Let this thread die kitten .
So the other day I was looking in my PvP vault, yes which I know is about to be gone, and noticed that the Profane Light Armor set I had received when I made my account back in December 2013, and set the second set for PvP, has vanished.
I’m not sure if this is the right place to be posting this, but if at all possible, I would like to get this set back so I have use of it for it’s looks.
You know you play Guild Wars 2 to much
If someone says train and you immediately respond with “Boar.”
I can’t confirm on that, though if I remember correctly any crystals and stones you have will convert into charges, three stones to one charge, and a one for one on crystals to charges.
The simple solution here, if you do get a charge for mapping a town, is buy an extra character slot, and keep it open to make a Sylvari or Charr, as they are the two easiest cities to get map completion on, and farm up some easy charges.
Depends on if you’re a full time or part time student, as well as what you do outside of school, from home, to work, and social life.
I have friends in college, most of them part time, who are majoring in Psychology, or other such courses, that require a lot of study, and still find time to have lives. So it can’t honestly be all that bad the whole school year.
I’ve not experienced either issue. Maybe the occasional system lag, from 16 people all using their flashiest AoE moves at once in the same location in sPvP, but no server lag or connection issues.
Guessing none of you have heard about this mythical thing called real life, in which people lose their jobs, maybe internet, go on vacation and leave their games behind, or God forbid have a loss in the family, or tests, and exams to begin cramming for, as the school year draws more quickly to a close.
Happens every day of the year. Doesn’t explain a mass exodus.
Oh yes. The last month(s) of cramming for those big tests that matter the most happen every day of the year.
Of course there’s also the possibility, of ignoring a still failing economy, that people eventually get bored, burnt out, and take a break.
I myself juggle between Aion, Tera, The Secret World, Guild Wars 2, Neverwinter, Star Wars: The Old Republic, Fable: The Lost Chappters, Assassins Creed, II, Brotherhood, Revolations, Diablo III, Path of Exile, Skyrim, NiGHTS: Into Dreams, Hearthstone, and Yes for the lols, Nyan cat.
Think of it from the perspective of the new player. You just spent twenty dollars on the game, you have no friends in it yet, and you find yourself against ridiculously powerful creatures, that you just can’t seem to compete with on your own.
This is not the full case for me, having played in various MMOs, and beta testing for a few others in the past three years, which allowed me, paired with my ability to analyze my options, come up with creative solutions.
A new first time player is probably going to be HIGHLY discouraged by these things and feel they wasted their money, and I can’t say I’d blame them. I’m not saying take the WoW road and just hyper nerf all of the lowbie zones, but there’s no denying something needs to be done about this, because it can MORE than kill the game for you pretty kitten quick.
I’m just sad to see that most of you look at this from such a narrow angle.
What about things like the Nightmare Armor, Koda Armor, and the other armors that sell from the same Glory Vendor? Is there another place to buy them for gold?
Guessing none of you have heard about this mythical thing called real life, in which people lose their jobs, maybe internet, go on vacation and leave their games behind, or God forbid have a loss in the family, or tests, and exams to begin cramming for, as the school year draws more quickly to a close.
Talk also about pirates with their endless torment skill.
I was giving examples I’ve personally noticed. Can’t say I’ve faced pirates yet, Going to guess that they are in the human area, and I don’t plan on rolling a human.
- Play PvP as usual and receive gold/mats through PvP reward tracks instead of glory.
- Sell received rewards for gold.
- Buy cultural armour with obtained gold instead of obtained glory.
Where can I buy them for just gold instead of Glory, and how much gold does this cost?
So I know that Glory has been removed, and yet all of the Glory Vendors are still there. After the 15, or before then, how will we be able to obtain our cultural armor skins?
To be honest, you guys have thus far really screwed over the new players who have just recently purchased the game, or came in after the glory removal, who want their cultural skins.
I’m more curious how with the removal of Glory, we get our cultural armors, because the Norn and Sylvari armors are just bad kitten .
“in SPVPI have never been more frustrated. I run 10 25 15 20 0 build with 48% Crit rate, just a decent damage build nothing crazy, all morning with the hammer I was just continuously kited.”
This is pretty much my entire experience with Guardian SPvP in general. Using a Greatsword we have (generally) two ways of keeping in melee range of someone – Binding Blade and Leap of Faith (which is a joke, as it’s a 50/50 if it’ll connect or not). A lot of people will use Judge’s Intervention to close gaps as well.
