Yeah I had this issue this morning. The waypoint in front of Ascalonian Catacombs showed as contested. It’s never been contested before so I’m not sure what that’s about.
Has anyone who crafted the Eye of Rodgort also gotten the Lidless Eye skin unlocked? I submitted a ticket with support, they claim I must have purchased the Eye of Rodgort since it will not unlock the Lidless Eye if you purchase the Eye of Rodgort scepter from the TP. Only crafted Eye of Rodgorts in the Mystic Forge will unlock the Lidless Eye. The problem is I did craft BOTH the Lidless Eye and the Eye of Rodgort.
Upgrade extractor from the Gem Store?
Most likely it will be like the PVP locker, so 99.9% chance that it stays the status quo.
Thanks for the info. I was not aware of this.
So with the new wardrobe changes does this mean I can now use say Norn cultural armor on a human? I remember there being quite an uproar when Human T3 was in the gem store. Many people said that cultural armors should stay race specific. How will this be handled?

No More Tricks, Scarlet
- This achievement requires a good deal of skill and awareness, make sure you are watching for the red telegraphs that show where the Holograms will fire next and make sure you do not run through any active scorch marks during the fight, good luck!
The main problem with this achievement, afaik, is that sometimes you’re ported to Breachmaker when the fight is already ongoing, and instantly die due to spawning on “scorch mark”, so achievement fails from the very beginning.
That was another think I meant to mention, thank you for reminding me, Nighthawk. The Assault knights were intended to be a fight that players had to split up and fight at the same time, it is one of the issues we are currently looking at. The Scarlet Holo fight begins 5 minutes after the first Knight’s death; originally, this was not an issue because a map divided into groups of three would take down the Knights within 5 minutes of each other. However, with recent player tactic changes, the first Knight is dying as much as 10 minutes before players get up to the Breachmaker, meaning that you will portal up into an active fight, possibly die before you load in, and you can lose time on the Scarlet Holo Fight timer. We are working on ways to make sure that players will have much less risk to portal up to an in progress fight.
For the time being, I encourage you to encourage your fellow players to wait to kill the first Knight until a time where the other two Knights are closer to death. If you can get the Prime attunement in under 5 minutes from the first Assault Knight’s death, you will portal up to a grace period and you will have some time to load in and prepare yourself before the Prime Hologram begins her onslaught. Again, it is an issue we are aware of and should improve with the Assault Knight fixes.
I know this will be an unpopular idea, but is there anyway you can make it so the 3 knights HAVE to be killed within a certain amount of time of each other similar to Wurm mechanics? This could greatly help in getting the map to cooperate in getting the ‘Six Minutes to Knightfall achievement’.
It doesn’t appear to be working, the weapons are still the same price there were yesterday. I even tried putting tickets in my inventory to see if that would change the amount per piece. That does not work. ETA on a fix?
As far as I recall you cannot buy SOLDIER stat armor (Power, Toughness, Vitality – with Power as main stat). You can only get it from Temple Karma merchants or Dungeons (AC, HotW, and ?). You can buy SENTINEL armor (Power, Toughness, Vitality – with Vitality as main stat) but if I remember correctly that is ridiculously priced.
I’m all for a new class / new race. To touch on your comment OP I personally don’t find it redundant to have more than one of a class. I have 15 characters (one of each profession then 2 more guards/warriors/eles, and 1 more ranger), but to each their own I guess.
Did I miss the patch update forcing you to buy these runs instead of making your own group?
He says:
400-415: refine materials (wood and ori)
415-450: discover blue/green mithril weapons (8 different weapons with 8 different infusions – no settler because its to expensive)
450-470: refine ascended mats
will give it a shot when I go online today.
I can confirm this is the way I leveled to 500 in weaponsmith. However you can refine wood and ori to about 425 easily. Then from 425 – 450 I discovered blue/green/yellow weapons. 450 – 470 refining the ascended as stated. 470 – 500 discovered about 8 exotic weapons.
Since I had most of the materials or could farm the lower tiers easily it only cost me about 6g to get from 400 – 500.
I already have one foot out the door because of ascended weapons and future armor being included in the game. A level cap increase would free up my guild wars 2 time for other games.
If not full I’d like an invite as well.
The Living Story Notification UI no longer shows up on my screen and I no longer receive notifications in game that Tequatl is attacking. This means if I want to try to participate in the event I have to camp the Sparkfly map. I did not think there was a way to remove the notifications. Can this be fixed? See screenshot, there is no notification on the top right corner.

