you chose the wrong highlight in your menu haha. it highlights “donate” atm
otherwise: interesting stuff
the highlighting of the donate button is intentional. but not a popular button haha
dont think ive gotten a single donation (for this project specifically) since it began

The 3 year complaint would work if one thing were true… they were working on an expansion for 3 years. This is an incorrect assumption.

Hey guys,
I made use of the new API if any of you would like to check it out. Simply login and include your API key to see your in game transactions:
http://gw2tno.com/ – The Nameless Ones [TNO]
Slightly unrelated question, do we know the max character limit on API Keys? (Building a database for accounts and need to know for optimizations)
http://gw2tno.com/ – The Nameless Ones [TNO]
I’m hoping that once it stabilizes, more account attributes would be available via the authenticated API? Things such as characters and their attributes perhaps?
Yeah, we’ll be releasing new authenticated endpoints once the changeover happens. On the docket are trading post data, character details, account bank and material storage, as well as some other things.
Not gonna land all at once, but that’s more-or-less what’s currently in the works.
I can’t wait! I’ve got so many new tool ideas haha
http://gw2tno.com/ – The Nameless Ones [TNO]
Uhh, I’m pretty sure that’s a bug. Right now we display items that have been looted or bought off the trading post. Should add “bought by a vendor” as another way to get on the whitelist.
That would be awesome! Maybe make it possible to know which currencies as well? IE karma items… karma currency, gold items… gold currency, etc.
Not sure how feasible it is, but a vendor endpoint is definitely on the backlog.
Great! I can’t wait to utilize it!

Hey, I came across this item, http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Foraging_Sickle
I went snooping around in my item databases (which get pulled directly from ANet APIs) but could not find any reference to it. Are there particular items that get omitted from the Item APIs?
http://gw2tno.com/ – The Nameless Ones [TNO]
Looks like it’s been fixed, thanks guys!
http://gw2tno.com/ – The Nameless Ones [TNO]
Thanks guys! Definitely appreciate the quick turnaround.
http://gw2tno.com/ – The Nameless Ones [TNO]
Not until after HoT as mentioned by ANet.
http://gw2tno.com/ – The Nameless Ones [TNO]
I second this, please fix:
http://gw2tno.com/ – The Nameless Ones [TNO]
It’s been fairly quiet for a couple months now and we’re starting to lose our players again. ANet, I understand you probably have a bit of work on your plate and you probably didn’t start updating guild content for HoT until that Fall Guild CDI took place but why did you stop giving us information about the expansion?
I understand some parts might not be finished but it feels like we hit a wall. The 2 week updates are seemingly on autopilot with 2-3 gem store releases and hot fixes. Where did the update plan go? Was the announcement of the expansion the time buyer you needed to cease regular updates to the game?
I’m not asking for a whole new story, just something… different.
http://gw2tno.com/ – The Nameless Ones [TNO]
Hey guys,
I just wanted to let you all know that I will be updating the API urls to account for a CSV option as requested by several for this feature.
As such apis such as the following will change from:
http://www.gw2shinies.com/api/forge/24274
to
http://www.gw2shinies.com/api/json/forge/24274 for the JSON/JSONP option and
http://www.gw2shinies.com/api/csv/forge/24274 for the CSV dump file
This change will be in place in an hour or two from this posting.
Sincerely,
RebornGeek

