Well whatever change they made to the code so that I didn’t have to authenticate every login (game AND website) …. didn’t work.

I’ve just had to authenticate twice, even though my IP is the same as it has been for the last 2 weeks.

Use a new code?

Speaking as someone who obtained 50/50 in GW1, I’d be more than willing to keep the account regardless of what was in it. I can always farm for items, but I’ll (pretty much) never get 50/50 in GW1 again.

Small Reporting change

If possible, I would love Anet to implement a small change to the bot reporting feature. I did notice a threading asking for an AoE bot report, this can be useful for large clumps of bots, but this risks a normal player being reported to.

What I would suggest, is that when you report a bot, the name of the person you reported, is displayed in the chat window..

“You have just reported Botxyz for botting”.

Sometimes I run into such a large mess of bots that I’m sure I end up reporting several bots twice. Which I’m sure add’s to the CS agents / bot hunters time.

If the above can’t be implemented, would it be possible to have a small icon on the player portrait, to indicate you’ve already reported them.. again to save on duplicate reports.

Multi-Boxing = Botting?

Seems to me that most of the bots that I see (and report) fall into one of two categories.

1) 1 or more stand alone accounts running a botting program/script.
or
2) Several accounts that appear to be following a main ‘player’, so called Multi-boxing (having multiple computers, with multiple accounts, being operated by one human player).

Under the TOS, category 1 is verboten, and said accounts are (sometimes) terminated.

What happens (or should happen) for category #2?

If it’s another 80 zone, can it PLEASE be one WITHOUT fecking Risen.

We already have 3 zones completely full of Risen which only drop some of the high tier crafting materials. We need more 80 zones without Risen to even the scales a tad.

Personally I thought it was the narrator/computer from a game called Defense Grid, who was apparently called Jim Ward.

One thing that was definately changed was the chest drops for the Champions in the Labyrinth.. they used to give 3 items + random Halloween ToT’s/Corn’s… Now it’s one item and a Halloween item.

I think I can safely say that I detest this kitten puzzle with intense passion..

After 4 dozen attempts, I couldn’t even get past the part where the parts fall out the wall.. Being a Norn toon, I REPEATEDLY kept hitting geometry that wasn’t there, or sliding off blocks that were there (and I had landed on, but the game thought to pitch me off).

On more than one occasion, the camera became completely dissjointed from my character (no longer behind my toon) causing me to fail heavily yet again.

I’ve lucky I still have a working PC, because I was literally “Why!!”, and “WTF!” and “NO!!”, every single attempt…

This is (for me) an exercise in pure refined frustration..

I can’t afford a new phone, and when I do finally replace my phone, it will be a phone with texting .. nothing else. I do want a physical authenticator to log in with. (Involving an outside – and hackable – source, is not my idea of security).

One of the good things with Google, (apart from the relish in abusing peoples privacy), is that the source code for the authenticator is open source, so that you can see if there are any security concerns.

In this case your fears are unfounded. Anet just passes the authenticator a user specific key, which the program encodes and combines with the current time to generate a code. The only way to retrieve this key would be to steal your physical device and attempt to reverse engineer the key. There’s no data being sent over 3G(or 4G or any other wireless network). Just the key that Anet gives you to scan and the time.

I’ve got my authenticator working on my account, however it’s asking for the code EVERYTIME I log in..

My IP hasn’t changed in the last 2 months, so why am I getting coded everytime I log-in. Shouldn’t this be requested only when my IP changes, or a periodic challenge (like once a month).

I’ve even had to authenticate just to post here, even though I logged in last night (from the same IP).

tl:dr, Works well, needs tuning.

Who sets Gem prices?

What I’d like to see is pretty much what happens in Star Trek Online.

In ST:O, it’s the players who set the price. Much like what happens in the BLTP now. That way it’s transparent why the price is changing, and not some “behind the curtains” sums.

However before you get to that part.. the whole cash > gems > gold, needs a good looking at. I can understand Anet wanting to make a cut of any purchases, but currently it’s cheaper to buy gold from less honest places, than it is from Anet direct. And most of this is actually down to the conversion rate. Players get penalised heavily for wanting to convert from gems to gold and it that can’t be good, when there’s such a big disparity between the two currencies.

I was doing the personal story mission “Silent Warfare”.

I managed to protect Prott, and the next step is to attack the weapon.

So I get to the bridge.. and there are a LOT of red rings all over the bridge, and about 20 dredge waiting for me (and Eir). Deciding that it would probably not be a good idea to attempt a frontal attack (and the associated repair bills from the * kicking I would receive)..

Looking at the map, I thought about going around the bridge and attacking from behind where there wouldn’t be a massive hail of mortars, and the numbers of dredge might be more manageable (for a single player, and an NPC who doesn’t really help a lot)…

Boy was that not a good idea. After making my way down the cliff, making sure NOT to hit the boundry, I get a “you’ll be kicked warning”.

2 seconds after the screen shot I got knocked down by several mortars, followed very quickly by a kick from instance (and no I wasn’t knocked into the red warning area).

Is rushing headlong across the bridge into 20 dredge really the only way to complete this story?

Just had a 2nd “bug” when looking at the screenshot… if the mission is for level 30 (top right corner).. why am I downgraded to level 28 (bottom left corner)?
