I am working in an office. I have a colleague, that works in the same office.

LOL, I love how serious some people take gaming. The answer to your question is no, that’s not perfectly fine. Your comparison though is ridiculous (imo).
Bad luck I’m afraid. I’m up to a little over 6500 and still not ticket here either. I don’t even try anymore (as in buying coffers), I just open any I happen to get while playing normally. I don’t expect to ever get a ticket.
So jumping puzzles aside, exploiting the game in PvE is okay then? It’s optional since you can choose not to do it. It doesn’t affect other players experience. You’re being selfish for saying they can’t exploit. Maybe they can’t play often because of a condition or lack the time to play and don’t want to be left behind.
So I guess those reasons justify it?
Again, you equate JP portaling to exploiting. We’ll have to agree to disagree. I don’t condone exploits whether they affect others or not. I see portaling in JPs as working as intended. If this was not a desired use of the portal would they not have attempted to correct this when they made the change to the EB JP?
Yes everything in this game is optional. In fact, everything in life is optional. You always have a choice. Does this justify that things that are wrong can be done? No.
Mesmer portals in jumping puzzles likely has not been dealt with compared to exploits as the end results are different. They have more important things. However, this doesn’t mean that Mesmer portals is what they intended or using them to bypass content is right.
May I ask: What you think the purpose of a portal is if not to bypass content? I’m just curious as to what you see it’s function as.
I’ll stress my point again. Just because something doesn’t affect someone else, doesn’t mean that it is right. Once again, just because something doesn’t affect someone else, doesn’t mean that it is right.
It also doesn’t make it wrong because you say it’s wrong. I think the final say on the matter is ANET’s and so far by their non-action I can gather they don’t see this as a problem or they see it as working as intended.
Meh. Been playing around mix and matching armor in the pvp locker to get some inspiration for my next character. (nvm the random dyes) I’ve no idea what to go for…

The thing is that jumping puzzles are optional and you don’t have to do them. There’s many people who play this game that have not set foot into a jumping puzzle.
I disagree with the logic that just because it doesn’t affect everyone else that means it is right. Let’s suppose I just started the game. I found an exploit to level to 80 in under an hour and a way to get exotic armor from dungeons without any effort. I also manage to exploit and get a ton of laurels to get my ascended gear. I also decide that I want a few legendaries for personal use so I use bots to farm the materials for me.
Since me doing this doesn’t affect others, then it must be okay? I hardly doubt many people would see it that way.
I agree that portals should be allowed but it’s uses within the jumping puzzle should be limited so it’s not abused.
Everything in this game is optional. I get so annoyed when people make that argument “It’s optional….you don’t HAVE to do it!” Yes it is optional, so why get so worried about it not being completed the way you think it should be? Yes I’m sure there are many that haven’t done any jumping puzzles, because they choose not to. So good for them.
You equate portals to exploiting which is flawed. Portaling in a JP would have already been dealt with if it was seen as an exploit. It’s not like all of a sudden people are portaling in JPs, that’s been happening since release. If portaling in general was an exploit it wouldn’t be a class mechanic. Mesmers portal the boulder run in CoF all the time…….is that an exploit? Are they not completing content the way developers have designed it? Mesmers portal people into garrisons and keeps in WvW….is that an exploit? They aren’t getting in by conventional means.
As a previous poster mentioned, it just seems as though you have issue with it because it makes your accomplishment diminished in some way. I agree that is your issue not other players. My accomplishments are my own and I don’t need others to validate them for me.
With the release of the newest jumping puzzle, this issue has become more apparent. People are using jumping puzzles to trivialize the content. For instance, with the new jumping puzzle a Mesmer can create a portal at the chest, wp, and then run within range to port everyone to the very end.
Can we get a debuff while inside that prevents portaling or at least reduces its range? How about having no wp’s close to a jumping puzzle? How about making it so that the portal skill cancels and is forced into cooldown when you wp?
It’s a class mechanic that in no way harms YOUR gameplay. Seems like you’re bent out of shape for something that’s pretty silly (imo). I have the choice to complete the puzzle (which is often the case) or use a portal if one is offered just like you do. I don’t begrudge others for simply using the portal. It really has no effect on me personally. It’s a GAME, lighten up a bit.
Would also like an invite if possible. Haven’t done any of the achievements yet, and haven’t set foot in the new dungeon.
Congrats to all those that have gotten tickets in under 4K. I’m up to a little over 6000 regular coffers with no tickets yet. But I’ve got a small army of minis that could take over Tyria.

