Working as intended? They could have at least mentioned the change.
They made the suppression filter even more sensitive. It’s now across all characters/maps. You can no longer reset it by logging off, changing areas, or changing characters. You can no longer hop from map to map advertising your guild.
Seriously annoying. I thought it was bad before but now it’s even worse.
Last night I couldn’t sleep, so I got up and was messing around on GW2. I had enough random exotic dungeon weapons from pvp for 2 tries in the mystic forge. I tossed them all in and got nothing, except 2 random exotics worth like 2g each. Normally I don’t toss in exotics I can sell on the TP, but this time I wasn’t going to settle for ~4gold.
I go back to my bank and grab my last 2 exotic pvp dungeon weapons and head back to the forge. I throw them in hoping to at least get an exotic worth 4g+ to counter my losses, but to my extreme surprise, The Colossus pops up on the screen. I freak out, and think there’s no way that’s the hammer precursor…I only threw in 4 random mismatched exotics…not even all level 80…I must have gotten the names for the precursor mixed up. My cursor never moved so fast. I scrolled over the icon and read it like 5x in 2 seconds. “This weapon is used to craft the legendary hammer The Juggernaut” HOLY SUPERSOAKER this can’t be real! I spam “i” and open my inventory, not wanting to believe my luck until I saw it for myself in my inventory. There it was! That beautiful hammer! The holy grail of GW2 drops. I spam map chat in joy, talking in all caps, and then sell it instantly on the TP…out of fear that somehow it’ll disappear from my inventory.
I just sat in my chair, shocked from just what happened, while people in map chat talked about how I used all my luck this year and about how unfair RNG is. 4700 hours and I finally get my first precursor from the forge! Wow! Best of luck to everyone still trying, but as you can see, even if you have horrible luck like me(4700hours), it is possible. Nearly all my tries were from dungeon weapons, and I’d estimate this was my 15th or so combine.
So do we get a character slot for our money?
in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns

If they do, they need to increase the maximum number of character slots. The cap now is 64, and me(and others of course) have already hit that cap.
I was commanding(holding a flame ram and about to drop it) on the easternmost gate of the green keep of EOTM when a troll knocked me underneath the right corner of the gate. I was standing on a rock underneath the right corner of the gate while my camera bugged for like two seconds and then I got ported inside the keep.
I had to wait on my allies to knock down the gate in order to down the boss though lol.
Bump, still recruiting skilled players.

S. Guardians (Must have in EVERY party in EVERY group)
A. Eles, Necros, Warriors (Could all really be S tier but you don’t absolutely need them in every party)
B. Mesmer (Need atleast 1-2 veils, TW is good for dps/golems, portal sometimes good.) Once you have 1-2 in your group any more is a waste of a slot.
C. Rangers, and Engis to a degree. Rerolling to any S or A class will benefit your group more. I don’t even play a ranger and I think they should be buffed to offer more in a group setting.
Bump. Still recruiting. We’ve been growing steadily
Bump. Still recruiting. Changed order of class recruitment priority.
Hi guys, I am an officer of [PR] Phoenixes Reborn on the Jade Quarry server. We’re a relatively new guild comprised of the WvW core from some of the top guilds on JQ as well as a few others who moved servers to be a part of us starting up. Our two main commanders are Ben Sheets and Sitruc. We’re looking for active, determined WvW players who are are willing to learn and adjust their builds for organized group play in WvW.
Our main objective is to run ~25 man counter-zerg groups with proper builds, communication, and teamwork. We are not concerned with PPT like many other JQ guilds are, but rather we focus on having the most fun fights possible in WvW. There is no glory in steamrolling smaller groups with 70 man blobs or capping an undefended tower, but there is a lot of fun in taking down larger groups with a skilled group of combatants.
We currently…
- Use TeamSpeak 3 for communication
- Have forums with our builds and gameplay strategies posted
- Are a friendly, welcoming member base
- Are located on the Jade Quarry server
- Run mostly during NA prime(approximately 8pm EST to 12:00am EST)
We’re looking for players who are…
- Engaged, determined WvW’rs
- Potentially newer WvW’rs willing to learn and adapt
- With regards to classes, guardians, warriors, necros, and eles are needed most(in that order)
- Active during our prime
- Not elitist in the sense that they’d put others down
If you’re interested…

The highlight of HzH’s night, we had a blast facing RISE, HL, Hel, and ESOL. Keep the good fights coming and enjoy!
One of the best WvW videos ever made.
THIS is how you defend a tower against a BG blob. This video has been brought to you by DA.
This is for you Ben.
That was me on the AC by the gate! I’m famous! lol
I’m curious to see what everyone considers their “main” to be. Why did you choose that class as your main?
I currently consider guardian my main. I’ve always preferred the tank classes because it feels like you’re the center of attention. Guess I’m more juvenile than I thought, lol. I do have some logical reasons though.
Some reasons:
1) WvW is incredibly fun when you can actually charge into their zerg and live.
2) PvE is ridiculously easy on a guardian. “Watch this guys! I can solo this champion and 2 vets with facetank+autoattack! Brb while I get a drink.”
3) Guardians are typically in high demand in all game modes and I feel like I contribute the most to a group when I’m on my guardian.
Edit: Since others are giving their race, I’ll give mine as well. I’m a Sylvari guardian (made my toon while drinking and thought…“Wut…I can be a tree!?”)

