I’ve been camping the BLTP for nearly 2 hours.. and not seen the kitten kitten..
:(
This event for me is such a fail.

And another 3 knights killed, still no chests. And I think the Scarlet chest is absolute kitten, as all I got was greens… greens kitten .. I could go kill moa’s for greens if I wanted greens.
This event is phail.

And another 3 knights killed with zero chests. Awarded gold for the event contributions, but no chest and nothing to loot. Anet you really kitten kitten kitten kitten kitten this up.
You must not be in a party so you’re not getting credit when 100 people zerg them all down but yes, they give 6 champ boxes each + a chance at a power core.
Please do not take this the wrong way but I hate you with the fire of a 1000 suns…. 3 complete events, with 9 Knights killed…. ZERO chests received…
So stop calling for loot nerfs, when a LOT of players aren’t even getting any loot.

The 6 loot chests are normal.
From personal experience, at 3 events so far, killing each Knight each time, I’ve gotten ZERO chests.. Not even one…. And I can tell you I did damage each time.
And one of those times, I was hitting Blue, before the mob finished killing Red, and came to Blue, so I call bull on the hit it first idea.
Oh and so far I’m also 0 for 3 in the Hologram part to.. mainly because sometime during every Hologram event so far, my game locks up solid… and I have to kill the process.. I’m seriously not impressed.

did u try to solo him? … get a group and u should be fine….
I was in a group of around twenty when we broke in, and he pretty much killed everyone.
Like I said, he’s supposed to help you recapture your keep, not prevent the other colours from ever capturing it.. He’s very broken.
There should at least be another way of getting Quartz in the game..
I have most of the Celestial crafting recipes, but I can’t get quartz (my own quartz, and not off the TP), to make things with… this really shouldn’t happen.
So I’m playing on green, we capture Blue Keep. Blues then buy Siegecrushers time to take back the keep.
2 problems -
1, even after he’s taken the keep, he’s still hanging around,
2, he’s kitten invincible.
I thought the point of siegecrusher was to take back the keep, not take it back and then prevent anyone else from re-capturing it ever again…
Whilst you’re checking this, can you get security on the NCSoft account bumped up.. it’s very disconcerting to have a GW2 account, that’s linked to an NCSoft account that’s protected by a maximum 13 character password.
Guest to a high populated server and do it in overflow.
Overflow servers are shared between all the servers, not just high pop ones. Although it is true if you’re on a high pop, you’ll more likely end up in overflow.
Even if you do reconnect, and even if you do get back to main / where you were, and even if you complete the event, YOU DON’T GET EITHER CHEST….
Just happened to me on Deso… and boy was I LIVID!! All that effort and work.. for NOTHING..
So I’m trying for the skill point in the maze on Cursed Shore… Kill the first few trash mobs, then this Vetran comes around the corner, after apparently being aggroed from the other side of the wall!!!
He then proceeds to Life Syphon me for nearly 20 seconds… Personally I think that’s really really bugged. No foe should ever drain your entire health using just one skill… But this kitten did it.
Oh, and it didn’t help that the Rottenmouth was hitting me through a wall as well…
MMmm I can only attach one screenshot… but trust me, the combat log is 3 ‘pages’ showing 47 applications of Life Syphon for a total of 17,300 damage to me (and healing for the vet).
I was checking the security of my browser recently, and removed a couple of unsafe SSL/TLS ciphers (like RC4) from the list of allowed ciphers.
When I then went to the main GW2 page today, instead of the normal website I would expect, I almost got a 1990’s text only version with a video embed. Which got me a little confused. So I loaded the page in another browser and it displayed fine.
So I reselected some ciphers and lo the site was back to it’s normal glory.
A little further digging, and it seems that GW2.com (and cloudfront.net), both use the outdated (and apparently horribly broken) TLS 1.0.
Now it is true that it also supports TLS 1.2, but the default is 1.0, using 128 bit encryption, even when the browser can support TLS 1.2 with 256 bit encryption.
Shouldn’t it be the other way around, in that the default should be TLS 1.2 using 256 bit encryption if the browser supports it, and only falling back to 128 bit if 256 bit is unsupported?
That is a false statement, since you can purchase precursors from the TP with the gold you should’ve accumulated.
Nope, I don’t tell falsehoods. Lets see, I hate Dungeons, despise Fractals, and WvWvW is a money sink, so how exactly am I supposed to acquire all this wealth? Between buying gems, and trying to kit out my toons, I’m lucky if I have 2 gold spare.
Added to which the prices of precursors are going up quicker than I can acquire the gold to buy them.
The only false statement, is that eventually one will drop for you… and lots of people will tell you, it won’t.
They are attainable enough. Someone in my guild grinded 7 legendaries in 2000 hours. Just a matter of time management.
And I’ve had NONE in 1,250 hours. If the RNG loves you, it really loves you.. if on the other hand it hates you (like me), then no amount of time will ever drop a precursor.
Legedary weapons have the exact same stats as exotics. The only way they differ is the cosmetics.
You’re forgetting the acheivement points that owning one bestows upon you.. and more achievement points if you have more than one.

