Nope that’s not what my problem is.
I simply load up the client, log in, and then the play button just stays grayed out and un-clickable.
I’ve restarted the client a few times. The play button is un-clickable. Hmm..
I’m pretty sure they are doing maintenance right now. Not 100% sure though because I wasn’t online when they went down.
I don’t understand why this change was needed. Even if people were farming, there’s no way it was game breaking.
I really enjoyed looting a new weapon in the starting area and getting to try it out before entering the game.
Also, the few bags we received were a nice little surprise for first-timers. I don’t see how 72 copper makes up for this, at least one whole silver would make sense to me!
EDIT: I mean.. honestly though. We just saved the land, and became a crazy renowned citizen. We aren’t even worth a full silver? Hero of Shaemoor mykitten
EDIT #2: While it’s on my mind, you don’t even have more than one bag in the start area! Or any salvage kits. The only things they could “farm” would be what could fit in their starter bags, and that is just not a lot at all.

I have both! I only wish I had more character slots (;
And I love both, but I would have to say that I do enjoy my guardian a tad bit more, but I like the look and feel of my warrior, so that’s actually which one I’m leveling first!
(My main is an ele, and I love that too >.> I don’t care what people say, they’re awesome)

Ah okay great thank you! Now I wish I had the means to craft my own gear lol, way out of my price range at the moment though.

I’m sorry, but what are these knight and valkyrie you guys are talking about? Are they runes or some stats that I’m not seeing?
I appreciate the input from everyone! I’m really trying to make the most out of this class, I don’t think it is as bad as a lot of people are claiming, you just really need to know how to work your attunements.

Thanks for the replies! I was thinking critical damage and precision would bring me the most damage output, but I wasn’t positive. I’m still unsure of whether or not vitality is even worth it at all.
Honestly, in my opinion, the Glyph of Elementals is the greatest choice. If you have the chance to summon the water pet, he is great for soloing. Not only does he heal, but he occasionally grants frost armor, and even knocks down! The earth elemental is a great tank if you need something to take damage, and you can keep him alive with your water skills. The air pet is kinda useless, and the fire pet has decent damage but dies waaaay too fast. So if I had to choose for you, I wouldn’t take the hounds or the tornado. But don’t worry, you can eventually unlock them all anyway! (You continue to unlock skill points for filling your exp bar, even after hitting 80)
EDIT: Sorry, I see now that you already have the big elementals, in that case, I would take the tornado since you already have a good pet. But ultimately, the choice is up to you. I don’t play human, so I’m not sure exactly what the hounds can do, but I still love my water elemental and he has saved me countless times!

I’m trying to decide which pieces of the CoF gear I want to get, but I’m not really sure which stats are good for elementalists.
Will vitality be useless because we die so much anyway?
How much does condition damage affect our burns and bleeds over straight power?
Will hitting more and higher crits out-due both power and condition damage?
Here’s the stats for the 3 different CoF helms:
Option One:
+45 Power
+32 Precision
+2% Critical Damage
Option Two:
+32 Power
+32 Vitality
+45 Condition Damage
Option Three:
+32 Power
+45 Precision
+32 Condition Damage
Each option has a full set of gear with those same stats (different numbers).
Each set uses the same runes, so that’s not an issue.
Should I get a full set of 6, or mix and match?
Just looking for other elementalist’s opinions, please do not spam the topic about how terrible you think elementalists are and how much I should roll a different class.
Thanks!
Kryta is more than one zone, not just Queensdale. You will finish your Krytan achievements by going through other zones such as Kessex Hills. You simply need to “open the map” for these achievements, without traveling to any specific points of interest or waypoints, or anything of the like. Hope this helps!
I removed an item I was selling, and it’s not in my pickup window either.. this is awesome.
Yep, I’m getting those errors too! At least I got to sell things, too bad I can’t buy though lol
Haven’t seen a post about this yet, was just wondering if anyone has heard anything.
Maybe Anet should add some sort of scrolling marquee of current issues being worked on with expected down times.
I’ve been sitting on my character with a full inventory and bank waiting for the TP to come up so I can clear out the space, and it’s been down for a few hours now.
It’s probably meant to be a support skill. When an elementalist conjures a weapon, or in this case, the shield, a second one is dropped on the ground for someone else to use. The caster can easily “drop” his and go on using other abilites
You aren’t being punished, it’s just a coincidence.
Unless you have an enemy at ANet and they devised this clever trap for you.
Also, there is roughly a bazillion other places to get gear. You’ll probably be alright.
And if you are so determined to look like a Priory member, just use transmutation stones to change the look of the stuff you want to actually use.
Yes your smart remarks and pointless comments will fix the issue that other players may fall victim too. Tell you what, you buy me all the power gear I need for a full set and I will buy the priory gear so I can transmute it. Since you missed the whole point of the post. People shouldn’t be locked into a decision when they don’t have enough info to make the right one.
I’m sorry but you are wrong. You did not fall victim to anything. You should be making your choice based on the story and what fits your character’s personality best. If you wanted to pick an order based on gear stats, then you SHOULD have done some research. They aren’t just going to hand you the gear you want, if you are so excited to look like a Priory member, then maybe you should save up for it. I doubt many people will want +healing on their gear, that’s why there is a challenge in it. Anet WANTS people to transmute gear, and find their favorite look. Nobody said it was going to be that easy. Maybe you shouldn’t have rushed your character to 80 without further looking into things yourself.

For the level 33 personal story quest “Bad Blood” which takes place in the windy tunnel my story did not continue and trigger when entering the room with the Sons of Svanir. After defeating the mobs and walking around the corner, my story triggered the fight; however, I had already defeated the mobs and was unable to continue my personal story.
After re-entering the personal story instance and completing everything up until that room, I walked around the corner to trigger the fight before engaging. As a ranged character, I took quite a few hits, but survived and moved on. It appeared as though my quest still didn’t trigger, but this time around I was able to talk to the magister and proceed to make my decision.
This happened on a level 35 male Asuran Elementalist.
