For everyone that says this game isn’t social, maybe you should try being social and not just expecting the game to make you friends. Like Lucky said, it’s a two way street.

I am social, use /s a lot, talk with people, turns into whispers, group up, have fun. Never seems to last. People either are only on once a week, quit the game, are busy/have different interests next time I whisper them. Thats why I came to the Forums. Looking for that person to group with mosts nights and enjoy time together helping achieve things.

PS: I called this game the opposite of “not social” I complimented the games social system and then went on to explain my problem. Maybe read the whole OP.

I am not into putting much time into an alt atm, but some. Mostly I would like someone to run dungeons and fractals and living world content along with completion stuff like hunting any achievements. Add me if you’d like, I’ll be on tonight :-)

Edit: Im not in SBI but we can guest, and I am also in a guild you may like a lot more than your current. I left SBI to go to Tarnished Coast and love the move so far.

Most people rock a corrupted shard, especially ele’s because it looks like fire and frost. Good dagger skins pretty much don’t exist.

I personally am hoping for fractal skins eventually. But thats really bad with RNG.

People come and go. Try finding a guild that has been around a while. Don’t forget to reach out to guildies yourself. It is a two-way street.

Good point here also. I need to reach out more and find people. I have been in the guild and now on here as well.

I’ve got almost a hundred contacts and well over a hundred “followers”, but few people I’d call friends. There are loads of nice people but the game doesn’t lend itself to making close personal connections all that often I guess.

I find myself deleting people because we never talk and I like to keep my friends list consistent of people I do things with. And trust me I don’t just add and delete, most people I ask if they want to do this or that, but so many times people cant do things or are busy or whatever. I want a bud

I like how everyone is posting that they have the same problem but are not interested in trying to make friends anymore lol. Given up I guess. Every game I have played I’ve found one or two people that pretty much do everything together. Unfortunately they didn’t come with me to this game.

I have done this just recently, and probably should post something similar to this in our guild forums if I want a “buddy” or two. It is just nice to have that person you do a lot with, helping each other achieve everything they want. This game just seems to have two types of people (mostly).

1) New people that don’t end up staying
2) People that have been here since beta that don’t care too much for new freinds because they’re already done all the stuff I want to do.

I fit in as # 3) New but confident I am staying for a long time, and want to find others that want to accomplish all the same stuff. For example, taking on a handful of jumping puzzles every day until we both finish them all. Just as one example.

I guess server doesn’t matter a whole lot as you can always stay guested to your friends server.

The way this game built its community is amazing, but yes they need to keep the living world more engaging. Maybe make updates less often but add more stuff. Like the update back in the fall (or whenever it was, I wasn’t around) Where they added all the Fractals. That doesn’t need to be all the time, but even adding an update that big every 3 months, with once a month living world “fillers” would be awesome.

Anyway, back on topic, anyone that is in a place like I am where they play just about every night and want someone to buddy up with, let me know

I play pretty regular 7/8 PM EST for the majority of the evening.

I am relatively new to GW2 (1 month now) I have met several good people in this game, and all in all the community is amazing. However, it seems the friends I make either do not have the same focus, or are just not active, or quit the game after a while of playing, because they’ve played since launch.

I am on the Tarnished Coast server and would love to meet anyone that is in a similar situation. I am a competitionist, and with only 3k AP I have a lot left to get, and I also enjoy the challenge of the real hard PvE content.

I play all aspects of the game, largely with the focus on PvE.
I want to obtain and farm high level fractals.
I want dungeon master.
I want to farm for legendary mats (If they release/improve skins I will actually buy one)

Mostly just want to meet people that are pretty serious about the game, not complaining about every new update, that want to have fun and complete stuff together, discuss builds, ect.