What about making it so that after 50 000 forgings, or any other number deemed appropriate, the item enters the API?
If 50k or 100k of these items have been made, they’re hardly a secret any more, unless they were made by a mere handful of people. Maybe have unique crafters as a criterium too.
I disagree because the 50k times it was forged could have been by 2 or 3 people.
http://gw2tno.com/ – The Nameless Ones [TNO]
So why should the .175% of players effected by this be catered to?
(Yes, that is the percentage given by Chris Cleary)
Why should security be reduced in an effort to limit and hamper gold seller activities because a few rich players feel like they are getting punished?
Why should I have to be less protected because I don’t have thousands of gold?
It’s .175% now? I must have missed the memo!
http://gw2tno.com/ – The Nameless Ones [TNO]
How about this for a better implementation? You can continue limiting gold received in the mail, but gold in the guild bank is a guild effort, and you would reasonably expect the leader to use it to fund guild activities (like a lottery). The amount of gold you can withdraw from a guild bank is a gradient:
500g
+ did the guild complete bounty this week? 100g
+ did the guild complete puzzle this week? 100g
+ did the guild complete challenge this week? 100g
+ number of active members this week * 1g eachif gold threshold > 850g, gold transfer threshold is unrestricted for the week.
This implies that a gold seller would need to maintain an active guild that has it’s members actively participating in in-game guild activities.
Having a hard limit like we have now, just encourages the gold sellers to trade in things like ectos.
I like this idea and I think you’re definitely on the right track in asking for a better verification process. However, this does raise some issues… The seemingly most obvious issue is that many players that actively play the game may not care about guild missions. In particular this would include players that no longer need the commendations (though one could argue that it’s easy money), but also PvP focused players may opt out from missions.
But again a better verification process to identify an active player would be ideal.
http://gw2tno.com/ – The Nameless Ones [TNO]
It’s easy to defend the opposing side of an argument when you are not affected by it whatsoever :P
In real life banks also have withdraw limits. I’m sure that it affects someone, but we put up with it for better security.
This is irrelevant since the withdrawal limits in real life are in place for different reasons. IE. for cash reserves, limited atm funding, asset protection.
None of this is relevant to Guild Wars 2 since ANet did not put this system in place for these reasons.
http://gw2tno.com/ – The Nameless Ones [TNO]
And ANet’s top priority should be 1% of the users.. why? Obviously they did this for a good reason, or they wouldn’t have done it. If your crazy lottery is inhibited by it, that’s a shame, but anybody throwing their money away on the pretense of a lottery should expect they’re being scammed anyway. This change does not affect normal operation of the game at all, so I fail to see why it’s any of ArenaNet’s concern.
It’s easy to defend the opposing side of an argument when you are not affected by it whatsoever :P
http://gw2tno.com/ – The Nameless Ones [TNO]
I’d like to kick this thread off by saying this is by far the most inconvenient system I’ve seen come into play by ArenaNet. I haven’t even finished the first week with this change in place without running into gold cap from my members. I run 2 lotteries (weekly and legendary), I get donations, I get premium fees, I get funding for seasonal giveaways… I am the 1% crippled by this new process.
I don’t know how this is going to stop anyone, but now it’s going to force me to rewrite my systems to use items as currencies instead (which introduces issues like 15% TP taxes for resale, fluctuating prices, etc).
ANet, you had time to think about how this was going to affect the “1%” before integrating this into your routines. its been over 2.5 years and all of a sudden you integrate this system without having a plan for exceptions?
http://gw2tno.com/ – The Nameless Ones [TNO]
Offering free services is always the best move to make when providing tools for the gaming community. You’ll find that in most cases, ads will pay for your maintenance costs (assuming your app is semi popular).
http://gw2tno.com/ – The Nameless Ones [TNO]
You HAVE GOT to be kidding me. I’m a guild leader that runs a variety of events and I maintain a position as guild treasurer. There can be weeks where I receive ALOT MORE than 500g in mail.
I find this change not beneficial to people like me and very much oppose the way that this system is going to operate. Our Legendary weapon raffles alone are now going to be super frustrating.
I can’t remember a change this inconvenient ever since you put in that confirmation box for speeding up guild upgrades. We really enjoy the 40+ confirmation boxes we have to click every day for 24/7 guild buffs!
Sincerely,
Vlak

I took a break from playing around Wintersday event. I usually play GW2 for 2-4 hours a day. (more if i have time) I usually have a game in my browser that I’m workin on. Durring his particular break, there was nothing I wanted to play so I didn’t play at all.
I gotta tell you, I feel great. The aches and pains in my neck, shoulders, right arm and back improved immensely. I thought it was just age creeping up on me. I never realized what a hurting MMO’s were putting on me physcally. Ironicly, I’m in pretty good shape. I run and workout 4-5 times a week.
Am I just the odd man out? Has anyone else experienced this?
Be sure to invest in a chair with great lumbar support. It will take some of the focus off of your back. Of course, despite these quality of life improvements, it’s always best to get up and move around for a bit every hour or so.