Glad this was nerfed. I would hate when large groups would try to make the event fail so they could continue their obvious exploit of the system instead of you know, actually doing the event. At least they changed the walls and didn’t screw everyone by changing loot drops on mobs.

I know that Fractals already have the “Fractal Weapons” my suggestion is a bit different.
My suggestion is to have unique weapon skin for each fractal that has a chance to drop from the large chest at completion. These would be exotic weapons that fit the theme of the fractal.
Examples:
Cliffside Fractal – The Archdiviner’s hammer skin
Uncategorized Fractal – Some sort of Cube focus (similar in design to Flux Matrix) or similarly themed weapon of choice
Swampland Fractal – Mossman’s dagger if he is the final boss, or a plant themed weapon if Bloomhunger is the final boss.
Urban Battlegrounds Fractal – The Captain’s weapon (I cannot remember what it is)
Underground Facility Fractal – A dredge themed weapon if the final boss is the Suit or an ice themed weapon if the final boss is the elemental
Snowblind Fractal – Final bosses weapon or a specially designed for Fractals corrupted weapon
Aquatic Ruins Fractal – A water/sea themed weapon with jellyfish particle effects.
Volcanic Fractal – A Grawl/Lava combination themed weapon – I cannot remember if the Shaman uses a weapon or not.
Since several of these suggestions are already models in the game it shouldn’t be too hard to implement, and would give another skin option for those that don’t really like the look of the current fractal weapons.
Thoughts?
Anyone else having an issue with the auto attack skill in air attunement? This skill is consistently not hitting the target or doing any damage. Neither in melee range nor the 1200 range it shows on the tool tip. Don’t get any “Miss” wording either.

Anyone who’s already run path 3 want to form a group for some runs? I’ve also had some experience with path 1 since running 3. If interested look me up in game. I need a few more runs for my armor a d would like to get it sooner rather than later.
Had a great run yesterday with Obal. Definitely a great party leader. As McNutty said above gives great advice and clear directions.

I’d definitely like to be a part of this. Trying to get a few armor pieces for my Guardian. I have 6 80’s so I can run whatever will benefit the group. All geared in exotics. My main is a Mesmer. I’ve run all dungeons with the exception of fractals and Arah.
The no-reward bug occurred to me about a week and a half ago. We ran the run normally, clearing stuff as normal, and encountered this issue. I have as-of-yet been unable to figure out the reproduction causes with my guild, but I’m constantly trying to figure it out so that I can report it to Rob and get it addressed in a future build. If anyone has any reproduction methods, that’d help a lot with ANet fixing this.
Like others said, we killed the Howling King and it still said “Search the Catacombs for the patriarch.” Can anyone who had this issue confirm whether or not the HK’s health bar appeared in the event window or not? I can’t remember, and that may be relevant for debugging.
I can’t recall if the health bar showed up or not. I tend to not pay attention to those.
Completed all 3 paths last night and they all worked fine.
Why comment if you’re not having the issue? It just breeds confusion, some of us are actually experiencing it.
I run this dungeon everyday (all three paths) and had no issues pre 12/3 patch.
Path 1 of AC is now broken. I tried running this path twice tonight and both times the same issue occurred. After the final boss is defeated Hodgins will not finish the instance to progress to the point where you get your tears and exp. He just sits there like a fool, and when you talk to him all he says is “Knowledge is Power”. The only way to even leave the dungeon at that point is through the portal, there is no exit button above the mini-map.
Details on our runs:
First run through we beat troll and Kholer, did the mounds to get first scepter piece, then ran through mobs to get second scepter (did not kill trash). Ran to where the final boss was and killed breeders than the boss, Hodgins did not die during the battle because we took down the boss quickly.
Second run through the troll did not spawn and we skipped Kholer. Everything from that point on pretty much the same. Killed boss, Hodgins didn’t die, didn’t finish instance. No exp or AC tears.
Don’t know if it matters or not but I’m on the Fort Aspenwood server.
Please fix ASAP.
Also as a side….the Priory Camp Waypoint is now not on the main map, the waypoint is off to the side, and when you warp to it it will take you to a barren area that stretches on for a bit, eventually you will fall through the floor to the dungeon below (of course killing yourself).
