lol there is a big difference between asking for donations to help the last few remaining members transfer and straight up headhunting guilds from other servers, paying for every member’s transfers plus extra as a bonus.

You really think this is how it works? Do some quick math, do you realize how ridiculously high the amount of gold to move even a relatively small guild is? What you are describing is what every good server does: raise gold to ease the transfer cost. If you think a server can move a few hundred players and tip them as well… You need to look at current gem prices.

I think it is great the top few servers do this. It lets guilds fully transfer to where they want to play when otherwise they could not. This is how it works on all t1 servers, anyone telling you otherwise is incorrect. Source: I have been on two of the servers and see the screenshot from SoR ts.

Specifically to the person saying we couldn’t sustain 330, we actually were sustaining that and higher during NA that same day. For part of it we were even outnumbered. Trying to detract from your opponent by talking about how bad they are is just detracting from yourself when you are losing to them.

It hasn’t all been bad though. In fact it has been pretty great. We have been victim to a few great JQ sandwiches, and some clever surprise ninjas when we thought we were safe. I do not see a lot of FA on the field, but it is really nice to see RISE on FA already performing well. It is nice not to get pressed by jq and sor at the same time, though I do miss the awesome three way fights. Speaking of which, we had a few with JQ and FA in SMC, good games.

Also I swear it is laggier than it should be. It used to be that you could feel a sor zerg coming because the lag would get worse. That keeps happening, but I can’t find any horizon-filling groups of enemies. Maybe they are just getting better at hiding.

Sounds more like he called someone out who messed up tooting their own horn. I am running around in a selfish soloing build myself right now, but I can’t be arsed to take a screenshot whenever I miraculously kill players in their group builds.

That came as a surprise to me too. I looked around and saw one member of DB wrote a long post about a personal conflict he was having with someone else, but the entire thing seemed really out of place. Still happy camping here on DB.

Also for future reference, its easy to tell what primetime it is based on what DB guilds are on. None? EU! CO, BP, AGG, EA, RE, TG, rB, FIRE, (ok ima stop listing guilds at this point : P)? NA! OMEN? Oceanic! TW, NNKOclock? SEA!

We do not have around the clock coverage yet, but we have very strong NA and SEA coverage still. EU time is a good time to organize pushes against us. Even though we only have one Oceanic guild they are pretty awesome.

The new guilds on DB are trash, ignore what they say. They moved to DB with the mindset of taking the server over and carrying them to t1. They hit a wall(TC) with that goal and now it seems they are having problems with the “regs” of DB. I was on DB for a little bit and the community there is very friendly. I still keep in touch with many DBers. Dont let the new faces of DB give you bad judgement about their community that so many longtime guilds on DB helped build.

As much as I appreciate being called trash, I am going to have to disagree with all the sudden splurge of negativity. I have no idea what Dekar is talking about, the old guard guilds have been nothing but friendly to us, and everybody has enjoyed running with CO. This “problem” seems to be nothing but a couple people really not wanting the original RE to come to DB because they worry it will hurt the community, and a few people really wanting them to come because they are old friends. Not exactly drama city.

Either way this was a surprise, was just talking with my best buddy in rB about how great the server has been treating us. Lots of great comms, lots of great players, and lots of friendly people. We have good times.

For the original RE, good luck finding a new home.

Good luck original RE. If you decide to come to DB, I think you will quickly find that the server just feels like home. Though the excellent wvw prospects are what first got many guilds looking at transferring here, it is definitely the stellar community that always seals the deal.

Uh… actually nobody said anything about DB trying to tank their rating, except trolls. We just spent some time off from wvw to farm. What is happening right now is DB na is showing up late, and TC and FA are pushing really hard… At one point an FA group actually came to try to clear a DB group out of the garri TC is holding, then left.

Edit: while I am correcting things, that poster criticizing the RE recruitment post should reread it and come back to explain what they think needs fixing. It is like they will scour the forums to find anything to try and troll DB with, but can’t be bothered to look up who VoTF is.

I can’t believe how many trolls simultaneously complain about guilds on DB helping with transfer fees, while those same guilds are apparently not nice enough to be on DB, while at the same time complaining about DB capping when their servers have low numbers, while at the same time complaining that DB is inviting guilds to bolster their low number times.

