No, I don’t create any problems. I just feel as though the community should have the choice of who is able to see information about them, and many players feel similarly. I understand that you don’t. Thanks for your feedback.
Why don’t you want to block them though? If they are ‘stalking’ you why not use the tools at hand?
I do not want to block them from messaging me. I would not like them to know the information that becomes available from being considered a friend, since I did not accept any friend request.
They can add you without your permission and track your activity Morrigan .
They can’t track you .. they only see where you are if you also have added them as friend.
In the end its not more as if they list your name on a piece of paper or a notpad.txt files.
This isn’t true. When you add someone as a friend you see the online status, the achievement points, and the location. Without them adding you or accepting any request.
mm mostly people ask- “do you mind if I add you?”.
Even if they don’t, I am not sure why I should care?
I guess that is what I am missing here- what does it matters if someone adds me?Is stalking actually a thing or what?
Yes, it is.
followers are just people who have added you to their friends list- if you add them, they are on your friends list, if not they are on the followers list
Why is it a problem or am I missing something?
No, you aren’t missing anything. I don’t think players should be on someones friend list unless there has been a request and it has been approved.
(edited by Bevillian.1260)
I suggest changing followers so the player has to request to follow another player. I also suggest that the Blocked tab only show the name of the player.

The only server to join is Blackgate.
Teams are stacked. Classic Solo smash.
Just a little Icon bug. In the Weapon Skill Tree it shows Whirling Axe as being Dim as if I have not learned it. As you can see in this picture it has been learned on my skill bar. Thanks
Nice picture.
Thanks
I just finished it up last week
I have been thinking about this as well. Experienced players realize the differences needed between game play types and have seen the ability to switch builds instantly in the past in other games. It’s pretty standard and I agree would help a lot.
Your not going to get it. The chances of Arena Net making Ascended Materials into something that can be sold for profit are about as close to zero as they can get without actually being Zero. This is because they learned from their mistake with Legendary Weapons and the Precursors that are required for them. The instant that the Ascended Mats became something that are tradeable on the trading post, is the instant that the economy of Guild Wars will die a horrible death.
I understand how you feel, you’ve made it quite clear multiple times. Thanks.

okay I am calling troll.
Which means I now get the joke Guardian… /hangs head in disgrace/
I’m not trolling at all. Guardian was laughing about the title of the post, making a Haiku out of it
Did anyone else read this and think….
MUCH BLOODSTONE
VERY BAG FILLING
WOW
SO DOGE.
Seriously though, I’m sure they’ll get it fixed before Guild Wars 3.
no, I was thinking two pronouns with identical definitions in the same sentence is rather redundant.
I did buy the collection slot upgrade. Saying “there should be absolutely no reason that you should ever need more than 1,000 of a given item at any time anyways” is an opinion, and one of someone who doesn’t understand buying low and selling high, or playing the market. I am not trying to be obtuse, but that statement is false and doesn’t have anything to do with if bloodstone dust may be able to be sold to a vendor one day. Thanks for your reply.
Allow me to rephrase then. “There is absolutely no reason that you should need more than 1,000 of any given account bound item at any one time.”
Sure there is, in the event of my original post.
Perhaps they will be able to be sold one day, and then disposing of them would have been a bad idea.
yeah right… they are account bound for a reason. And there is nothing that will change that fact except a complete remodeling of how Ascended Weapons and Armor are acquired.
Not necessarily, given that certain things that were not worth money in the past have been made to be sold on the post, such as blueprints, which cost mats which are worth gold and were once account bound.
you do realize you can buy additional character slots. That each character can hold a grand total of 160 inventory slots. That you are essentially not bound to a single character per account. And that because these are account bound you can put them in the inventory of a character whose sole duty is for storage of these account bound items?
Yes
That said, just buy the collection slot upgrades and be allowed to store 1,000 of any item in your banks collection tabs. There should be absolutely no reason that you should ever need more than 1,000 of a given item at any one time anyways.