Gw2tp already shows the amounts and values of every listing of an item in a scroll window on the top right corner.
Just wondering, if someone already made a website or spreadsheet that would visualize the supply of listings at all values in a graph?
Would be handy to identify at which value the bulk of supply is listed.
Hmm graphs as in a trading history graph that would cover ALL listings at the time it was recorded? If so, what you’re asking for requires ALOT of space. At that point its a question of, is it really needed?

HANDY…. I see it is limited to API items (tested it against some old pvp skins). Since this is http, do you have a way to do a search for something that includes a space?
urlencode.

Hey Scree, I wrote this a while ago for guild backend stuff, I hope it finds you well.
http://gw2tno.com/api/finditemidbyname/
This API will find all item ids that match your name query. If one item is found, a single array of parameters is returned; if multiple items are found, an array of item objects (also arrays) are returned. If no item is searched, it will return all items with ids+names
Usage
Example, Twilight – http://gw2tno.com/api/finditemidbyname/twilightIf you have any questions or issues, let me know.
I will have to make an App for Android for one subject at University and I will like to know if I can use it with your permission until ANet makes this functionality available in a few months. We are not allowed to put this apps in the Play Store, just so you can be sure it won’t be against you xD.
Permission granted, thank you for asking.

All the known combinations are already on the wiki. What are you REALLY looking for in terms of an interface?
To enhance a tool I just made.
Good job on gw2shinies. I like that website. Do you have the MF recipes in JSON format that we can download?
My feedback:
Would be even better if you can show the crafting tree like in gw2spidy if I click on a line of item:
http://www.gw2spidy.com/recipe/9269
So that I know which ingredient to buy and which ingredient to craft to maximize profit.
Yep crafting designs are in the works, but wont be available for a while. Working on some optimizations first. As for creating Mystic Forge recipes as an API. If you can get enough people onboard, interested in that feature, I will certainly provide it.

All I want for now is just 3 things:
- Some sort of authentication, so the API can get permission to get info about an account and its characters.
I put together a PR about upcoming /v2/account API. The PR has more details, but it’ll give you the ability to authenticate users and determine their homeworld (and eventually more stuff is planned for it).
Wanted to have it released this week, but having some fun technical issues with the deployment.
As a guild leader and a web/phone app developer, I took a look at the announcement of API authentication and immediately thought of the following possibilities for implementation:
Personal Account
- Personal bank contents, assets, wallet, etc
- Current guilds (with flag on current rep)
The personal bank account (and material storage) is planned for the /v2/account API (see the PR link above), as is the current guilds an account belongs to. The currently represented guild will probably live in /v2/characters, and the roster in an account-specific guild endpoint (haven’t really sorted out the design for that yet).
Anyway lemmie get some more writeups posted on Github for you guys to peruse.
Sounds awesome, cant wait!

You get on average roughly 1/3rd of the lower tier mat. So 50 in yields 16-17 out while 250 is 83-84. ON AVERAGE
I can’t say that enough. ON AVERAGE
The range for 250 in is 40 to 200. There’s been times I’ve gotten over 650 back from 5 stacks of 250, other times I got less than 300. But ON AVERAGE I get in the low 400s or roughly 1/3rd.
If you look up the target mat on the wiki I think the MF recipe listed there will give the proper range rather than the minimum.
I have data an 175, 250 in promotions. One moment …
40-49: 25
50-59: 20
60-69: 32
70-79: 27
80-89: 10
90-99: 8
100-109: 4
110-119: 10
120-129: 15
130-139: 7
140-149: 1
150-159: 4
160-169: 1
170-179: 4
180-189: 2
190-200: 5Median: 73
1st 20%: 40-53
2nd 20%: 54-66
3rd 20%: 67-80
4th 20%: 80-121
5th 20%: 121-199Mean: 86.75
1 sigma range: 51-127
2 sigma range: 42-190There’s the stats of my 175 MF promotions of 250 item stacks going into the MF. It doesn’t look like an X similar dice or a single RNG check.
That makes sense, thanks for the clarification!

