Hey,

Is there a rate limit on the amount of requests I can make on the gw2 apis now? I can’t seem to make 272 requests (for 200 items each) to update my database every 5 minutes anymore.

I wanted to make sure it wasn’t just me.

For the guild stash endpoint, would it be possible to also fetch the string name of what guild leaders name each section of their guild vaults?

Yes, the key just needs the “guilds” permission. All of the APIs tied to it are read-only, so it should be safe.

Listed items require discovery.

One of my users brought to my attention that stats were missing on certain items and I pinpointed it to how the data is being presented for ascended items (in this particular case, trinkets):

I noticed that a portion of the stats are thrown into infix upgrades rather than being added to the attributes pool and have to ask why is this so?

Why not just join the two into the attributes fields?

Would it be possible to add the collection set that the mini belongs to into this API? I have a few users looking to view by collection.

Because I don’t get all these newfangled entitled instant gratification lines of thinking.

At no point did I say I wanted everything quickly. I simply don’t want to have to pester my members to get things going.

As a guild leader, I take it as my job to efficiently provide services for my members.

I lost that ability when HoT launched. Due to the upgrade system I won’t be able to get it back for at least a month. In the mean time, my members are left worse off than they were a month ago.

You’re not alone thump. I feel the same way about pestering my members. It’s a necessity and I often remind them what they’re getting out of it, for donating (Bad tavern buffs, an actual guild arena, etc).

The last few items like these that dropped from world bosses were collection items for legendary crafting. I purchased all legendary crafting collection quests, so its a part of one of them, but it requires a second part.

I could be wrong but if these aren’t part of legendary crafting collections, then they may very well belong to Guild Hall scribing recipes that would use those to build Trophy decorations.

After having tested it last night with guildees, here are a few thoughts:

• For missions, it only ports to challenge and puzzle locations (only the current weekly locations). They are not instance ports, but only port to the nearest WP outside of what would be its instance.
• There are two random locations aside from missions (LA Trader’s Forum and PvP Lobby). I have no idea why this made alot of since to ONLY include these 2 locations or why they were included at all.
• The personal transport functionality portals you… to desktop.
• The portal that opens doesn’t last very long.

Suggestion

• Why not open this feature up to all waypoints? To simply just let the user open the map, select the waypoint and go.

I understand that you don’t want people to hole up in their guild halls, but if there isn’t a personal bank added can the treasurer at least show items from your bank that are on the donate list? Maybe also a component donation that would hold the mats needed until accessed by someone with the required crafting discipline to make the full item?

There is a personal bank in the Guild Hall. It comes in the form of the Scribing station. Also, the treasurer shows what items you can donate towards the guild upgrades IF the guild needs it for upgrades and IF you have it in your inventory.

I agree with this and also just want to add that while it does seem to perform as expected when opening a portal, we can only port to puzzle/challenge nearest WP locations and what seem to be 2 random destinations as well, LA and PvP Lobby.

While the 2 extra destinations are welcomed, 1 is already easily accessible at the top and I don’t quite understand why we can’t just mass portal to any WP (within reason) in the game?

Hmm, weird. It’s either a cache coherency issue, or maybe I whitelisted something I shouldn’t have (items in banks and character inventories are now being put in the whitelist queue — been blessing them all day). I’ll track this down tomorrow — it’s highly likely that the fix will just be to remove those bad skins from the listing.

I think that might be … glory? Which is marked as disabled, so it isn’t exposed via the endpoint. I’ll add in a blacklist next week so it doesn’t appear in the wallet.

Hmmm my mistake, either way my scripts observed new ids coming into the api like:

A much higher item ID than what was previously stored. So naturally, I assumed you were green-lighting IDs that were once hidden.

A vendor API that displays the inventory, prices and location of vendors is definitely something discussed, but it’s a bit of a nightmare to implement. There’s a bunch of vendors that aren’t player-accessible and they’re not easily distinguished from normal vendors. Like that Skritt merchant in the Mad King’s Labyrinth whose inventory displayed the stocks of Halloween skins for the raffle.

It might be more feasible if we consider only heart vendors, but I’d have to look to see if they’re easily enumerated.

Great work on letting the items from vendors (and elsewhere not before obtainable via API) begin to flow into the items API. My updater scripts have been pulling in new IDs all night.

Is it possible to add a karma cost as a field in your items API? I’d like to make a nice karma to gold tool :P

Only for the first character you logged into with the new patch, the others are fine.

It is nice to see that HoM is apparently now fixed.
It is however not nice to see, that you broke a whole bunch of other stuff doing so, and that is something i am not happy about.
Several dozens of achievements i have unlocked are now not unlocked anymore.
This Ranges from Collections to even the new Jumping Puzzle Achievement i did weeks ago when Lions Arch was first reworked.
Also, all the Living Story 2 Chapters i had previously unlocked have been taken away from me, and now you are suggesting i buy them for 200 Gems each.
For some odd reason, i also have to click through all of the training stuff AGAIN, and i am not even sure if you gave me the Hero Points back required to do that.

Is anyone else experiencing this issue or has anything else to add to the list?

To be fair, this patch wasn’t centered around the HoM fix. It just happened to be included.

2.) Your password system is terrible…I never know what my password is because your system is far far far far far far far far far too restrictive. I thing its “monkey purple wrench pool” right now. So easy to remember!

I’m glad your designers put effort into these two issues as they were game breaking before.

It’s interesting when someone complains that the password requirements are far far far far far far far far far too restrictive.

It’s always a good practice to hold onto those kinds of items. For some change might occur in the future where those that saved just might be glad they did.

How are you accessing those endpoints? Because GW2Shinies is pulling data just fine.

EDIT: Nevermind, I stand corrected. Only the transactions API is working. The v2/account endpoint at the very least is down. Please assist ANet!

I made a mockup of what I meant, in case you still don’t get it. See the attached image.

In this image, I’m selling a Bandit Trident for a little over 1 gold. I started this auction 1 week ago. Over the last 7 days, the market has moved, and the top selling offer is now below 1 gold.

This information is very relevant, even if you’re not a power trader. Right now, it’s a pain to find that information for each transaction.