I’m just disposing them. Why do we even need to keep excess amounts of them ? :P

Hello devs and players, just a quick thought and question. I have an entire bank tab full of bloodstone dust stacks and 145 refined bricks. I know others have triple or more than that amount easily from farming a lot. Since it’s account bound we aren’t able to put it in our alt storages or guild banks. Is this ever going to be tradeable for gold or able to be sold to Merchants in the future? I ask because it’s a heavy drain on Karma to continuously spend 2 Shards or 4200 Karma per 100 dust to refine it into a brick. With the Karma nerf it’s not possible to keep up if playing normally, and farming just makes the excess dust even worse.
I’d like to open a discussion about the removal of Skyhammer from Official Solo Tournament Play, as well as any future tournament type play. In my opinion the unlevel terrain, edgeless map, random holes in the ground, and easily exploited mechanics and points have made a lot of people frustrated, and a lot of players who play to exploit, very happy.
In my opinion farming glory, and learning how to push and pull people into holes, shouldn’t be a part of the official tournament maps of Guild Wars 2. Lets make a good example of listening to your community and doing whats right. Remove Skyhammer from official play. Players learn nothing and gain no skill while being rewarded for exploiting.
Being on both ends of the spectrum and knocking players off the edge, and being knocked off, it does not involve any skill or use of skill to stand in a spot and press a button. You are literally letting players press one button and have that determine an entire battle. That is not balance. I’ve been concerned about how unbalanced and how terrible of a map this has been for a long time, and then I found out not to long ago that players were even exploiting it to gain rank.
Listen to your community. Remove Skyhammer. It’s layed out poorly. You need walls in Guild Wars 2 PvP. This is Player vs Player. Not Player vs Environment vs Player. If that’s what you want it to be, then call it that. A giant laser has no business being mixed in with focused players trying to time skills, gain position, and play the game correctly. You add that in with people who exploit the fact that every player isn’t running triple stability, and it makes you want to go play another game. This is official tournament pvp. Lets go ahead and play on maps that are official and not ones you can fall of the edge of or die from a giant laser. Thanks.

1. Sometimes people simply dont get to a fight until the player is downed, so hitting them a few times and moving on to get a few points wastes zero time if it’s on your way.
2. yes ONE player is needed to cap a point, but what happens when someone comes to counter you? Well if you had 2 people, you would kill him and keep the point, rather than wasting 5 minutes with 1 person fighting.
3. depending on the situation and map position, making sure someone is dead could be an important tactical move.
4. See number 3.
i think another good thing what arenanet could do would in pvp ingame stats where can see all wins and losses they should show leaves too
and at end from a match where can see rank it should show matches won/leaves
like it was in Lol (dont know when its still there) but people was proud to have 0
and people with a lot leaves collected got paired with other peoples with a lot leaves so thesy have to fight with people like they are^^
and normal players with 0 or low leaves dont saw much leavers againg anymore
That seems like a really good idea. Make it a part of the matchmaking system. Nice!
no this is not posible
cause someone would than always leave when behind in points so everyone dont lose ranking
would be exploited
Then if players exit the game while in a tournament or get disconnected then that player gets a loss. A Win should be a true win. The losing rewards should be substantial as well to entice players to stay the entire round. They need to punish those who leave or get disconnected more substantially, and reward all those players who stay the entire round, and then the winners should get a slight bonus, along with the win obviously.
If they leave after any team reaches the 250 point mark, they should get an automatic 3 day ban from tournaments
They should get a Tournament Loss
They should get a win removed.
If there previous wins are on the line, players will make sure not to leave. As I said before, make all the rewards substantial for all players who stay. The winners get that win stat, some extra gold, and a few more rank points..

