Torch tactics in WvW

Running a 10/30/30/0/0 Sword(Scepter)/Torch, full meditation, full knight build myself I rarely let #4 to just burn. Even in group fights or zerg fights I prefer to throw it at the enemy. With high crit chance+power you can hit for really high amount of damage. The DOT simply seems to be too slow to me and the rather short radius doesn’t help much when the chaotic nature of team fights comes into calculation.

I use #5 only when my enemy is just outside my autoattack range and I simply have nothing else to use. I think it doesn’t have enough range to be used for the condition removal part.

spirit weapons-cd not necessary

I support this. As long as they are destructible and with poor AI there is no point for them to have a duration. Also “Improved Spirit Weapon Duration” trait would need to be changed to increase their health instead.

Shield of the Avenger - Improvements

Unfortunately it’s not just the shield that needs improvement as many others who tried spirit weapons agree.

Starting with the AI:
Bow of Truth for some odd reason likes to charge at remote foes who attack you or it randomly leaving you without condition removal or healing. Both the bow and shield should stick to their summoner at all times at maximum range of 200 or something.
Spirit weapons just like every other NPC can’t “run and gun” which means they just charge a running target > stop > swing > miss > wait for attack cooldown and run after it again greatly wasting damage potential.
Sword of Truth and Hammer of Wisdom never run all the way to target and only after that use their skill when you command them wasting the move and putting it on cooldown (tooltip says command range is 1200 but it’s more like 300).

My additional suggestions:
Bow of Truth – should be moved to healing skills, each shot should heal a small amount in addition to condition removal, command needs ground targeting.
Sword of Justice – command needs to be changed to something similar to Whirling Wrath, right now it’s a waste of DPS potential when it strikes less than 3 foes at once due to lenghty animation delay.
Hammer of Wisdom – third attack in it’s chain should be a knockdown instead, a knockback messes up your other attacks way too often, command could be AoE.

Final thoughts:
Unlike in sPvP spirit weapons do have a lot of trouble surviving high level content and large WvW fights, perhaps one of their traits should increase their health or toughness as well.