… Just like the people that advocate against /inspect won’t be effected by the addition of that tool.
Um.. I’m not sure that means what you think it means. If some people want to marry a partner who happens to be the same gender, that’s fine, because them being married doesn’t affect how I live, or alter my privacy in any way (they’re not going to drop leaflets in my door asking me out to a cool party, and btw does her sister look hot)..
However if /inspect was introduced into the game, people would use it on me, regardless of whether or not I want them to /inspect me or not. And that’s a completely different kettle of phish.
Routine maintainence my derrier… (and no I didn’t farm this event)..
Yet again, the underhandedness with which they slide things into/out of the game is uncovered.
Whilst in the middle of Jormag this evening, I hit the Raspberry patch nearby. I always use Ori tools on the relevant toons, but tonight was the first time that I had a ruined fibre whilst using one.
Is this intended? Or was I just really really unlucky (like usual)?

An assortment of souvenirs from the Southsun islands. This chest contains Southsun crafting materials and a chance to get a wide variety of items such as shoulder skins, new boosts and convenience items, and a rare chance at new weapon skins and mini pets.
Whilst this is true, for a real money item, that chance should be much nearer 50/50 than the current 90% nothing, especially as some of the items are are added are still awful.
Some female medium armour, that is actually female, and not pseudo male..
What I think you’ll find is happening is that people are being less inclined to flip precursors once the price goes past a mystical value. Eventually the prices will drop a bit, and then the flippers will come back and start inflating again.
Even worse is that over 90% of the boxes had just various amounts of the 3 Southsun materials.. If I’d brought those with real money, I would have been SO peeved.
One of the few nice things that you had with the collectors edition of the various GW1 games was the unique dance (in Nightfall), and also the Divine Aura (if you also had the orginal CE).
I was majorly disappointed this wasn’t the case with GW2. But now that dance books are available, perhaps now would be a good time to ‘gift’ account bound versions of the books to those who have a collector’s edition of GW2.
Because to be honest all of the ingame items in the Deluxe/Collectors Editions (apart from the mini), were incredibly naff.
I have had 2 boxes drop last night, so they do drop. Although both boxes just had normal Southsun materials.
Lots of lag inside the crab toss.. each time I played, there was a least one time when there was heavy lag, to the point I was standing still and running on the spot.
Your best bet, is literally to attempt this RIGHT after an update. I was able to complete this on Desolation, 10 minutes after this weeks bug update. It’s now bugged, but at the time it was working.
That’s elitests for you. Kitten about magic find stats, because it ‘weakens’ your other stats, when in reality, you already have over 2,700 in power, and so DR kicks in.
The games RNG is really annoying at times. I often have the problems that the op has.. killing things for an entire evening and get one rare.. and then extremely rarely I’ll have rare periods (like last night), when I had 2 exotics drop in 30 minutes.
Crazy.
And by 4, you more or less mean 2.
No he meant 4.
The one in EB, and the other 3, one in each BL. They’re all separate, and all have a daily attached to them, so they count as 4 seperate JP’s.
As Necrid said, it really depends on when midnight GMT is in YOUR time zone.
As of when I posted this, your original post was 10 hours ago. 10 hours ago it was 3:30am GMT meaning that you actually posted 3 1/2 hours after the new dailies had started.
Find out what timezone you are in, and then you’ll know when your personal reset time is, or when you are in game, Press H, then click on the Daily category. There’s a timer on the top right telling you how long you have remaining to complete the daily.
Sunrise/Twilight although being of Legendary rarity, are not the “real” legendaries for the great sword, that honour belongs to Eternity.
Finally a grouping that doesn’t need Zerker gear.
However, if you don’t like fractals (and I most certainly don’t).. get the Amulet, then accessories, then rings.
Obsidian Shards might also be a possibility if you’re going for a Legendary.
We already have elitest kittens who won’t accept you unless you have SPECIFIC gear, now you want to give them an excuse to kick you because you do 2 dps less (or some other measurement) than another player..
Kitten, kitten kittening kitten.
Because the dailies reset 0, DAILY at midnight GMT.
If you still need to get one, do it before then. Otherwise it will reset back to 0.
It’s the Life Transfer skill that kills the players, as it never seems to run out/turn off until the players are dead.
This skill seems to me to be completely op’d, in that it has no duration and keeps going until a player is dead.
Unless it was just a one off, I’ve been a victim of this skill twice. And I’ve just seen one take out a group of 10 players using Life Transfer alone.
Hacked, even with an Authenticator... How!?