My main was an ele..full ascended and everything. I liked playing D/D but now it feels so slow. RTL was my favorite skill for getting around the map, now it’s so nerfed we basically just have swiftness and lightning flash. I’m almost a strictly PVE player so I wasn’t on the SPVP bandwagon. We were already weaker in PVE than most classes but at least it was fun. I keep trying to return to my ele, but it’s so hard to get into now. 15sec 1500 range to 40sec 1200 range is insane. (CD is nearly always 40sec even if you try to use it offensively). Since Ele is no longer fun, I’ve been playing on my guardian/warrior/thief(wvw only)…and things have never been easier.
As a guardian…“I won’t offer much help to other players” is completely inconceivable. Guardians are one of the highest valued classes in all game modes. You can’t go wrong.
Title says it all. Compare it to another core. They link as “Onyx core” ..etc. and this one links as “Charged cores”
If anything opens/is opening on a NA server please whipser me. My char name is Sitruc and I should be on for a few hours.
For my legendary, I did EB jp every day on all my level 10+ chars. Then I spammed our borderland jp(fewer enemies go to the JP there) on all my chars. If I was really into grinding I would delete/recreate a char and keep doing the borderland JP on a level 2 char. It took me 3 days of about 4hours of play each day to get all 500 badges. You can get all 500 in one day if your borderland JP isn’t camped(it rarely is).
Tip: Do JP’s naked. If you get ganked, just come back later or switch to a different JP. Spamming your home borderland JP is faster/safer than the others.
Clear your mailbox and buy a bunch of them Wizard Hats from the gemstore (0 gems each) and you’ll get the achievement.
If you use a GS, having 20 points in our 2nd tier for Forceful GS is near mandatory. Might adds more DPS than any of our other traits COMBINED.
From a PvE perspective, the Endure Pain trait is pretty shoot-or-miss. Against a hard boss, it’s pretty easy to go from like 35% hp to 0 hp and the trait won’t even activate. It also doesn’t help against condition damage/agony.
The balanced stance trait activates when you’re knocked down, but DOES NOT break stuns/knockdowns. It’s not uncommon to get knocked down, have balanced stance activate, but yet still stay knocked down for like 4 seconds. So it doesn’t help you the first time you’re CC’ed, but helps you for a few seconds after you’ve recovered from being CC’ed. Again, this is pretty useless in PvE, because 99% of mobs have a big delay before they use their knockdowns/stuns again.
Generally for PvE, I would not recommend going over 15 points in the defense trait line. However, some traits are suited for mace/shield and hammer builds(which very few warriors use in PvE).

At the part where you jump down and first get hit by agony, you can actually stand right on the edge of the platform and be ressed by the people behind you you. Surprised how few people know about this.
It might take you a few tries to get it right. A friend of mine shared it with me on 30 when our group had low AR, but it still took me 2 tries to find the “sweet” spot. You’ll actually look like you’re standing on air.

Using the Guardian GS#5 skill(Blinding Blade) on a tentacle right before it dies will result in the tentacle dropping multiple crystals.
Using this bug definitely removes the possibility of a crystal shortage. Abusing this bug allows you to kill Jade Maw before phase 3, because each tentacle will drop ~10 crystals. Killing Jade Maw before phase 3 does not glitch the fractal, but you will still have to kill the rest of the Jade Colossus to complete the fractal. The only difference is that you get to skip phase 3.
I consider the phases of the fight to be:
Phase 1: Starting phase, 2 tentacles up and a bunch of trash mobs.
Phase 2: 4 tentacles that do not respawn and multiple Jade Colossus
Phase 3: 6 tentacles that respawn until the boss is dead.
Here’s the breakdown:
Normal:
Team DPS’s a tentacle down to 0 hp.
Tentacle loses all debuffs and becomes invulnerable.
Tentacle drops a single crystal.
Tentacle disappears.
Buggy:
Team DPS’s a tentacle down to low hp.
Guardian uses GS #5 skill and puts the “debuff” on the tentacle.
Team brings tentacle to 0 hp.
Tentacle becomes invulnerable loses all debuffs EXCEPT the guardian GS#5 debuff.
Tentacle is stuck in a “loop” and drops crystal after crystal until the debuff wears off.
Tentacle disappears.
The bug is actually kind of neat. A guardian can “make it rain” crystals, which leads to a lot of “lol’s” “omg’s” and “wtf’s” in party chat.
Battle Standard tooltip is wrong. In the description it says it gives swiftness, then below it on the buffs it says it gives stability. It actually gives swiftness. Would much prefer stability over swiftness
Here’s a picture.

