Honestly I’d probably add the ability to replay Personal Story quests.

I know a lot of people didn’t like them and/or saw them as something to get out of the way as quickly as possible but I enjoyed them and I think it would be even more enjoyable if I could do it all in one go instead of in bits and pieces spread over weeks or months. It would also be nice to see some of the characters again. (Tybalt!)

Considering they’re all instanced I think it would be fairly easy to do. Add a button to each page of the Story on the Hero panel that puts the green quest marker back into it, add some code to recognise that it’s a repeat and down level you (or up level the enemies, either way) and remove the reward and you’re done.

Alternatively I’d add a slot to the Hero panel for a mini, so you can put one in there and it will come out automatically whenever possible. Instead of having to remember to take it out every time you change zones, die, move it in the bag etc.

Weapon and Armor Skins – Obtainable in game for straight gems no rng if I have to choose one. Otherwise:

Class Balance
Bug Fixes
Siege Weapon balance
WvW map disparity
WvW map rotation
LFG tool (yes a hot join one, even though I doubt I’ll use it much)
DE’s that people will actually participate in (actually reward you)
Permanent Dungeon/DE/JP/WvW additions and tweaks
Engineers in general
Dungeon Path balance
Lack of a viable replacement for Trinity has yet to be found, 9 months in now.
Tools to see your allies better in WvW, as well as a lot more tools for commanders to use while leading.

That’s all I can think of sitting here at work right now, I’m sure there’s a million other little things that need some TLC

Guild support.

The current guild tools are horrendous. Guild leaders can’t even tell the last online or last repped status of their members.

Considering guild interactivity is at the heart of what makes GW2 the great game it is, it’s pretty shameful that guilds have been given the shaft in regards to the featureset.

For the record: Guild missions are largely considered a burden or “means to an end” in-game. Hardly anyone actually enjoys doing them. We just want our commendations and merits. These were not the solution we were looking for.

Easy to use, easy to access in game group finder utility so that players don’t have to go to a 3rd party application to build their group. It would be quick, simple and yet innovative. It would work for both open world and instanced content.

And then I would offer to make it for them, cause I’ve yet to see a game do it right and feel confident I could build one that would rock

Add skills for each weapon, so you can choose skills for each weapon. 15 skills for each weapon would be a good start. After that, add like 30 normal skills + 5 elites for each class. And make sure that the skills have conditions attached to them. What i mean by that is. If A happens do B. ex. for next 3 seconds, if an attack does more than A dmg to you, you get healed for B. or like. Attack target, if target has less than 30% HP, you hit twice. Ow and make sure skills can be casted on a party member (enchantments).

RNG absolutely sucks (for me) so I would like champions/veterans to have guaranteed drops. I’m tired of killing champions and veterans and getting the white “junk” that drops. Sometimes I get nothing at all. It doesn’t matter if I solo kill or group kill, I generally get worse drops as compared to my friends.

Fix the display so that we get a choice of options for talk, revive, pick up/use. It’s a shockingly poor interface at moment that restricts us to doing just one of the available things we could do. Players shouldn’t have to move around until they can do what they need to do in a fast paced reaction game.

There are several things I think are actually more important than what I’m about to suggest, but this one is the easiest to both describe, implement, and understand why it’s important: templates. The lack of fully implemented build templates is quite literally the only reason I don’t do sPvP. So, for me, it kills an entire segment of the game.

When we first were messing about in sPvP (“we” being a few friends from Aion, all strong pvp’ers), I said three things. First, “hmm, how do I change my build?” (button at top) Second, “Cool. How do I save my build?” (you can’t) Third, “well, that kills it.” All this within the first few minutes of trying it out. I still can’t believe something that obvious and basic to that particular game type hasn’t been implemented.

Zero server changes are needed to support templates, too. No code changes and no extra storage. Everything could be done client-side. This makes it’s lack even more baffling. Client-side changes are much easier to effect. The only difficulty is the standard logistic one for any UI change: localization for other languages.

Actually, localization is such a problem for many companies that they tend to avoid making needed changes that would require it. If ANet doesn’t have that part of their business down to a “snap the fingers & it’s done” state, I’d say that game-features aside, that’s probably the most important thing for them to work on because otherwise it will seriously hobble their creativity on the UI side of things.