Rather than spam more run on sentences at you, lets break down how the trolls really feel:

Troll #1: You left my server, I hate you.
To these trolls I say: Grow up. Attitudes like that are why people want to leave servers in the first place.

Troll #2: DB is paying people to transfer that is so not cool.
To these trolls I say: Last I checked, assisting guilds with transfer fees was an act of kindness, not bribery. The money is being instantly spent to transfer people over, and we can’t afford to cover anywhere near full transfer costs for anyone – it is just us trying to help make the move easier.

Troll #3: DB couldn’t make it without their new guilds, DB sux and their new guilds sux.
To these trolls I say: New guilds came to be a part of DB, to play alongside guilds already here, and to enjoy the ridiculously friendly and cooperative environment of DB. I don’t think DB’s potential performance without new guilds has any bearing on anything – the awesome server environment the original guilds created was going to attract an influx of guilds at some point or another.

Troll #4: Guilds are just running from T1 when things got difficult, and now they just want to be back in T1.
To these trolls I say: You have everything mixed up. The guilds coming to the server are not running from a challenge, or running to T1. Guilds are coming here that enjoy WvW and playing with talented, nice people. The feeling you get when you can log into any WvW map and see someone who you know is a top notch commander from a great guild… it is just a great feeling.

Troll #5: DB is just trying to imbalance T2.
To these trolls I say: You think there is some reward for winning other than having good fights along the way? Right now DB is filling out coverage so that the guilds that are there do not need to log in and push hard for long hours every day. The original DB guilds have a good balance between dedicating time to WvW and dedicating time to fun – the two things are not always one and the same (so people tell me, I do not believe them, though). I think all guilds can understand wanting to be able to do that.

To Blackelk trying to troll Lee: Nobody has time for those absurd claims. Those lies were addressed as they came out in the original thread. At least make up new ones.

To the rest of us here in T2: Good games bros. I missed Thursday through Saturday but it looks like TC and FA have been making a helluva showing in WvW. Congrats on last week TC, you sure earned it. We are a little lax on wvw focus in DB atm because we spent so much time farming gold that I think it dampened our ability to give 100%. We will try and get amped up and bring some of this intensity right back at you. Good luck and see you out there.

No there wasnt a queue but we were queued slightly earlier that night, and had lost maybe 30% of our number.

From my prespective, you had us outnumbered quite handily.

You had 2 distinct groups who tried to flank repeatly.

Our cmdr was drunk btw lol.

Yeah we had an omen com and an re com both running with large groups on them, we had like a 20 minute fight there. Good times.

When we see a group of 100+ players in one spot on the map, we assume it is a full queue. I take it by the posts around here that the assumption is quite accurate.

Yeah I should have been more specific. I meant on DBBL, there was a TC zerg with a tail stretching from its spawn into lake tower, around the tower, and through the tunnel. We brought our own zerg with similar numbers and had a lengthy good fight.

I think the issue may be with the way you are looking at it. You and four friends occupied an entire enemy zerg? For how long? Good work.

If it were hills you likely would have been able to beat the enemy zerg with your 5 arrowcarts. I know I have seen several zergs getting demolished by just a handful of arrowcarts there.

If you really want to have a large individual impact, be a commander. I know that our servers best commanders make a large difference in the outcome not just of a single battle, but of the entire map they play on.

If that is a bit much, then focus on camps. You can flip camps close to the end of each tick and have a large impact on your servers PPT with just a small organized and fast group. Supply starving an enemy by starting Dolygeddon 2013 also has a large impact, though it usually isn’t seen right away.

Depending on what classes you and your friends are playing, you may also be able to tank up like beasts to hold enemy zergs at capture points as long as possible. Every minute that group sits there fighting you and your friends is a minute that your servers main force is unimpeded.

If you want to be useful in large group combat, just spec/gear appropriately.

Want to be on the frontline? Get your armor around 3k and your hp over 25k. Bring a healing turret and pistol/shield for waterfield and blasts. Bring bombs for multiple fields or flamethrower for fire and frequent knockbacks. Go with a might stacking build or your damage won’t be competitive with other frontliners.