I’m not sure if this is known yet, but in fractals there are two bugs that allow you to get to the fractal “world map.” Once there, you can run to the ascalon fractal and pick up the npcs. They will follow you and you can go back to your fractal and use the npcs. The npcs will even spawn with you again once you complete the fractal.
Bug #1 is in the colossus map. You can fall down to the “world map” and use a revive orb. Then proceed to pick up the npcs.
Bug #2 is in the jellyfish map. Underwater, along the west wall, about 1/2 way between the first and second prisoner cages, is an opening in the ceiling. You can go up through the opening onto dry land and then run to the ascalon fractal to grab the npcs.
Notes about npcs: They are useless underwater(they have no underwater attack). If you are unlucky and get the ascalon fractal, the npc’s will no longer follow you to the next fractal(they still work in the ascalon one though.)
Attached is a picture of us using them in the blizzard fractal.

We 4manned fractal 30 without any agony resistance. Wiped twice on the dredge powersuit boss and once on the grawl boss, but we beat it within an hour and a half. We didn’t use revive orbs or any other “cheap” tricks. For Jade you can just go in one at a time and have the people above you res(we do this whole fight naked.) Annoying, sure, but definitely doable.
I personally didn’t get a ring until I was on floor 28. They make things easier, but you don’t need them to progress.
After recently acquiring a legendary weapon, I’ve become very interested in using it on my alts. I have two suggestions.
1. Add an “unbinder” item to the gemstore that turns “soulbound” items back into “soulbound on equip”.
or
2. Make legendary weapons account bound.
Necro was my first class, first with 100% world, first with full exotic. I thought I was good until I leveled Warrior/Guardian to 80. The difference in ability is insane. I’ve barely touched necro in over month now, even though it’s my favorite class. Why do stuff on necro when I can jump on warrior/guardian and do it 3x faster/easier?
Suggest guardian if you want to be near invincible and the most valued member of your group. Suggest warrior if you want to pull ~OMGWTF~ DPS numbers with “better than average” survivability in a “GLASS” spec.
The highest DPS runes to use with a GS are 6x Superior Runes of Strength. They beat every other rune including ruby orbs for pure DPS on any build that can keep might active.
If you’re running shouts and want to have more survivability/group utility, 6x Runes of the Soldier is a no-brainer. Dungeon groups will love you.
For general PvE, I suggest 5x Rune of the traveler/pirate/noble and 1x Rune of the traveler/pirate/noble(excluding the one you got your 5x from). Magic find is great for maximizing profit/drops.
Honestly didn’t read even 10% of this thread, but I for one am glad they’re adding new armor and a new/harder dungeon. I’m maxed out in PvE and haven’t had much to do except build up gold(yes, I have EVERY dungeon skin.) It’d be nice to having something to strive for again. This new dungeon scaling in difficulty may be the best thing they’ve added. The current dungeons are too easy with a good group. Most paths you can clear within 30 minutes without even trying. You can clear the CoF paths in 9-15 minutes each. I say, “Bring on progression and harder content!”
But wouldn’t you agree that there is no reason for this to impact WVW? It’s great that your gameplay is being enhanced, but these changes hurt my gameplay.
As someone that plays 8 chars and wants to WVW in all of them, these changes make it that much more grindy to enjoy my play. I simply want to cap my stats with exotics and forget about gear entirely.
The compromise is to give people like you who enjoy pve dungeons and character gear progression something while not impacting players that only pve for WVW. These changes don’t do this.
I do agree you shouldn’t have to do PvE if you’re only interested in WvWvW. I believe they’ll add an ascended gear tier to WvW rewards. If they changed WvWvW so you started with max gear/max traits/max stats, they would have to remove the PvE reward element from it(karma, EXP, gold, drops) which would make other players mad. I don’t think ascended gear will be extremely difficult to obtain either way, it just may take a week or two to get a full set(once they implement it all.) Right now, it seems most people pretty much ding into a full set of exotics once they hit 80. If I really wanted to just do WvWvW and have max stat gear, I’d start saving tokens now to buy items the moment they’re released.

In CoF Path 2 on the final boss that’s invulnerable to everything except bleeds. If you kill him before killing the crystal, you will not get credit for beating the dungeon.
P.S. Reason our group killed him was because we were bored, had to wait 15 minutes else we would of hit DR for clearing dungeons too fast.