I don’t see how it ruins Jormag. Even if I’m in the zone and not champ farming I never do Jormag, it’s not worth my time.
Uhmm if other players (not you since you do not do Jormag and would sit in the area when people want access to him thus taking up a slot) want to complete the Jormag event and can not due to the area being filled in part due to the champ zerg the yes it does ruin the event for some. Some player still want their celestial weapons and Jormag like other world events provides loot that helps with that. Additionally even if a player just wanted to fight the boss just to fight the boss they should be able to do that as they paid for access to the content just like you did.
BTW there are more people playing then just you yourself.
(sic…nonsensical anger) If by some chance you want to do Jormag and cannot because you are put in an overflow (for whatever reason) there is a little thing called guesting you might want to check out
EDIT: By your logic if I’m on a map and a world event pops up that I don’t want to partake in I should have to leave the map so someone can take my spot….I don’t think so. That request is pretty selfish imo.
Hurt much? That being said you don’t read either. Next time you want to make a point and quote someone read what they said. And yes by my logic you are selfish. Did you miss that? 3 – 4 hour wait vs gathering you can get when you get back with no time barrier. Or you could just do in the overflow with no penalty (unlike Jomag).

So……..next time read or just do not comment :-)
Lets not do the whole forum battle thing you win and I do not care. Please do not bother quoting me over your nonsense in the future.
You misinterpret my post as anger where there is none, but I could really care less as I don’t tend to worry about internet people all that much.
I simply found your second post to be hypocritical, you imply I am being selfish yet in turn suggest that I shouldn’t be there taking up a spot if I’m not doing the event you think should be done.
Obviously I did read your original post since I commented on it, I still maintain the event is not ruined. I can assure you there are people on the map that are not participating in the event and not farming either. Since you are aware of the guesting feature it just seemed a bit odd you’d still think the event was somehow “ruined”. The player does in fact still have access to the content because of this feature so “ruined” seems a bit dramatic.
Sorry you see a differing opinion as a battle. Must reflect a bit about you IRL.
In any case, enjoy your next Jormag event!

Excuse me? There are other things to do in the zone besides be there for Jormag, so my being in the zone doesn’t “take up” a spot. I have every right to be there and doing so isn’t selfish of me as your post so implies. Perhaps I’m there gathering, or perhaps I’m there completing the map on an alt. i can’t believe some are actually asking for nerfs… are you like stupid or something? this is probably the game that received the most nerfs in its 1st year than any games released in the passed decade and you want more? like wtf
exactly he want it to take longer to grind for ascended etc. What happened to play the way you want !? some people just want to get legendary in this decade. Then others want to nerf some of the only profitable farms. Not everyone have time to play 15hours a day. Some people like me have jobs for them profitable farms are good.
I don’t think you read his post. I must agree with him in that it causes problem for others that are in the same zone doing other content. It’s very problematic for all in the zone. I don’t agree with his solution, but I do agree with his premise. Of course proposed solutions get heckled, but fun-fun we can just keep at each others throats in the zones until the game melts and everyone logs out for good.
you know what the real problem is? GW2 has no farmable spots. Lets say running dungeons wa truly rewarding (3-5g per run without stupid DR). Do you really think we would be seeing zerg trains farming champs? No. But since there’s absolutely nothing to farm in this over nerfed game, everyone is doing what they can to make some kind of money. Don’t blame champ farmer but &^#^ anet nerfing everything that can possibly be nerfed.
I will pose these questions to you. Why do you need to farm? Where does it state that you need all that money and materials now? Why not play the game and not just farm the game?
Why does it bother you that people farm? The farm in no way hurts your game what-so-ever. This farm is simply taking out champions in open world, it’s not like they are failing an event to farm champs.

