current score update.
Please let me point out that we have 3 online members of WM present.. I checked.
So to say we are carried by WM is baseless and invalid. This +545 is from our “weak” dayshift crew.
Current score is kinda irrevelent. We were guaranteed second place since this morning, so instead, the normal EB group decided to take over the puzzle to get siege for the reset.
Been porting people up for the last 3 hours lol.

I’d assume they probably found a way into the spawn of another borderlands, then ran into one of the asura gates.
I doubt they’d be easily reported though, because you can’t click on dead players.

Dude, I’d much rather spend my badges on siege blueprints than stockpile them up. It’s counter-intuitive to make a commander title cost badges even if it sounds like a logical process.

No thank you. The other parts of the maps have champs, too. Just sayin’.
Arboreal Spirit: Spawns in the middle of nowhere past Speldan camp. Speldan itself is often flipped by enemy forces; it’s in a fairly contestable area.
What other champion? The harpy warrior at the ogre camp? That’s not even an event. Few people actually kill it.
My point still stands. Grub attracts too much attention in blue side. Green side has nothing to worry about. Red side’s spirit doesn’t spawn right next to the keep.
Are the other two champions better hidden or what? I go after the ghost-tree way more than the grub. Also, if people want to shoot the giant bug instead of save your towers, well, that’s really up to them.
I can guarantee you that Arboreal Spirit isn’t cleared as often as the Grub is.
And I can also guarantee you that having a chunk of players being rallied to the grub by a commander who doesn’t care about WvW is not something that everyone is happy about. Especially since it’s hard enough trying to defend towers against competent opponents in tier 1 matchups.

I agree to moving it or atleast create a likewise boss at the other 2 sides aswell but removing is a bit to much imo. It should be tempting to do it to distract people from the main combat. To be honest first time I saw the grub I though he was attacking the keep walls. That would have been nice stuff having a boss to worry about aswell as the other enemy players to distrupt the flow of the map.
I think it would be awesome too if there was a boss attacking your keep, but that means there should be bosses at the other keeps aswell. Which will create too many bosses IMO. Which maybe can be solved with a really long respawn time..
I don’t think adding separate mobs for each keep would work, it just takes away from the actual WvW going on. The alternative solution would be drastically increase the time it takes for it to spawn and up the rewards so other teams are willing to contest it.

You know why you keep losing JQ? Because I just went in to the EB JP and saw 30 of you there camped out locking the place down. This nets you nothing and SBI will win again because of your absolutely ridiculously poor choices of “tactics”.
There’s one commander on EB who dedicates his time to grub farming and sieging the puzzle. We call him a troll, but unfortunately he brings his friends and they try to rally people there non stop in chat. They then waste our already low amount of supplies on building siege.
Frankly, it’s not what we want either. The actual commanders try to run strategies, but there’s just lack of numbers and unnecessary stress among us because of this.

Background: The Overgrown Grub is a champion mob that resides to the northeast of Blue Valley Keep on the Eternal Battlegrounds. The dynamic event in which you slay it yields a high amount of experience and karma based on character level, and completion of the event also yields a chest that contains a few Badges of Honor and a chance for a siege blueprint.
Problem: I understand that the goal of the WvW maps is to create an opportunity for everyone to participate on fun dynamic events. Unfortunately, the fact that the mob exists in this area causes a problem. It drives away people from doing WvW objectives specifically from the Blue side.
Often you’ll see territory under attack, but a good number of players are occupied with the event to otherwise go help their team defend. It’s also difficult to rally players because people are afraid the event will reset and their efforts wasted.
This is actually bad enough on our server that there are a few players who purchased commander titles for the sole purpose of drawing away people from PvP objectives just to clear the grub, then run everyone to the jumping puzzle. They literally sit there and spam “Grub is up, rally here” in chat until people do it. This has happened almost every day, to the point where many of us are fed up with constantly trying to get people to help defend towers instead of going there to help. It’s also not particularly helpful when these players happen to be the only commanders on the map.
I don’t mind having PvE objectives in WvW, but the fact that the spawn point is so in-your-face for the blue side creates numerous problems in team chat and to the server’s efforts. This doesn’t happen to the green side, and the Aboreal Spirit by Speldans is far enough that people aren’t compelled to do it.
I urge you, ArenaNet. Move the Grub elsewhere. Somewhere where it can be contested over by other servers so it’s not just one side’s problem. For example, the land area on the south side of Stonemist would be great.

