm dudes and we both lost our voices. The hype was real.
It was really awesome meeting so many of you peeps out there in real life at the convention so thanks for that.
Shouts outs to all the competitors in WTS. We all hung out like friends and had good times before and after the tournament.
Last but not least I’d like to give a huge thank you to Grouch. That man has done more for the pvp community than we will ever know. ROM and Denshee toasted to grouch at the dinner after the tournament thanking him and it was awesome.
Grouch also wanted me to tell you all that he loves it when you whisper him about when you will get your gems. So keep that up

This is a huge step in the right direction! If you are a naysayer, shut up! Anet is finally doing something right and we all need to bask in this rare moment of glory without any negativity! What I want to know is, will the rewards, titles, badges, and anything else that comes with the league system be available to people who did not purchase HoT?
Wahoo! Bye frands!

Sweet vid! Definitely fun to watch and I liked the face emotes :p
I liked the whole soundtrack except the heavy metal ;)
Pls don’t say that is heavy metal, it’s not, I think the official genre is “punk-kitten” metal.
Yea, i uh, didn’t care enough to get that politically correct :)