Want to be on the backlines? Get on some zerker gear and bring your nade kit. Go either HGH or crit dmg stacking.

Want to do something else in a large group? Well let me know if you figure that one out : ( I am trying to work out a better support build but my super elixir messes with waterfields and I don’t feel very useful without using that.

DB players are also disconnecting like mad in fabl… keep up the good fight FA we all know it is a pain in the kitten not being able to stay and defend your own BL. Good luck and see you on the field… on the other maps.

We all know dragonbrand was a strong server with or without the transfers.

Those of us participating in WvW know that the fights have been awesome on all sides (in spite of how incredibly messed up arrowcarts are).

This matchup rocks and lets keep the fights intense.

Don’t mind Fuzzion he just misses us oh so dearly.

As for why the threads are pretty clean, I think it is because we are getting some really good fights, and in WvW that doesn’t happen as often as it should. We have a good matchup here, with good guilds and comms on all sides.

My understanding is that it is a direct % increase to the attackers damage. I do not think we will be having too much trouble with it, it is mainly a guardian counter. The thief is supposed to counter our hgh nade builds, I think our ft engies are going to be in the middle of too much aoe for a thief to even consider going there.

Once again though, the elixir S change is not only a worry its just plain crap! I have heard a few sparse complaints about invulnerable downing people, but that is not what is being removed. Never have I heard someone complaining that a kitten dirty engineer healed 3k hp while invulnerable.

Not useless, use it when you get knocked down to prevent a group of enemies spiking you. Could definitely be better, but it has its niche.

Boon hate wont be bad for our FT builds. I don’t think a thief will be surviving on the frontlines to steal our 25 stacks either. Our biggest problem this patch is not being able to do anything while using elixir S.

Sorry TC, we will keep an eye out for abusers on our end. Please make use of screenshots and reports also. Good job defending the keep, hopefully this doesn’t mar our overall excellent matchup.

Absolutely awesome fights tonight! Most fun I have had in WvW in a long time.

Oxy you can insult me all you want but you are really just pushing the point I was trying to make – that there are people that are being mature about this, and then a dedicated few trying to wreck everything for everyone. Jumping past the part where you say I shouldn’t write because I don’t know what you are thinking, as you have been doing that constantly for days now, we will skip right to what I hope is the most relevant part of your post: That you do not know what I mean by saying that you showed up in the middle.

By the time that you had showed up, the actual leaders of the guild had already discussed, planned, presented, and discussed with the euro crew. The NA crew then got up, was surprised, and had a lot of backlash towards the move. Tiger went to work, raw went to sleep, and then lee explained it to us further in TS, answering our questions and explaining why dragonbrand was such a great choice. The guildmembers decided to have their own meeting and make our own poll to argue the pros and cons of this move. We created a list of who was going where and discussed what we would do to potentially stay together, agreeing to help fund each other to move to DB or back from DB depending on where members ended up. Raw woke back up came and talked to us about why the decision was made quickly, and apologized for it. He went back to bed and some of us started transferring over. We started our WvW groups and were running on DB.

All this was well before you logged in to surprise demote everybody that was moving and staged your self-described “coup.”

Your hostility is misplaced, do you really want people to come back that you already said you wouldn’t let back in the guild? I appreciate that you said exactly the opposite of that a few hours later at the meeting, but after you kicked the remaining members and continued to fill the forums with this crap it is clear where you stand. You don’t want us there, and we are happy here, so everything is great. But you continue to go out of your way to bother those that left.

Your forums auto sent me the email insisting that our com is haxxing your website, while only deleting the posts where he apologized for the quick decision, where we were discussing the move, and where we kept track of the 2 to 1 margin that players signed as moving to db (for clarity, the spreadsheet where we listed names as on DB or on JQ, the DB numbers were about double the JQ numbers at the time of the forum topic being removed).

If this bs “drama” is not coming from you, you should find who is starting it and tell them to stuff it.

