On the subject of spectators. I’d love to see eventually a TS channel where the spectators can have someone shoutcast the fights live for them while they watch.
Realistically, without an official arena with spectator mode, this isn’t feasible, unless the casters are willing to pay a disgusting amount of gems each week.

This probably isn’t going to be a popular statement with a lot of you, but I’m all for getting the GvG comments out of the WvW forums. It’s pretty much irrelevant in a WvW matchup thread, although it does bring a certain amount of drama to the table. The drama I don’t mind, but all the high fives, GG’s, ect., ect. are quite boring.
That being said, I doubt Anet will giving anyone a GvG format and/or map to play on. They’ve got Spvp tournaments and you have the ability to PAY for your own areas to fight in. There’s your level playing field and your GvG format. I can almost guarantee that would be Anet’s standpoint as well. I’d be very surprised if they actually did create an actual GvG arena for free.

kinda, GvGs aren’t conquest, but elimination deathmatch. GvGs are anywhere from 15v15 to 25v25 – not happening in SPvP.

level playing field? i don’t get this argument, everyone has access to the same stuff. food, gear, etc.

and as far as “do it in spvp” being their standpoint, so be it. we’ll continue to do them in WvW, where we find it more suitable.

i would say yes! until the guilds from the lower tiers come up to get some fights and show us what they’re made of, i would say Agg, NS, and TW – in no particular order – are the top 3 NA currently. i’m really looking forward to the NS vs TW whenever it happens.

i still like to roam in NA as it’s kind of dead in EU during NA prime, so you’ll probably see me running around on a warrior or ele.

i also love to spectate any GvG i can, so seeing me at one would be pretty common! feel free to shoot me a mail or whisper ingame ( Darius Glazkov.9750 / xio.3798 ) with any you might have scheduled as i know some don’t make it on the site due to wrong date/time, no maps, etc. sometimes i record them – who knows where the footage may end up someday!

fair point – and i certainly agree. however, we don’t complain about you hiding in towers while saying we’ve never seen any skilled groups (although we don’t like to play tower games). i even offered a choice of a map to come fight one

both Kain and FA have some fun groups to fight, they really do. i like fighting the more organized groups in even numbers, but it’s really hard to find those during the week.

dunno. my staff ele build can brawl on a point in spvp as glass. staff in 1v1 is is difficult, but certainly do-able with enough skill and a proper build.

Anyway, you ME guys are pretty good. I was the commander who pushed your zerg out of MagBL Bay while it was WPed and, later, in Vale after we broke the Bay siege. I think we both had about 20 for those engagements. You wiped us a few times and we returned the favor in kind. It was fun.

thanks, we were put into some engagements we’d had rather not be in that night though as we were kind of expected to babysit for some reason. regardless, we had some good fights. and yes, you’re correct! we had anywhere between 15~20 the entire night.

and this is correct. we believe 15v15 opens up some constraints. it feels like at 20+ you can just start throwing random classes in. maybe we’re just gigantic noobs.

ps. don’t build open field siege / defensive siege right in ME’s faces, it triggers this hormone like reaction and we simply can’t help but swarm the build site/siege in question, it usually results in rapid deaths of the builders.

i’ve been gone on vacation, and after an extremely stressful trip home i managed to get a good raid going last night. had a lot of fun on SoS BL with TC+SoS. your NA could use some work

i haven’t actually heard much from SoS since i transferred my alt account back to maguuma a few months ago. last time i was on SoS, i got the opportunity to play very closely with VoTF, TSym, AFS, Merc, and ND – just to name a few. even got the chance to play against RG a couple times. learned a lot there while you were in T1 (and as it fell) so i hold a lot of respect for SoS and the guilds who once belonged (and still remain!) there.

this is where i’d put a #seaofswag, but i’m bound by contract to only represent #magswag. sorry!