Is it over anyway since Elonian Wine now costs 51 silver 20 copper?
Wut? They doubled the price of the wine? Well there goes all the money I thought I’d be saving by buying 200 cores for Arachnophobia instead of lodestones. Or there goes a crapton of laurels. Yay.
Just FYI….they suspended the Arachnophobia recipe to change it. (check patch notes)
So regarding this update in the patch notes:
“Weaponsmith, Huntsman, and Artificer can now be leveled to a rating of 500.”
and this:
“Crafting experience for all disciplines has been updated to accommodate leveling to a rating of 500. As part of this, the total amount of leveling experience that comes from leveling a crafting discipline now requires leveling all the way to a rating of 500.”
I interpret this as meaning that even the disciplines not yet adjusted to level 500 will still give XP based on being level 500. Does this mean you can no longer get 10 levels from say crafting Cooking or Jeweler if you go from 0 – 400 even though they are currently capped at that level?
It’s a bit tricky, you have to jump to the very top plateau of the mountain. IIRC it’s a “burned” patch with an elemental.
If you get downed you won’t get the achievement. The wording of the achievement is not clear on that point.
EDIT for clarity: You have to complete the instance without being killed or downed at all.

Wow… I swear I did each of those maps over the last few days. I should have done a better job of tracking which map gave me credit.
I’ve heard both Timberline Falls and Dredgehaunt Cliffs are a bit buggy. I am not sure though as I got credit for each on the first try.
Can someone point me to a post or forum site that lists all possible 13 Invasion maps? I’m at 12/13, and I completely lost track of what I did or did not do (or got credit for).
Bloodtide Coast
Fields of Ruin
Sparkfly Fen
Mount Maelstrom
Blazeridge Steppes
Iron Marches
Timberline Falls
Dredgehaunt Cliffs
Harathi Hinterlands
Gendarran Fields

Just wanted to point out to those complaining about farmers ruining the event that you can still progress the event by killing Scarlet’s minions. A dev has posted the following in another thread:
The waves of Scarlet’s minions are depleted by killing creatures that emerge from the portals. Kills count, not necessarily events.
The pirate and molten waves are depleted by completing events.
So running around the map killing her minions (even without finishing that portal closing event) will progress the waves even with your farm groups killing aetherblade champs.
EDIT: Link to forum post: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/livingworld/speech/Invasion-Strategy-Kill-mobs-or-Leave-mobs/first#post2687345