The real issue Guardians have is that we don’t have any slows or cripples. We have no “hamstring” or “crippling poison” that so many other melee focused classes have in the past. As Ynna said, you could try a scepter in your off set for Chains of Light, but it’s a 2 second immobilize – that’s not really going to solve your frustration for long.
I feel your pain.
Because everyone is going to understand WoW references.
I’ve honestly never had a problem with any of the examples you listed. If things hit hard, dodge and kite them. If they have boons, strip them. If they are clustered, pull some from range. Open world is pretty faceroll as it is. The last thing needed are a few hard fights to get dumbed down.
The few contested WPs in low level areas are there for incentive to do the events. There are enough WPs in those zones as it is that traveling by foot takes 1 minute. Is not being able to port there an inconvenience? Or is it another event for you to do? Perspective. Visit Orr and tell us about contested WPs.
Some of these mobs infinitely gain these boons so stripping them long enough to make headway is impossible, literally. And in some situations, yes, not having acess to a certain waypoint makes me run clear across the zone in one direction or another, including in Caledon Forest.
Now I don’t know how many others have noticed this but as a few example, here are some “broken mobs” that are in serious need of fine tuning. Such as the fire imps that guard a skill point in the Ascalonian plains, Specifically the Ashford Plains. They hit harder than any veteran I’ve come across out there, and when I was leveling a char warrior, had to actually request help because they are to close together and far to powerful for gear of that level.
Another example is the Enraged mobs in the Asura starting area in the lake where you have to destroy the power pillars, If you have not taken the time to find another location to level your aquatic weapon skills their regeneration is impossible to beat, and you either run to the guards on the shore, or die, unless again you have friends with you.
Then there are some events that force us to lose way points unless we complete them, activating FAR to often. One such case is in Caledon Forest, where the frog people come in and attack the wardens. I cleared the event alone opened the waypoint, not even half an hour later, probably more like fifteen minutes later, the event is going again. The same thing happens in the Ascolonian Plains with a Champion Giant at a Waypoint.
Another issue is in the Norn lower level areas were the Dredge are in small clusters, but buff each other with protection Regen and other random boons, and again hard as hell to solo, even as a heavy armor class.
Now before anyone rages, kittenes at me, or tries to troll me, yes I am aware of what MMO stands for, but I’m also aware that not every zone is going to have people in it at every moment of the day, and my friends/guild mates will not always be online, or available to come help out. So seriously, before you go doing the traits system over, redesigning Runes/sigils, and what ever else you are doing in this feature pack, make the game more playable, by fixing your monsters and events.
Yet Aion, World of Warcraft, and several other MMO, allow the use of chairs at the very least. If you mean by modding, add ons like WoW allows, a lot of MMOs see the divide, and conflict addons like Recount, or Gearscore can create, and just don’t want that in their games. I tend to agree with them. But if you mean like in Skyrim, making your own custom modifications to the game, I have no clue why they don’t, other than possible program conflicts, or mods with hidden key loggers.
Back on the original subject, Aion is actually the only game I have played so far that lets you actually lay in beds, and has animations for it.
Again, I state, soon there will be only one server, a Single Mega server that houses ALL players. World vs World will most likely, become Guild vs Guild, kind of like in Tera, would be my guess. I haven’t fully read over that part yet, but if you check the news forums or even further down this one, you’ll find your info about it.
I said it doesn’t Did you miss me saying “not” in all caps?
No. They are merging all the servers into a Mega server. Save your money for cosmetic items.
Let me put this very simply for you. Waypoints completely, and UTTERLY obliterate the need for mounts to travel in this game. And if speed is such an issue, then use speed boosting skills, place your traits so that said skills are better, or last longer. This game does NOT need another gold sink, when gold is hard enough to gain already.
So given all things, including the growing, and living lore, of this game, why is it the one thing those of us who enjoy the role play aspect of this MMORPG, cannot use the furniture. In a way, you’ve MINORLY given us player housing, yet we can’t right click, or double click the chairs, and beds to sit and lay on them. While I understand this game is from Arenanet, or so it is my understanding partnered with NCsoft, I can’t understand how this one little feature was utterly ignored.
To explain the statement for those of you who don’t get it, when I said minorly gave us player housing, if you look at the racial capitals, you will see areas, that say “Home”, to which our characters can use, based on story plots we picked in creation. In the case of my Sylvari Mesmer, The Terrace of Dreams.