There is no easy solution for when someone AFK’s/disconects during a match, the teams are bound to become uneven and nothing can be done about that.
Look at LoL/DotA, Starcraft and any multiplayer FPS….the match always starts fair n’ square, but if anyone goes AFK/disconnects during the match that team is screwed and nothing can be done about it. I don’t think any of those games convert the match into an unranked one when that happens. But what gets me is when the system STARTS a match knowing full-well that someone is AFK/disconnected. The round shouldn’t even begin in that case.
If none of these games convert the match, maybe they all should start doing that. I think it’s a perfectly fair way to deal with tournament rounds. Since those are permanent stats they shouldn’t be compromised. Allowing those matches to continue like normal is not fair. If it was converted so no team was awarded a win or loss, and everything else stayed the same it would keep it even as far as the tournament stats integrity goes.
they get banned for some days after 3x leave or disconects – its already ingame and leavers just explore this
wait some time till this guys learned and game is fine
This doesn’t solve the issue as it happens in game though. I feel if it would make it not count as a win or loss on either side, but players could still play and earn points though and finish the round, then it would be fair. They could leave in the dishonorable as well. The bottom line is that no team should be awarded a tournament win or loss if the teams become uneven at any time.
(edited by Bevillian.1260)
In my opinion there is only one way to solve this issue. If at any time during the match the teams become uneven, the match becomes unranked automatically. Thoughts?
At that point everyone who is after rank will go AFK.
Might as well just end the match there and send all the players back to queue to avoid wasting their time.
Not if players could still get all the other types of points. Unranked as it doesnt count as a win or loss. Everything else would stay the same. Youd still see people playing
Hello, I wanted to get a thread going with suggestions on what Anet should do about players leaving or disconnecting during tournament matches. In my opinion if at any times the teams become uneven, it should throw a switch and the match should become unranked.
If players are ever able to join matches to replace players, it risks giving them credit for not playing an entire round which I think is just as unfair. Since it is inevitable that people will leave or get disconnected I think that making the round unranked in that case will take the pressure out of the game and allow players to at least have fun when it becomes unbalanced. What does everyone else think?
In my opinion there is only one way to solve this issue. If at any time during the match the teams become uneven, the match becomes unranked automatically. Thoughts?
Look into endurance regeneration. Things that give you Vigor.
Oh, did something change?
With the removal of Ranks, will I still be able to /rank in PvE?
Interesting Hippocracy there Bevillian. It is okay for him to make the stament “mounts are cool”, but when I state “no they are not”, you presume you can suggest I am trying to speak for everyone while ignoring his similar comment.
by the way, Just because the same posters repeatedly making and pos on “mount” threads over and over, does not equal popularity. It simply displays the pattern of the typical forums vocal minority.
I didnt assume anything. You stated that the majority of players did not want them as your quote shows. I stated that you do not speak for the community. You speak for yourself. You stated much more than “Mounts are not cool” as your quote above suggests.
Also, because people repeatedly post about something, does equal popularity. Especially when it has thousands of views, each time it is brought up.
Also.. Hypocrisy
I don’t think you got what he was trying to say. There are people that post repeatedly for mounts. The same people. As for how much of the player base wants mounts Imo if you gave people a list of 20 things to work on putting in the game that mounts would be kind of low on the list. I’m more than fine with cosmetic mounts as long as I didn’t have to see them but if they had a speed boost players who don’t want mounts would have to use them just to keep up with the meta.
Right, so if implemted correctly they would not effect the meta. Perhaps if they were only used for PvE which has already been suggested. You both missed the part of my post that says that I do understand what you mean about players repeatedly posting about the same thing, but when it has thousands of views it is a different story. You also see the same players repeatedly filling forums with pessemistic responses to those same topics.

It is not a proven fact that mounts contribute to lag. It would’t go against any fast travel policy if implemented correctly. The games original philosiphy has changed in other ways, more recently with PvP being merged into PvE with the rewards system, which was never an original philosophy. Saying that you do not concede to changing a game because most people want it changed doesn’t make sense. Things only get changed when enough people want it changed or someone within the company wants it changed.
Also.. Hypocrisy
(edited by Bevillian.1260)
Mounted Combat isn’t something thats totally impossible.
Your assuming everyone wants to be unoriginal and copy other MMOs with mounts. I do not want mounts, nor do I feel the majority wants mounts. I feel the vocal minority needs to get over it and stop trying to put get this horrible idea implemented.
Mounts are cool
Umm, no. No the are not cool. Mounts are simply more graphic material for servers and PCs to process and a very pointless reason to cause more lag, amoungst other things.
No, he wasn’t assuming anything. He was simply stating combat would not be impossible.
He was stating his opinion when he said they were cool. You do not speak for anyone other than yourself. Mounts have been something the community keeps bringing up because it’s such a popular idea. It will not go away until it is implemented in some way or another. You said it’s a pointless reason for pc’s to process the graphics of mounts. That is not true if the game has mounts. The point would be so you could see them. More graphics doesn’t necessarily equal more lag, where are you getting this information? Also, what are these “other things”? You seem quite sure of the outcome of something that hasn’t been implemented.

- Do not remove the current emotes. They are a staple of Guild Wars 2
- Do not remove being able to use these in PvE. That is a staple of Guild Wars 2
- How these emotes are obtained is also a staple of Guild Wars 2
- Polish your current emotes to make them look and sound better
- Do not implement statistic ladders
- Leave the rank system blueprint in place
- Change points needed to get the ranks
- Introduce more emotes in between current emotes
- Implement Hall of Heroes and make at least 6 maps leading up to it.
With the removal of the rank system being announced, how long do players have to get their desired rank finishers before it is too late? Or more simply how long do we have before the rank system is gone?
This.
Removing ranks: I’m not sure what brought this forward, but is there a way we can still achieve phoenix and/or dragon rank…
This.