Throughout this entire thing I have gone out of my way to keep the lies from getting repeated as facts. You accuse me of bias, but I am not sure why. I really do not care what server I am on, as long as I play with the same people. I did not care one way or the other what server we were on, and promised to help both with funding to and out of DB. I ended up on DB because that is where the majority of my favorite commanders and players went, and that is what my game is about. There are still some of my favorites on JQ also, and I hope they continue to kick kitten as much as before. The only thing I am biased against are these annoying recurring lies.

As for your evidence, please please do post it. You will find that you were lied to, or you are hiding it yourself. Lee never posted the MOTD about gkicking you were thinking existed, and I know at the least nitejack can confirm that, as he checked before the meeting.

As for being unhelpful, you are going out of your way to give our new allies on DB a bad impression of us. Fortunately they are going with their own experiences, but your efforts are unwelcome anyways. Drop your vendetta, this is a game of internet fort, and you barely even play it in the first place. The entire extent of what happened is summed up really easily: The leaders decided to move, it was a surprise so some people stayed. The extra crap is just that – crap. I would really appreciate you posting proof of anything, I was online through the entire thing. I think you will find in your hunt for proof that terrible things went down, you will find what I told you here is accurate.

Please do give me proof if you have it, I think the search for proof will show this was not some nefarious plot, but rather a quick decision and some people that spread lies. I was one of the few people on for the entire thing, and I spoke with nearly everyone and saw none of this save for hearsay.

Your neighborhood friendly Hyade of course Biffels, and there was nothing hypocritical in that entire post. There are 90+ people on db that think everything is just peachy, and about 5 emp on the forums trying to make this into the next Y2K.

Also, if you do not think Oxy’s account is misleading, then you have inaccurate info and should get it from someone who was actually there.

Oxy as much as everyone appreciates what you are doing, you are trying to make this more than it is. Your posts are at best misleading, and I am not sure why. A lot of what happened you were not even there for, you only showed up midway through to take the guild away from the more active leaders. You say this is not an important issue but continue to misrepresent the entire thing. It is great that someone is stepping up to fill the boots in EMP, but not only is what you are doing unhelpful to us on db, but must also be unhelpful to continued efforts for expansion of EMP on jq.

Summary:

Nobody was forced to move, the leaders were not threatening to remove people that didn’t move (actually the opposite happened after Oxy logged in and staged his self-described “coup”), and there was no theft. A lot of the members causing the biggest fuss are people that literally never played with us, including a player that had never even been on our ts before logging in and demanding that his opinion influence the move.

EMP on JQ is fine. They lost a lot of active members, but the ones that wanted to stay are still there with their friends, not playing with people that want to try something else. The people that want to be somewhere else are fine, getting to start fresh in a new environment with new allies against new foes.

Some people need to step back for a second and look at how dedicated they are becoming to personally attacking other people. I see several people claiming that they are better off now, but still taking the time to insult and lie about the people that moved. Snap out of it, you are just playing a game of fort on the internet!

If any outsiders take the time to go through this, notice it is only a small number of people attempting to spread their version of events, trying to make this into something ridiculous. Don’t let these people and their nonsense deter you from coming and having some good games with us.

Kript, it was all explained rather well earlier in the thread by Eviator. We appreciate your concern but we are having a good time and are still getting settled in here.

Quick info here:

We are up to 86 players in RE, all active and excited about WvW. We have loved our time on DB so far, especially playing with the very well organized pugs and the great guilds already here. I followed some EA and BP around myself and had a great time, saw some familiar tactics and some completely new ones that were a lot of fun. We have come to the consensus that everyone here in T3 is a mesmer, and that they are all secretly portaling into all of our bases at this very moment.

There was no misinformation, and almost all the “drama” around this was unfortunately caused interguild by a few select people. The majority of the people who stayed and who left were just surprised by the move, and then decided what was best for them. We did have one person decide to go back, but we have also had others decide to join us since our last meeting. We are happy here, and we miss our guildie buddies back on JQ, but this is good for both of us. They get to stay in the home they love with their friends, and we get to go grow in a fresh environment. Especially will miss Frosty. ILU Frosty.

DB is our new home and it rocks. The players are nice and already kitten good at what they do. Enough typing for now, going back to play more.