You need to understand that we probably have very different mindsets when it comes to defending territory. I spent ~10 hours in EB yesterday, and I can tell you the main reason why we don’t get many camp flips at Danelon and Golanta. It’s because we have dedicated groups to defending there. The Hylek camp is for the sole purpose of being a buffer so we know when the enemy is coming, and we prepare a good 15-20 people to siege up the camp in order to defend it. Why? Because we upgrade them and it’s necessary to maintain upgraded camps. Danelon also happens to be the easiest camp to defend due to chokepoints.
As for focusing on BG, you need to realize that if you don’t have the players to defend a place, it will be taken. If stuff don’t get traded between JQ and SBI, it’s because stuff is defended well. This is the nature of the “2v1” you keep insisting on. Blackgate loses territory because of the lack of players holding them, not because we decided to ally each other.
I don’t dance and laugh around with SBI when I see them. I attempt to fight and kill.

I think WM’s just taking a small break this weekend. Expect a big push on the weekday.

There’s always fighting going on between Klovan and Quentin. Why? SBI can’t stay away from Quentin. It’s like a magnet that draws their zerg from time to time. Same goes for Klovan. We love attacking it.
Good fights all around! Had an epic 3-way battle in the lord’s room of SM earlier today. Let’s keep this up.

Ah, that makes sense. I’ve gotten stuck in walls before too, so I know that feeling lol.

This is an FYI for the guild leader of SF in sbi. You guys have members who are trying to glitch into keeps. I saw a few incidents of the glitching by SF members at Langor keep in EB.
Thanks for bringing this to our attention. Can you please clarify whether this was Shining Force [SF], Select Few [sF], or Strike Force [SF]?
We take allegations like these very seriously. If we find a member of our guild has exploited, rest assured they will be removed. To help our investigation can you please gather any screenshots or evidence collected so that we can identify the offending player? If you happened to right click their name and select report you would have their account id – that would be very helpful.
Thanks again for helping out.
I can confirm that there were instances of SBI (like 2-3 people) walking into Langor Tower with the gate at 95% health. I’d like to believe it was just some bug though, and not some intentional glitch.
This happened last night when a huge SBI zerg held Danelon with a ton of siege for about an hour, and they were pushing a bit to attack siege on Langor Tower. As for the guild, all I saw was [SF]. Unfortunately, no screenshot evidence available. Couldn’t click on the dead ones to confirm guild name. :/
In any case, it wasn’t anything harmful to us, but will definitely keep an eye out in case it happens again.

It’s like having a guy sit in a tavern and telling all his friends “Well, this one time, I was alone at Hills and there were 200 enemies charging at both the north and south gates with 20 golems each. I held them off for 15 hours single-handedly until they finally took over. Shame on them for 2v1ing. I woulda won if it was a fair fight.”

So we just blew like 25 golems taking SM then fail-pushing Overlook. But dang that was hilarious.

Hrm, we seem to be doing good at the moment. JQ tends to fall off a bit on the weekdays though, so the fight really starts at that point.

A lot of their WvW guilds moved to other servers. Specifically, Blackgate/Sea of Sorrows

Kudos to SBI for the massive point push today.

Agreed. I’m having a ton of fun this week.

Had some pretty sick skirmishes with some SBI while trying to fight for control of the south island in red borderlands. Props to the few from TB guild on SBI, would love to fight again.

I’m glad there’s some fighting spirit this week. Last two weeks of WvWvW were boring.

Having ran TA many times on all paths, I can confirm that it’s quite easy as long as you know what you’re doing. I remember my first explorable mode run, where my whole party ragequit on the first hound pull because we didn’t know what to do with the blossoms. After we learned how to deal with the flowers, the dungeon became easy.
Heck, you can rally off blossoms.

A bunch of our JQ guilds who were regulars in WvWvW transferred to SoR this week.

The only reason we’re able to bring a ton of people to swarm a freshly taken supply camp is because at this point, people just want something to do. I don’t find it fun that we own everything, and the zero queue times that we’ve been getting lately kinda shows it.
It’s actually kinda crazy how many people are in the EB jumping puzzle concurrently. Dozens of dots everywhere.