- 10 Silver and 200 Karma per Duel from each player This could be increased or decreased
- Rewards should be double what you spend. For example, 10 Silver and 200 Karma would give the winner 20 silver and 400 Karma. This way the winnings are effectively being transferred from one player to the other.
- When players choose to duel, they are taken to a symmetrical square arena that has an observation mode. When they leave the duel they are sent back to where they were prior to entering the duel
- All players on the server can watch the current matches using the observation mode just like in sPvP now. There could be a list of all Dueling Arenas and anyone could join the server to observe
- Food and Banner buffs removed
- Players can agree on the time limit and set it from 1 to 10 minutes, if nothing is agreed on within 1 minute, the time is set to 5 minutes by default
- Players can only ask another player to duel if they have both friended each other. This will eliminate people spamming and will satisfy the crowd that does not want it because they will never be involved in it or bothered by it in any way
- If a player leaves the duel they will get the dishonorable debuff tweaked for duels that just says they left a duel but allows them to duel again right away
Thoughts?

I should not be locked down for 10+ seconds just because I refuse to play with my 6-10 skills all set for condition removal. No class should be able to deal that much condition damage with that long a duration. No class should be able to re-apply so many confusion stacks so quickly.
If you will not listen, then consider doing this : Make burning stack in intensity. Make poison stack in intensity. Make regeneration stack in intensity. Make everything stack in the same ludicrous intensity as Confusion.
Confusion is supposed to be a short-duration, anti-chain-skill condition that punishes people for not making their attacks count. It is applied over and over and over with Runes of Perpelixity, clone-shatters, and mesmer skills. Add into the mix a targeting nightmare of wrestling with the UI to correctly target the mesmer in the middle of combat and you can see the problem.
Fix this bullkitten. Arenanet, you are better than this. Stop creating overpowered runes. Stop making ideal stuff. Make balanced stuff.
This is completely true, don’t listen to the 2nd poster, people like that will always rebut the truth and act condescending. Hopefully they will take action and start hiring better testers for PvP.
I’m not sure you know what the word truth means. Clearly, if the runes do something and it has not been signified as a bug by the developers, the truth is that they should do what they’re doing.
If, then, your opinion is that they are too powerful, then that is an opinion. Opinions are not truth.
Oh, no I know what the truth means. My previous post was written correctly. Thank you for your response. Hopefully they take a look at the runes and the balance involving some of them. That’s what balancing a game is. Things are indeed supposed to do what they say, no on disputed that. Opinions can be the truth as well. I see you haven’t moved passed being condescending.
Nicely done post, I agree completely. Bump.
I thought this was a thread about dueling. After reading your post twice, I have no idea what you are talking about.

