@souldonkey First of all, Have you even checked out the other class forums? Most of the whining is, “OMG why don’t we have speed boosts” or quality of life changes". I know how to play the class. In sPvP I always end around 3rd/4th place point wise. I know how to play, but it doesn’t seem balanced that for the amount of work that needs to be done for a ele is accomplished by a whirlwind + KD + hundred blades or a HS.

They think by white knighting they will earn some Anet points. But, just like how you say two people quitting wont do much, your white knighting won’t get you jack.
I’m done till something is changed. I dont care if you buff us or nerf the other classes so they require as much work as we do.
Im tired of getting heartseekered 5 times and dying. Getting hit by a hundred blades for half my health.

I’m more concerned about stats form gear, and not traits. My traits are already locked in at 10/20/0/10/30.
Since I use double dagger, I’m upfront a lot more often and need to settle on a defensive stat. I’m just not sure what is more beneficial. Toughness, or Vitality.
Was wondering what you guys felt was more appropriate. Right now I use Knight’s gear (Toughness/Power/Precision).
Its fine the way it is. You can always decrease the CD with traits. If you don’t like the heal form this, grab elemental harmony.
Depends on ur playstyle/goals.
Both setups are viable imo, but they have a different style.
I currently run a d/d build, because it serves my role in my team better than s/d would. It’s more reliable than scepter and offers good damage, good utility, good survivability… but I’ve also played with s/d for a few hundred games and it worked.
If you like d/d more than s/d you should use it… don’t worry, it’s a strong setup. For build I can give you some inspiration/hints:
- You should get some survivability, either from traits, utility’s or amulett. Soldiers Amulett with Zerker usually is a solid choice when running offensive utility’s (double arcane for example) and traits. With more defensive traits and utility’s you can run a Zerker Amulett with Zerker/Soldier gem.
- You should at least get 10 points in fire (10% more dmg in fire) and 10 points in arcana (Elemental Attunement).
- If you decide to go double arcane for more burst, getting 30points in arcana for traited arcane spells can help greatly (shorter cd’s + extra effects).
- Zephyr’s Boon (Auras grant fury and swiftness) from the air tree can be great for d/d, in combination with fury from attunement swich you’ve got huge fury uptimes which really helps, since you’ve got a low base crit-chance when running a soldiers amulett.
Right now I’m running a 0/20/0/20/30 setup with D/D. Can that be effective? What utilities are beneficial for this setup?? Skill combos? :/
Please elaborate on why? Also, Builds would be appreciated.
I’m having a hard time playing my ele, and would like some outside input. I like my D/D right now, but it feels very weak. BUT, when I use S/D i feel dragons tooth is too unreliable.
I think it just makes a lot more sense to have made Elementalist dual wield pistols over dual daggers. Giving them a slight range to compensate for their horrid survivability and that would slightly help with the over nerf from Beta to Live.
I think they should have made it double pistols instead of double daggers. Makes a lot more sense.
I have no friends anywhere near my level. Also, if this game had more reasons to actually group, maybe i’d find people to play with.
I don’t know about other servers, but on Stormbluff Isles, I can never get a group. I have not had any problems getting a group for any other dungeons within their respective zones.
I’ve tried LA, as well as the area outside TA. Its been days.
Have it on my dagger, and it will not get stacks. My Bloodlust works fine though.

Can this please be fixed? I really want my reward for completing this map. Or at least just remove the inquest gate until you can figure out what is wrong.
How many of you are feeling it? After getting my ele to 70+, I realize that they are just crap. I’ve tried all the weapons out. I’ve tried going the more toughness route, and I still die quicker than a poor Rabbit.
They don’t even do enough damage to justify how frail they are.
Its been this way for a lonngggg time. It’s upsetting.
The skill challenge is bugged. Says the mob is spawned, but he isn’t and there is no way to reset it.
