I helped a guild colleague of mine (who was playing a Charr mesmer) with a personal story mission, and that was when he introduced me to two of the greatest things in Guild Wars 2 – Dinky and the Charr /surprised emote.
For me, it clicked when I first picked up the Elixir Gun and the Medkit.
I usually start out laying out bandages (just in case), then switch to the Elixir Gun and start shooting the enemy, stacking bleeding. When he comes closer, I put poison on him, lunge away with Acid Bomb or Rocket Boots, put cripple on him and bleed again.
Personally, I really like the idea of giving the Engineer a reliable long-range weapon, given that his regular weapons are more of a mid-range thing. I especially like the idea of using Trick Arrows, as some here called it.
Of course, in an ideal world, my dream of a rocket launcher kit would come true – but that’s probably a little unrealistic, since the grenade kit fills the “ranged AoE damage”-niche pretty well.

The camera.
Oh, you want to do a jumping puzzle? Sure thing, go ahea- Oh, woops, a stone got in the way. But isn’t the view of your character’s legs nice?
I’ve noticed that too (especially on my Asura), as far as I can tell it happens during armor/weapon swapping, when the game still loads the textures and models.
Also, no offense, but that face is terrifying.
Also choose Dinky!
Choosing Dinky? As in “there are other options”? Unacceptable.
that would only matter if every single enemy clubs you on the head
That really isn’t my point. If anything hits you, you’ll be moving slowly. If you get hit with a flame blast, you’ll start running slower. If you get hit with an arrow, even more so.
In most cases.
Personally, I’d start running even faster, and possibly crying.
Hey there.
Recently, I had a… let’s call it discussion with some guy about how he thinks I should just delete my Asuran ranger because they’re all about magic and Zojja is an elementalist and blah blah. Now, this thread isn’t about that, but he did get me thinking – are Asura, and especially their magitech, ecofriendly?
I mean, I have seen a veritable kittenload of Asuran buildings covered in plants, plus that renown heart event about Dr. Bleent’s oozes, which indicate that they don’t mind or even protect their surroundings a little, but is there anything definite said about that?
The Norn for example, call their ritualists shamans (those who commune with the spirits).
To be fair, these aren’t spirits in the Guild Wars 1 sense. They’re spirits of the wild; if I got that correctly, they’re more like avatars of different animals and traits.
I usually salvage them. You can get ectoplasm fragments out of them, which sell pretty well.
The first (and to date only) time I managed to finish Goemm’s Laboratory.
It was my first jumping puzzle, I spent 4 hours at it and it felt rewarding as hell.
“Turn around, and charge!”
Pretty much all of the Asuran Necromancer’s lines are great. Bonus points go to “Each more hideous than the last!”, though. He sounds so happy when he says it.