strange ppl dont want to get the “duel me” all the time when u get ur chat spammed with emotions or spammed with dance invites. when u get a duel invite from a random person just dont respond or click refuse, as simple as that. i like dueling i find it fun maybe make guild halls or guild home instance and make dueling available there maybe that would solve the issue for everyone.
Then they could turn the option to duel off. This has already been discussed. People are worried about nothing. People won’t be dueling in the bank. Why would you want to fight someone you can’t see? Why do people ALWAYS assume the dumbest kitten about this subject. People don’t go around spamming dance invites, why would they go around and spam anything, you wouldn’t. And if you do, you’d get tired of it and stop after a little while.
If you are someone who goes around spamming duels, you will only fight and your request will only be seen by those who want to be available to duel. How would this be worse than how it is now with people just standing around spamming their skills, which the majority DO NOT DO when standing around. You would think they do if you listen to some of these peoples responses. People act like since players are able to do something, they will just do that non stop. Do the majority of players stand around spamming every skill they have? Every single player has the option to spam EVERY SKILL THEY HAVE ALL DAY, AND THEY DON’T. Be real. The game needs Dueling, period. This thread can be closed now.
(edited by Bevillian.1260)
I think PvE players don’t want duels in PvE because they don’t want to be bothered with any request, even if the box goes away if unanswered and can’t be reclicked again or even if there is an option to exempt them from any duel request.
People just don’t want to be hasseled with stuff they have no interest in doing. That is how I am and I agree with those against dueling in PvE zones because I just don’t want to hassle with stuff that I’m not interested in doing.
Even if there is an option to exempt them from any duel request, they don’t want to be bothered? That isn’t bothering anyone, that is configuring your game. It isn’t a hassle to configure your game, every single player does it. Blocking players could prevent them from even requesting a duel. You might not be interested in doing it, but that doesn’t mean it doesn’t need to be implemented.
(edited by Bevillian.1260)
A box comes up, Player X would like to duel. If you don’t respond within a few seconds, it goes away and you can’t be asked again for a minute or so. Make it have the same rules as spamming. when the duel starts, those to players have the ability to use all skills on each other while everyone else stays allied. A flag stomps down signifying the beginning. Please implement.
In this post I will bullet point what is wrong with PvP. I will keep this thread updated regularly.
* Gladiator and Avenger sound stronger than Ransacker and Marauder
* Conqueror Achievement needs a Title. If you win 10,000 matches, you deserve a title. Suggestion: The Conqueror.
* Rename Professional Assassin Achievement to Champion Assassin. Right now completing that achievement by killing 200 players in tournaments gives you a title called “Champion Slayer” so from then on every single Champion Title you get seems worse. We get the champion titles from winning 150 actual Tournament Matches as each profession, and someone else who just gets 200 kills all together gets a title saying that he or she is clearly able to slay anyone with a Champion title
* It takes 10,000 Tournament Wins in order to get a title called Champion Brawler. The player has been brawling for probably 15,000+ rounds. Once he gets to the last rank and title, he has then earned the right to be called a Champion Slayer. Up until that point he has just been brawling them. The titles Champion Brawler and Champion Slayer need to be switched.
* You go from being “Mist Walker” to being “Legendary Champion” Mist Walker sounds like what the very first title should be before Gladiator. Sounds like the title of someone new.
* Give us back more types of gameplay besides Random Arenas and Team Arenas. We want a feel of progression and we want some symmetrical battlefields. breathe life into your PvP. Don’t you remember holding Halls and the journey getting there? Don’t you remember the feeling of knowing people were observing your Halls match so they could come try to take you down? Please give your community back that feeling in PvP.
* Make the Tiger roar. The Rabbit squeaks, the deer does that rut sound, the dolyak does as well, the wolf howls, then you get to the Tiger and you get some sound lines coming out of its mouth instead of the at least a low roar like Guild Wars. The Bear is even fine and the Sharks water sound is perfect. All the animals make a sound except Tiger
When you rank it comes down and makes a woosh sound for some reason when the moon appears, the Tiger jumps out and then you see sound lines out of its mouth… The woosh sound needs to be taken away, and the sound lines need to be replaced with an actual roar.
* When players click Solo Queue in Guild Wars 2, we are taken into a tournament game that has permanent consequences on our leaderboard stats. When a player on either side leaves, the match should be forfeited for both teams. It is not fair that the full team with 5 players gets the win every single time. Either give no one points, or give everyone points that stayed on both sides. This was never fixed in the original Guild Wars either, they just put a penalty of not being able to play for 15 minutes on the player who left, which did not solve the issue..
* There needs to be a title for achieving the Champion Title for every profession. Again, in order to get “Champion Brawler” we need 10,000 Tournament wins. If a player gets every single Champion Achievement for each profession, that adds up to 1200 wins. That’s 1200 / 10000 wins. The player has 150 wins in every class in the game, and the player gets no title,. Suggestion: Legendary Champion Slayer

Just like the timer we have for the Daily and Monthly Achievements. It would be nice to have timers for all of the Living Story content since it expires. It would put an end to that feeling of “I hope I have enough time to complete this” if you aren’t someone who keeps track of that detail elsewhere. Thanks :]
Dungeons ARE a joke. Especially with the new lfg system in place, it makes it easier and faster to exploit them. Each dungeon has a path you can stack all the players in a specific spot all the way through the dungeon.
Y U NO read?
(…) if you could make an option in the options menu to disable this for rares (…)
I never wrote “remove it”, i wrote that it would be cool if everybody could choose to enable or disable that “feature”.
Exactly. People don’t pay attention. Bump.
Thank you.
I agree entirely. I very much want the ability to straight up remove spell effects in this game. They ware way too obnoxious, and I’m not okay with screwing up gameplay for the sake of some pretty bs we’ve all seen thousands of times before.
People have been asking for this for a long time. What’s the hold up, here. It’s a simple slider/option.
The “Limit Effect LOD” does NOTHING.