Can you still progress the different waves if say the Aetherblade or Molten Alliance events are not completed or still in progress?
- Reduced the time to fail timer and increased the restart timer on the event to secure Shank Anchorage in the Cursed Shore.
Latest patch update.
What the hell does this note even mean? I have to set this event up everyday and even a 5 minute difference can throw our entire night of Temple completion completely off (that sounds crazy, I know, but it’s just how the whole thing works … there’s a very specific order for everyone like basically a map full of Soupkittens and if 1 little thing is off then NO SOUP FOR ANYONE)
It would seem that the event will occur more often, so this shouldn’t effect you being able to do this. If it works how it sounds, it should give you more variety on when you can do it.
However it remains to be seen if that is how it works. I can’t see it throwing the night of temple completion off anymore than the zerg farm already was anyway.
I think you have it backwards. Increasing the restart timer means the event will happen less often if it fails. The time between fail and restart try has increased. I read it as this: the actual timer countdown of the event (meaning how long you have to actually kill the cauldrons and defeat the champ that spawns once the cauldrons have been defeated) has decreased. Meaning if you are “farming” you have less actual time to farm and for champs to spawn. Then once the event has “failed” you now have to wait longer to start the chain all over again. This is Anet’s initial attempt to curb some of the farming. Though I could be mistaken as I am currently not playing the game.
Just as it is none of your business how other people play, works both ways, except when you name something an exploit that Anet has refused to call an exploit.
Ok. So, when you say…
What they are doing if griefing and it’s as plain as the nose on your face.
…You are naming something a way to grief that ArenaNet has refused to call griefing.
We can see how weak your arguments are by how they defeat themselves. If you claim no one can judge how other players play, you can’t judge your so-called griefers.
People farm and play the TP because Anet has made every other rewarding activity and event in this game not worth doing.
Uhuh. People became rich farming CoF. This update prevented that, but it introduced a new area specifically for farming (the Crown Pavillion) as well as increased the drop loots for all Champions everywhere, including in places where there are a lot of them (the Frostgourge train).
The reason why people are exploiting Orr isn’t because there is nowhere else to farm – it’s because Orr gives a lot of money quickly, and the players there don’t think there’s anything bad about using loopholes in the game while not playing it as it was intended to be played. In other words, it’s because exploiters are greedy and they don’t mind exploiting, instead of becoming incredibly rich slightly less fast.
Who is the real selfish one here? The guy who attempts to complete one of the 5000 events in game but also griefs several dozen players, just to make a point against those ‘nasty, dirty farmers’? Or is it the zerg that wishes to make gold in order to encourage transactions in this economy?
The zerg, of course. It’s made by players that cause massive inflation for everyone else, while exploiting the game and concentrating wealth. They hurt the entire game, and one of the ways they do so is by creating the toxic atmosphere seen in this topic.
This guy. He gets it.
IMHO the “farmers” kinda bring this upon themselves. I’m not against farming, in fact I do my fair share of the champ train farming in CS and Frostgorge. I do not however participate in the failing of the Anchorage event, I simply steer clear of it, as I personally see it as an exploit. I think if farmers had stuck to simply running around the map killing champs we wouldn’t be having this discussion. Alas, that is not the case, farmers had to start to be greedy (imo) and fail an event to take advantage of the quick spawn champs/event re-start. Because of this you now have to deal with some people who will feel this behavior is exploiting. Most likely this whole situation will be nerfed/changed by Arenanet. At that point instead of the farmers QQ’ing about “noobs griefing” they’ll complain that Arenanet doesn’t let them earn any money. Greed is their own downfall.
We wouldn’t be having this discussion if people didn’t decide to grief other players.
People farm and play the TP because Anet has made every other rewarding activity and event in this game not worth doing.
Is it greed that people want the best gear or guild upgrades or anything else that Anet put in the game and said, “look shinnies”. Or is it greed that Anet removed every viable method of making the coin to get those shinnies except the occasion Champ train or gem cards.
I’ll thank you not to lay this fubar at the feet of players who are willing to put forth the effort to get those shinnies, this is Anet’s doing. It’s not greedy to want the best gear/guild upgrades/etc. but is the “I must have this right this instant” mentality greedy? IMO yes it is. You make is sound like there is ABSOLUTELY NO WAY TO MAKE ANY MONEY IN THIS GAME without taking advantage of failing an event for plentiful and quick champ spawns/resets. That is simply not true, it’s just your justification to continue doing what you’re doing. It’s the “it couldn’t possibly be my fault” argument.
Also, sitting in a zerg of 20+ people auto-attacking does not require effort.
I see you ignored the fact that it takes effort to do everything else, but I thank you for ignoring my point and telling me how I should play my game and how long it should take before I see any reward for my efforts…really appreciate that, you have no idea how much, can’t thank you enough…swell of you…
Hmm, don’t really see in my post(s) where I’m telling you how to play your game. Simply stating my opinion of the matter. What exactly did I ignore that it takes effort for? Failing the event? I guess that takes effort to not kill the cauldron. What else did I miss?
EDIT: To address your update. I make money by doing DEs, killing enemies around various maps, World Events, selling crafting materials, selling loot drops, and also through the champ boxes that are dropped when I do champ train farms (notice I did mention that I do participate in that).

