So, should all of the order and race story elements have been shoehorned into my human Whispers character play through?
nah, I just believe that if you’re giving one race an exclusive quirk, others should get their own. Else only one race has a unique experience making it only worth it to play as that race and that race alone, as it’s extra lines and not changed story in general. Meaning currently sylvari is the only race with the full personal story experience. Which is wrong.

Roll a sylvari, or better yet just wait a week and people will post the vids on youtube. I see nothing wrong with a race being unique, and seeing as it fits the dragon/plot in this case I say good job ANet.

A short update:
We’ve been working heavily on the dodge abilities, making them react the same way that your normal dodge occurs. There have been a lot of long hours, but we managed to get this functionality in for the next beta.
- The ‘Bound’ dodge animation is shorter and more appropriate for a dodge.
- Dash – The extra distance has been removed for now as well. Dash now breaks immobilize in addition to its other effects. For now, the animation is just going to run you in the direction you’re dodging.
- Impaling Lotus – The jump has been removed, as it caused issues that couldn’t be remedied. I’ll update if other things happen.
Other things:
- re: Shalien. I haven’t got this in the next beta, but the plan is to drastically reduce the cast time of Channeled Vigor. (3/4 to 1 second or so)
- Idle/running animations while wielding a staff are not planned to change at this time. There are, however, a couple of animations being worked on as development continues.

For Heart of Thorns, we are rebalancing the WvW Lifetime achievement requirements to much more reasonable numbers. At the same time we’ll also be updating many of their associated titles.
- We are not changing the Realm Avenger (“Ultimate Dominator”) achievement requirements or title, as some players have actually obtained it and it’s a bit of a status symbol.
- The “Yakslapper” title will remain, but the requirement is being reduced to 2500 yaks.
- As an example title change: “Ultimate Liberator” will become “Kingmaker”
I have 27k dolyaks killed, so yeah thanks for de-valueing all my efforts… I also have 20k camps flipped, which I now suspect you are also going to nerf into casual player territory. It really is disappointing that it took you 3 years to fix the achievement situation and then when you do everyone that has put in any real work towards titles gets a slap in the face….

I do not believe its the game engine as much as I feel its related to the CoherentUI.
If you disable the UI the game runs normally, even on max settings. Its really as simple as that. As you open more UI windows the FPS drops even more. Open inventory, get a FPS drop of 5-7, open the Guild Panel, FPS drops by 5 more, Open the WvW Panel, more FPS drops. Also, There is something going on with the UI that is driving the GPU usage up by at least 30%
As Felipe mentioned, we only use CoherentUI to display the gem store, currency exchange, and trading post. All other UI is using an in-house UI solution. The vast majority so far appear to have performance issues unrelated to that dialog.
Also, Coherent dropped support for the 1.x builds at the end of 2014. You are using 1.8.×.x in GW2, which is not fully supported anymore. If you are tacking on UI changes that ‘breaks’ the API Coherent isn’t going to help you guys with it unless you are running a 2.x Build from them.
That’s not really true. We have a very good relationship with Coherent, and have received great support when needed (including this year).

Last year, Wintersday music would repeat in holiday areas like the activities and the city. Now it just changes to standard Kryta music or whatever skyrim-sounding thing after the first play. Not immersive.

- An outdoors portion
- Closed roofed areas + open roofed areas
- Verticality is optional
- Doors
- Small 1v1 quick PvP arena
- Add ability to visit guild hall from anywhere but have no merchants or BLTC employees
- However, have only the first guild stash accessible in the hall (not treasure trove or deep cave)
- Incentives to visit the hall daily or multiple times a day
- Gathering nodes, potentially with rare chance at exclusive mats
- Designate asura gate (or other) to one location in the game
- Kouris
- Use same music set as Kryta or Lion’s Arch
- Put the guild hall on some remote island in Tyria so then you don’t have to leave the map to waypoint, or make Guild Island have a waypoint
- Add holiday/living world exclusive modifications (temporary/permanent buffs/nodes or just purely visual changes)
Do not:
- add ability to gate areas to guild ranks (unless it makes the use of guild bank more creative or something)
- add ability to lock doors
- put the hall inside racial home instance
- Remove day/night system
- Disable commander tags, running, parties etc
- Have “low budget MMO”-style preset selection (as in, please don’t make customization as basic as choosing between eg Kryta/Ascalon/Shiverpeaks/Maguuma or, even worse, charging a gold fee to change)