I would replace Critical damage from every traitline and replace it with a new attribute.
Please, before you start typing furiously, blinded by the smoke coming out of your nose and ears, hear me out.
Critical Damage doesn’t belong in the traitlines! Its effectiveness is entirely dependent on your another attribute (precision), unlike ANY of the other attributes. Without cond. duration, condition damage still increases a bleeding builds effectiveness, but the damage increase from critical damage is marginal at best unless you also increase precision.

This is annoying when making a build for a profession that has the two disconnected (Necromancer, Warrior, Guardian, Engineer). Maybe I want to make a build with my necro that abuses the Death Shroud without using critical hits!
That would put me at a 300 attribute point disadvantage compared to other builds I could make, right from the start! Any other attribute increase would increase my effectiveness at least somewhat, so any other independent statistical increase would do.

Keeping it on equipment would still allow for cool critical damage builds, without restricting the effectiveness of builds who don’t want to use crits, but do want to use Death Shroud, Tool Belt Recharge, Burst Damage, and Toughness (on Guardians).

A LFG tool. Can look at several MMO’s for inspiration, I’d look at DDO’s.

Last time I played they had two versions. One in which the maker of the group could decline people, and the second in which anyone could join simply by entering the dungeon. Still limited by group size of course

I would love to see whips, but not as a focus skin. It makes no sense to me to make the whip available exclusively to magic users… I can see a necromancer with a whip, but a guardian? And elementalists already have a whip-like skill.

Trait lines are designed to not just hand you perfect stat setups for pure builds and plenty of other stats can be seen as dependent on others. Crit damage requires precision AND power to mean anything. Precision requires that you’re either using pow/crit dmg or on crit effects (typically cond dmg/dur related effects) to mean anything. You could even make the claim that toughness, healing power, and vitality depend on eachother because there’s a point on the line where 1 more bit of armor protecting your current health pool is less valuable than 1 more bit of hp protected by all of your armor (or the other way around) or the potential to heal 1 more bit of hp every X seconds and this is only because of the amount of each you already have.
If trait lines were ALL arranged so you could get T/V/HP on 1 line, pow/prec/crit dmg on 1 line, prec/cond dmg/dur on 1 line, it would be completely silly and only support pure builds.

Also, stop looking at trait lines only for stats, powerful minor/majors can mean so much more.

I agree with you completely on how the attributes work, and that trait lines are more than their attributes. That interdependence is what makes the attributes interesting.
But isn’t critical damage the big exception? With condition damage, cond. duration, precision, power, healing power, toughness, vitality and boon duration you have a choice on how you want those to interact with other attributes in your build. However with critical damage there is only one way (for 7 out of 8 professions), and that is using precision.
And when you build a character that has a dead stat in the traitlines (say, boon duration) you can always consider using a skill or trait that takes advantage of the unexpected bonus. Not with critical damage (Arcane skills noted, no need to bring it up)!
Also note that I’m not arguing shuffling around crit damage so that it matches up with precision on all professions. I’m arguing that it doesn’t belong in any traitline. Ever. It should be replaced by another attribute. What attribute? I don’t know. Maybe something that helps Control builds, they only seem to have condition duration to rely on.

Cantha reinstated into the game and history. Tell the Chinese/Japanese/Korean soreheads to embrace their popularity in north/south America and Europe, and correct cultural errors or mixed referents to sooth offended pride there.
* Assassins equated with, reduced to same status as Thieves??? Try that idea out on a real assassin some time! It’ll be over for you, quick and painful I guarantee it! Assassins are Feared, but Respected. Thieves are always scum.
Most of my; carry over to GW2 characters, are Canthan.
My assassin/thief has white hair for a reason. Nightmares of becoming Afflicted. She killed Shiro but the afflicted remain, so she fled to Kryta with the blessing of the Emperor, a title and an attaché as an Imperial envoy.
Canthan and general GW1 faces/hairstyles/physique models pleeeeease. Get rid of those 6 ugly unfixable face selections/physiques to do this.
Armor styles; re-render popular GW1 armors and add them in GW2. eg. Elite Druid etc. The Studded Leather skirt, minus that hastily tacked on censorship that occurred mid-game cycle; how lame and obvious could you be?
So Elves were a no-go because, “Elves have been done to death.” I take it. Big Mistake!
I So wanted to see what Arenanet could do with elves, no; the Fae races rather. You almost lost my patronage in GW2 forever over that. TERA, it really was that close.