Actually I don’t even have a car, it’s just an example of the questions it can ask.
In my case though the answers were ‘secret’ in that they were only stored in my head, and I’ve NEVER used them on the NCSoft website or anywhere else, in the 2 years since I last changed my NCSoft password/ secret answers.
My secret answers were definately NOT keylogged, and are actually not even stored anywhere on my PC, or even ANYWHERE online.
This being the case how did they gain access to my account? Brute force? Cos I’m stumped to think how the hacker actually managed this.
All I know is that as it stands, my NCSoft Master Account has me worried. In that it’ll be breached again, and next time I won’t be able to get a roll-back, unless A-net introduce the “we’ll always ask to authentication even if you store your IP address in the whitelist”, like what was promised 4 months ago, to prevent exactly this type of hack.

Hi Kilaelya.
I believe I understand what transpired. And the basic gist is that the NCSoft Master Account is the bane of my kitten GW life. This account is protected by a weak 13 char password which has to start with a letter and have at least 1 number, with no symbols.
So once you log in to NCSoft, if your IP is not known on the NCSoft account, you have to answer two secret questions. (what colour is your car is one..), get the answers right and NCSoft asks you if you want to remember the location you logged in from…
And bingo, your authenticator is now useless, because they’ve breached your NCSoft account, added their IP to your account, and they can now also change the password to your account at their whim, and log in, because the IP is already on NCSoft’s whitelist which Anet uses for the authenticator.
<Hudson from Aliens>Game Over Man!! Game Over!</Hudson>
4 Months ago Gaile said “In the future, we will allow you to always require approval of an IP, even if it’s you logging in for the fourth time in a day from the same computer at the same location.”.
If this had been acted upon, I would not have been hacked… AND OF STORY… Mind you if NCSoft didn’t have such kitten security I wouldn’t have got hacked either.
Having Anet whitelist your IP is all well and good, but if your account is tied to a NCSoft Master Account, with its lack-lustre security.. you’re walking on eggshells, because once they get in, and added their IP, your account is theirs, and there’s nothing you can do about it.
In the attachment you can see the authorised IP’s that were attached to my account. My IP’s were the 80.5.* and the 86.17.. However the 151.201. actually belongs to the hacker.
And I know this wasn’t a key logger on my system, because I hadn’t even logged into my NCSoft Master Account in over a year. So somewhere there’s a weakness in NCSoft’s security and it’s getting peoples GW accounts compromised.
Should I just wait another day to send in another ticket? Or is there another way to contact them?
Keep all your dealings with support on the ONE ticket. Don’t open multiple tickets to deal with the same incident. I had my password reset twice before it was all sorted. But it did get sorted in the end.
Hello, I noticed one of my friends (also a guildie) started to behave strangely over the last few days, haven’t answered to private messages, suddenly stopped representing our guild, “de-friended” me and other people who we believe were both friended through the friends system in-game, etc.
This is almost exactly what happened when my account got hacked, the kitten kitten, left all the guilds I was in, and then removed all my friends.. I’ve no idea why they do this, but they do. Personally I would be worried.
It’s been 4 months since, Gaile said,… "In the future, we will allow you to always require approval of an IP, even if it’s you logging in for the fourth time in a day from the same computer at the same location. "
So has Anet introduced this yet? And if not WHY NOT?!

