We are looking for self motivated EU commanders to help rebuild our EU core to survive T2 NA. We are also in need of ocx wvw guilds to call the server home.

We are fortunate enough to have havok during EU to backcap everything the enemy takes. However, it is incredibly stressful fending off 2 fronts at once during EU primetime. Any help or willing bodies will be appreciated.

I love how SoS went from overstack to imploding(http://www.gw2wvw.net/topic/sos-fa-mag-952014?page=4) and back to overstack again within a week.

There is a 7 day timer right after you transfer. It’s always better to do research before making a decision.

Yak’s bend is very good at holding their stuff. I recommend guilds to give this server a try!

This guild can deliver. I highly recommend if you like a mix of bags, fights, and PPT.

As a local militia, I enjoy running with Rx WvW leaders whenever they are tagged up. They’re very knowledgeable and entertaining. Very enjoyable experience.

I know a recent group of Team Shatter (FRAG) moved to SoR.

This is supposed to be hidden from the other 2 T1 servers! Once again, SoS oceanic strength relies heavily on the militia.

For the players/guilds actually involved in this match, I’m sure the history is quite different. Typically NA would be slightly won by SoR with the slightly more off covered SoS ticking higher during the day. Saying either server was stacked during this match is laughable, both of our servers were on the rise after both received an influx of guilds shortly before this match begun. I’m still of the belief that if SoR had won, we would of filled SoS’s shoes when they climbed to T1, and SoS would be in our position now. This match up was the deciding factor for the state of WvW for many month’s as a large assortment of guilds transferred to the winner of this match-up, thus creating the first properly covered server.

I was there, I was in VI/AoI. SoR was about the only server that could match SoS’s NA crew, thats why I put “pretty much.” Not a certainty, but the SoS NA crew would pull back ppt from the 4-6pm EST pushes (SoS was like BG, except no EU at all) and then end the nights 300+ppt to hand off to oceanic. They also had people like Kurthos and Patone literally playing entire days. Times were way different. lol

It’s PrX getting on SoS that got them up (much like WM pulled us, SBI, to T1). When these guilds left their respective server, the falling started.

When PrX was on, neither JQ or SBI could do much.

I admit PRX made NA prime more refreshing as they can usually hold their own. It took nearly 2 months for the decreased numbers to take effect as everyone else on the server burnt themselves out.

Edit: PRX isn’t the only capable NA guild on the server fyi.

DiE (Darkness is Everywhere), MERC, HL, and VotF were also keep members that kept us going strong.

I miss a lot of the individuals who left but of the guilds I miss VotF’s fun fighting style and TSYM before they got too big to be on anything but a T1 server.

I was naming NA guilds. DiE and MERC are oceanic. VoTF is EU. HL is already mentioned with iR.

I’d like to point out that SoS continued to win without PrX, and that they joined in JQ at the end of free transfers in an outrage that we continued to win without them.

SoS owed a lot to PRX, but this false argument that they were carrying our server was disproven back in January.

If you weren’t in the know, PRX wants to come back to SoS. We thought JQ needed the NA coverage and for fair competition, we turned them down and told them to transfer to JQ before free transfers end. It turns out JQ have monstrous late SEA coverage. Oh well we had a good run. No point dwelling on the past.

SoS complaining about numbers is the most amusing thing I have heard of. You were the most ever stacked server in the history of GW2 WvW

Note: they did not have any EU, they did have LUN however which start during really early NA. SoR lost 2 asian guilds after that to BG I think. SoS got like 3 more NA guilds after this/before they reached T1. That was about it until free transfers when they got ND and VoTF for that short period.

Now unless you want to talk about top guilds (at the time) then maybe I can see it. The NA crew on SoS were pretty much the best at the time.

A early HoD/JQ/SoS battle would be no contest, “#1” SoS would be like a T3 server in that matchup.

Back then, most of the guild leaders on AoI mumble were upset we got bumped up to T1. Guess what? It was really boring compare to fighting you guys SoR. Our numbers start decreasing and guilds were on the verge of dying.

I concur. People look at the score and assume things when they aren’t in the match up. It was a blast tonight in SoS BL with each sides taking turns capping garr and failing.

According to Devon, this is NOT GvG. Instead, it is called “organized, large-scale battles.” That means they’re still planning to implement the best possible GvG mode.

yeah gotta say sor was pretty nice and actually i had a couple of awesome duels with a few of them. sor would at least let us take stuff to get a karma train going. jq seems more like a big bully to me atm. lat time we were matched up with them during jq/fa/bg it was actually fun.
also maybe next time jq spawncamps sos we might just hit u from behind with our group;-) by accident and then maybe place a few flamrams on your bodies…just maybe

I nominate GF, too bad not a single SoS comes close to their skill level. I liked SoS the last time we fought them now I just see them as mindless glass cannons and uplevels running around in a ball spamming 111111111, I dont know what happened but Kaineng 2.0 was more fun to fight. Go ahead and infract me I dont give a kitten, as a matter of fact I will just copy and paste the same kitten again. As far as the meta it’s been boring as kitten this week, 6+ hour fights over Mag west keep this week, there should be a mechanic that if you are so terrible that you get repelled more than 3 times in a 2 hour period the defending team gets a searing cauldron to nuke your kitten .

Looks like our fairweathers finally came out and maguuma’s PvF back in full force.

Queue ain’t as bad when you compare it to skill lag… arg the horror of not being able to use your skills and being surrounded by your enemies!

It’s equally hard, if not harder, to find TC roamers during the past few days as well. Half of them just run away when I wave, while the other half either die too soon or run into structures half-way through battle.

I guess roamers are now a rare species across all servers.

I blame the blob mentality SoR has:
1. Created in the T1 NA wvw meta game
2. Championed for more than half a year
..etc..

ANet created the blob mentality and only strengthened its stranglehold with every subsequent patch. It was never one server championing the idea of it. Hopefully the new BLs will alleviate some of this play style…

I share your hope that one day the blobbing will end but let’s not try to re-write history here…

SoR created this tactic to stay competitive in T1 before the IRON/KISS EU transfers.

SoR continued this tactic once they had a large influx of players across multiple time zones and continue to map blob even now.

Every other server has had to do the same to compete and now the lag is pretty much unbearable.

Given my week long visit to SoS, my observations are: On SoS, PvE zergs are bigger/larger than SoS WvW zergs…..

Hence, how I can understand your rational in saying what you have.

I normally wouldn’t compare PvE and WvW because of the guesting system. There’s no way you can find out which is local or not. You could be right. I remember hearing whimpers and comments about butts being sore on TS3 haha.