So I was looking at the gw2 wiki at the yields that recipes give in the mystic forge. The dust recipe in particular for t6 claims that it yields from 6 to 40 crystalline dust.
What I would like to know is, are these outcomes weighted? Is there an EQUAL chance to land a 40 roll as there is to land a 6 roll?
..and if it is weighted, how are the weights distributed? Anyone know?
http://gw2tno.com/ – The Nameless Ones [TNO]
Well and I don’t have to get all of the recipes, just the ones that stay the same, ones that are well known (and well used) by the public.
http://gw2tno.com/ – The Nameless Ones [TNO]
Hey guys,
Does anyone know how long it takes after a patch goes live for the new items to propagate through the API and becomes ready to be pulled? I’m developing a website (http://gw2shinies.com) that needs to know when to update the item database.
Thanks in advance!
http://gw2tno.com/ – The Nameless Ones [TNO]
Hey guys,
I have a plethora of new revisions completed for the new Trading Post website called GW2Shinies.com
What I need from you guys is constructive feedback, stress testing, debugging, perhaps some new great ideas to add for useful tools (private or public)
New Additions:
- Snatch-It Tool (Calculates weakness in top sell order vs second sell order to see if theres a profitable margin in between)
- Watchlist (Currently tracks by public IP, optional logins for it will be added in second pass after feedback is acquired for it)
- Advanced Range Filters (You can now filter the item listings by ANY range of any attribute: buy, sell, supply, demand, profit, roi, level, etc)
FYI, trading history is currently limited to daily display (I will be adding 3day, 1week, 1month and 1year views to it this coming week). Also, this site hasn’t officially launched yet, so be gentle!
http://gw2tno.com/ – The Nameless Ones [TNO]
I opposed earlier. I’m still opposing.
Unlike crafting recipes, which are often bought as sheets and remain forever documented in your UI after you learn them, the combinations of the forge are intended to be a puzzle. They are a secret, and their revelation to the world at large remains at the discretion of the players that discover them. Or, in a single case, at the discretion of John Smith ;D
Like dungeon exotic recipes, the products of forge combinations can be real money makers. But that only works while the combination remains a secret. If one person can work out something at the forge, there’s a very good chance that someone else will be able to replicate the discovery. But that doesn’t mean that the first person shouldn’t get to benefit in the interim.
At least, that’s the purpose I assume you are concerned with making an API for – to ensure that all discoveries immediately go public. In real terms, it would be functionally impossible to document every combination that could go in to and come out from the forge. The reason for this is because of the possibility to input random combinations of gear or upgrades in and get a random one back out. There’s about 30000^5 combinations to cover here just from weapons and armor alone.
That actually makes alot of sense. I didn’t even think about all possible combinations in the forge, just the popular combinations. Thanks for the clarification. I guess building by hand it is!
http://gw2tno.com/ – The Nameless Ones [TNO]
So someone may/may not have asked this before so I apologize in advance…
Anet, you have a recipes API, but why not a Mystic Forge recipes API? Compiling a list of all known MF recipes becomes obselete/outdated with every new patch that introduces both new recipes and changes old ones for the Mystic Forge.
Unfortunately I don’t have that kind of time, but I have great ideas to make use of a MF Recipe API. Anyone else feel this way?
http://gw2tno.com/ – The Nameless Ones [TNO]
Made some improvements, added sliders, cleaned it up a little bit.
http://gw2tno.com/ – The Nameless Ones [TNO]
looks good. would be nice if you could somehow filter out the items that shouldn’t be on the TP/have a massive and obvious disparity between supply and demand
There will be a new tool for that (maybe even merge it with the budget tool) that will use an algorythm designed to weed out bogus listings.
http://gw2tno.com/ – The Nameless Ones [TNO]
Are you gonna add any features that gw2tp doesnt have?
I plan to yes, if you have suggestions, certainly feel free to share
http://gw2tno.com/ – The Nameless Ones [TNO]
So I whipped up the first of a series of tools I plan to release with my new TP site on launch. I understand there will be trolling and perhaps some constructive criticisms.
I’m only interested in the latter. Please share your thoughts, questions, comments, maybe even proposed enhancements to make this tool more useful.
Designs are not finalized, this is just built for functionality right now (the tool and the rest of the site)
P.S. I haven’t optimized for mobile yet, that comes last in the design process.