Failing to complete an event is not an exploit. You can continue to try and label it as such but it is not and just make you look foolish no matter what kind of spin you are trying to put on it just to make yourselves look right.
While I don’t want to argue with your opinion. I will say this, a similar argument was given for the Champion Risen Giant farm on the steps up to Arah that went on for awhile a month or two ago. Look what became of that. I won’t proclaim to know that Anet changed it because they saw it as an exploit, but none-the-less it was changed. That says something.
Just because something is changed doesn’t mean it’s an exploit. Anet just wanted to alter it so that the gold/loot acquisition rate is ‘normalized’ with the rest of the game. Anet has a vested interest in making sure gold is not easy to acquire.
If it was an exploit we would all be banned – just like the people who farmed Lyssa or Grubs or the Giant.
I farmed anchorage WAAAAAAY because this patch. I used to intentionally fail it so I could farm normal embers for their lodestones. I made 10g/h. Of course people back then also griefed, and they also reported me.
But I’m still here…“exploiting”. But I guess it’s not an exploit because I’m still here?
I never claimed it was an exploit, and even stated in my post that I don’t proclaim to know Anet changed it because THEY saw it as an exploit. I simply state that a similar situation to this one (the Giant Farm) was changed.

I can feel the hate headed my way, but you sir are indeed a Hero.
Yes, exactly the same.
Sweet, the Archdiviner’s Hammer.
You can use the transmute trick to get the order armor you want on the character you want it on though….it’s just going to cost you some transmutation crystals.
1. You buy the armor you want (using a character in that order). The armor will be soulbound.
2. You then buy a “white” item of the same type from a vendor
3. Transmute the skin you want and the stats of the white item to make the item account bound.
4. Put it in your bank, take it out with the character you want to use it on, then use another transmute crystal to transmute the skin onto the stats you want.
She’s part of the Human personal story line and the CM story mode. I doubt she’d be assassinated.
As someone who has leveled 10 characters to 80 (by various means) I’m happy to have this scroll, when I eventually get around to making another character (because I have a serious alt-o-holic problem) I’ll love having this for an instant 20 levels. Thanks ANET!
And as mentioned by others, it’s free stuff you can delete if you don’t need/want. Try looking at the good side….at least you are being rewarded for your achievements points. You could have gotten nothing at all.
I asked: as a warrior what runes or orbs would you run in knight’s armor? And no one could say anything except DITCH KNIGHT’S DITCH KNIGHT’S FULL ZERK FULL ZERK FULL ZERK
I asked them what their reasons were for never running anything but zerk, and it EVENTUALLY came out that you didn’t need any mitigation because a guardian or d/d elementalist can keep you alive
I asked, what if you don’t have these in your party? What if you’re in a PUG and you want some mitigation with knight’s armor?
The general consensus was “join a better guild.” C’mon. I didn’t want to be told to “just use zerk,” I wanted some advice on what to slot into my knight’s armor!
My suggestion might be to use Valkyrie stat orbs (Pwr, Vit, Crit Dmg) or sigils that have some crit damage vitality/power in them. I don’t follow the zerker mentality on my warrior either (just my preferred playstyle). I imagine though most on the forum will tell you just to go zerker. I say choose whatever is best for your playstyle and build.
ya because running to cursed shore from lions arch takes no time at alllllllll
listen I find it boring and I played eve online for 3 years where you don’t get any of this noob insta travelling
Insta traveling is for noobs…but you insist that you should get insta traveling automatically on all your characters.
It’s starting to make sense now. Also, you’re right. I forgot about traveling from LA to Arah. That’s just something I generally do as a leveling mechanism, so I forget about that run.
Running from LA to Orr takes at most 10 minutes if you use the optimal path and don’t stop to do hearts on the way or try to 100% each map (assuming you’re really only concerned with getting some waypoints on each map)
You might give us a shot. We’re not focused on dungeons as a whole, but several of our members are interested in them, and we have a couple other guilds that we muster people from when we don’t have a full RoMS group.
Here’s info about my guild, the Roses of the Moonlight Sigil [RoMS].
In short, we are a casual PvE/PvX guild that emphasizes mature and respectful behavior on the part of our members (though a humorous/crazy streak is encouraged). We’re very laid-back about how people play the game, and don’t throw a fit if someone isn’t decked out in all exotic/ascended items and don’t necessarily know everything in the game. We’re relaxed, we teach, we chat and have fun together. That’s what it’s all about. (As an added bonus, it’s an extremely rare occasion that I have to deal with any sort of guild drama).
We generally do weekly Guild Bounties and WvW, as well as other random (and occaisionally whacky) events thrown in for variety.
At the moment, we have 10-25 people who login and represent RoMS on a daily basis (total roster 96), as well as a couple friendly guilds who we often muster with if not enough players are available for a particular activity. We’re most active in the evenings based on Central time zones, but happy to expand our activity at other times.
For voice, we typically use vent, but mostly only for WvW or sometimes dungeons.
Please be aware that RoMS does have an application that it requires for new members, to ensure that we get people who fit the guild’s philosophy. Additionally, the guild is PG/Family-friendly, and no swearing or explicit content is allowed.
If you have any questions, or would like to apply to join, please either contact me ingame or visit our website:
RoMS Homepage:

I will check out the website and have my friends do the same. Thanks for the info!
Is there still a good guild alive for dungeons anywhere in the world??
DS is incredibly efficient, very skilled players (Lupi down in 26s right Dub?), but I just cannot bear LoSing every single boss there is!
Is there really no one looking for challenge? It seems people just use strats that are not exploits in themselves but that are definitely not the way developers intended us to go about the dungeons.
Namely:
-If you are using the fact that Alpha does not hit you with his spells when backed against a wall at melee range then you are avoiding the challenge.
-If you LoS kholler (AC mid boss) then you are avoiding the challenge
-If you use safe spots anywhere then you are also avoiding the challenge
Well you get the idea. It’s all only because warriors have an insane dps with their high passive defence.
Luckily ANet is releasing content that requires a more creative play than just rotating GS + Axe and dodging once in a while.
But until the meta game evolves I am just bored!
Is there really no one here looking for a proper challenge??
I’d like to know if there is still a good guild around for dungeons as well. I have two friends that have recently come back to the game and would like to take them through dungeons but my current guild doesn’t really run them that often and I find that most pugs are not accommodating to their inexperience. I’m also a member of the NA Arah LFG guild but I’m not sure my friends are up for Arah (or Lupi) quite yet.
Hi CelebrityX
What hours do you all typically play?
We typically play weeknights from 4pm – 11pm PST, weekends is more sporadic (sometimes all day, sometimes not at all).
I’m looking for a guild mainly focused on dungeon runs (any or all dungeons) for myself and two friends. I have experience on all paths of all dungeons but my friends are relatively new to the game and dungeoning, but both of my friends have level 80 Guardians. I myself have at least one level 80 of each profession.
My current guild doesn’t really run many dungeons anymore and is more focused on world event chasing so we struggle to find people to run with and LFG is not as tolerant of inexperienced players (imo).
Currently on the Fort Aspenwood server and not really looking to change. Ideally would like to find a guild that doesn’t mind not repping 100% of the time. If you’re also ok with us being on a different server that’s great too.

Can I ask what event you were doing?
The only current way to transfer for free is to delete all your characters on your account, then you are able to transfer for free.
I have no problem with using the portals in JPs if people want to, I don’t see any issues with it personally. I just found it odd that someone argue that it was OK to use to bypass something required, but no OK to use to bypass something optional. Seems somewhat hypocritical. Either you find it OK or you don’t.