Just a note, that it appears this is still bugged, as I just read all the required books, and didn’t get the achievement.

Hi Gaile,
Yes I am involved in an ongoing discussion with support about this. I posted here in the hopes of understanding actually how this occured in the first place.
Thing is that the NCSoft account got compromised 2 years ago, and back then the same 2 accounts got accessed. I personally suspect that the same person was involved this time, and they remembered some of my account details from back then.
At the moment, from what I can tell it’s only my GW/NCSoft accounts that are affected. Everything else is aok (SWTOR, STO, Path of Exile, Torchlight, Steam… ). Which is what leads me to think that it’s the NCSoft account that the real problem here.

Spoofing is a possibilty, and I would have dismissed it, until I read a reply from support this evening.
I would like to believe that it didn’t happen, as 2 seperate GW1 accounts were changed at the same time. Unless they’re linked they’d both have to been brute forced at the same time, and as both accounts had seperate random passwords, I don’t think they were brute forced.
The thing is though that the accounts are actually linked to my NCSoft account which appears to have also been compromised, and once you gain that, you can change the passwords for accounts linked to it, regardless of if you know them or not.. however it should e-mail you when this occurs, as I have received these previously when this occured. This occasion I got nothing.
Like I said there’s more to this than meets the eye…

E-mail password has already been changed, however the access logs I saw said no-one had logged in but me, although to be honest it only records the last 3 connections
The authenticator is supposed to be un-removeable unless you a) have the serial code and b) contact support.
I have now regained access yes, thank you.

I’d like to thank Anet support for re-instating access to my account, I can’t praise them highly enough, especially Barracuda, and Marlin.
Ok serious part of this post time.
I recently had my account hacked. However this was no ordinary hack. What I believe happened, was that my NCSoft Master Account was somehow compromised. Don’t ask me how because I haven’t even logged into it since 2011.
Next I believe they changed the e-mail address for the NCSoft account, and then proceeded to change the passwords to two Guild Wars accounts attached to that account. One of the two affected accounts was attached to both GW1 and GW2.
Now here is where it starts getting weird. All through this I had NO e-mails. None from NCSoft, when (I assume) the attached e-mail address was changed), and again none from Anet when GW2 was accessed. I also had an authenticator attached to the GW2 account at the time. And yet somehow they managed to login to both GW1 and GW2 accounts, bypassing the authenticator.
Now I know some of the questions that people are thinking of..
No the passwords were not stupidly simple to guess (the GW2 password WAS 9SeIdeYcAqS699VL52V5ZL9upNKc1, yes 29 characters long for example)
No-one has access to my PC, (which was turned off at the time), indeed no-one has even been inside my home in over a year (yeah I’m a real sociable type, see my username for example).
Scans by MBAM, Spybot and MSE all say nothing was found, so it’s highly unlikely to be a keylogger or other trojan, especially as I haven’t even accessed NCSoft in over 2 years.
My mobile, with the only copy of the authenticator (and it’s secret key), has NEVER left my possession.
So the issue is, how kitten did my account get compromised? And what can be done to prevent this happening again (and to other people).