Someone built a ballista on the chest in Obsidium Santum, which made it difficult for people to click on it. It was still possible with the right camera angle.
Regardless, what’s up being able to stand half a screen away and still be able to use a ballista?

Man, I love being on JQueue.
That thief shooting rainbows at you? That’s me.
Maybe you should try killing more people in Wv3 then. It happens a lot.
I think you need to kill more than two people if you’re getting 50% of players logging out on down. :P
I’ve yet to encounter this. And judging from comment history, we’re both on JQ so server-wise it’s not an issue.

With all the egotistical smacktalk that goes on the HoD vs JQ vs ET topic, this thread is such a breath of fresh air. It’s nice to see you guys having a lot of fun and praising each other for the epic fights.

Eh, morning times are pretty slow. I got into EB this morning without a queue. It’s the same for pretty much every server.
That thief shooting rainbows at you? That’s me.
Then if this is common sense, why is it cheating ? As I said, we attack whoever is on our way, if RUIN is aiming for HoD it’s great for us because HoD is the actual threat, but we don’t control that at all, so don’t come up with the double team bullkitten. We do what we have to do.
It’s not cheating. It’s a valid strategy to focus your forces on a stronger opponent. As far as I’m concerned, ET is not a huge threat, which is why we’re fighting Henge more often, giving them the notion that we’re “double teaming them”.
That thief shooting rainbows at you? That’s me.
Unfortunately every server is bound to have dishonorable players. We can only hope ANet deals with them swiftly and harshly.
That thief shooting rainbows at you? That’s me.
I’m on EB and I’ve killed countless ET at Ogrewatch already. We then took the supply camp and tower.

you wont see the guilds who transferred now, they are the ones filling you up during the day during the week, you guys were just as empty as SBI was during the off times, but if those guilds came in and filled that gap you’ll win. That is how it goes. Its a total numbers game dont fool yourselves that you are getting better, there is only so much improvement you can make in a game that is set up like this one. It all comes down to the ability to throw as many bodies out there 24/7 that you can, if you cant it doesnt matter how good you are you wont compete in the long run. But if you can then you can be competitive.
1. All the top servers are quite numbered even during off-hours. Your numbers argument is kinda invalid. It might be true for tier 2 matchups, but definitely not tier 1 servers. We’ve been actively getting of our community into lower timeslots and I’m pretty sure the other servers are doing the same.
2. Why would Titan Alliance guilds transfer to Jade Quarry of all servers? Last I checked, we’re pretty full. And I highly doubt they’d get full guilds in even in off-hours.
3. Numbers =/= win. Organized groups win. Communication wins. Not random masses of numbers. Our server constantly has a consistent number of people on teamspeak.
Go fight for your server and stop hanging out on the forums misspelling “JQ” as “JQQ”. Not only are you being disrespectful, it makes you and your server look bad. This isn’t the place to whine and complain about your opponents.
That thief shooting rainbows at you? That’s me.
I assume since HoD lost TA we will no longer be a threat to any server. It was fun while it lasted though for sure.
Are you serious?
Some guy posts that TA disbands and people just give up? The people are all there. Titan Alliance is just a name. Why should that prevent you from playing the game like always?
Look at Kaineng as a server. I constantly see posts about how much fun they have despite being in absolute last place. Those guys don’t give up. Neither should you.

You know, server hopping would be more efficient than waiting a week. I’m assuming you’re on SBI though, given the circumstances.

Good luck to HoD and SBI.

I’m all stocked up on siege and ready to go.

I ran Twilight Arbor with my guild yesterday and today. We did the Up path and the Forward/Up Path each time.
Each run took over 30 minutes.
We had a day between the two pairs of dungeon runs.
I got 30 tokens on the first run and 15 tokens on the second run. This happened again today. A few of my guild members got 60 tokens on every single run.
Technically I should have 240 tokens but instead I have 90. I’m not really concerned about the exp and gold rewards, but the tokens are kind of a big deal.
That thief shooting rainbows at you? That’s me.
I’m not really sure if it was strategically planned to hit CD’s side, because someone decided to put up a treb at Stonemist southwest, and it just snowballed into 8 trebs pointed at Durios.
There’s no alliance on EB either. Our commander in the past few days is one of those “kill them all and burn their houses down” kinds of people when it comes to WvWvW and he personally spent like 15g on upgrades.
