your build is wrong them having a mesmer with condition build and glamour set up I hit them easily 400+ so fix your build and play smart.

For one, 400+ for confusion is no longer possible post nerf. I also fail to see how this is a build issue for me as I’m not at all speced into condition damage. I’m not condition\confusion speced, I’m PVT with 0 condition damage. I proc confusion on enemies from my chaos armor. I’m just saying it’s kinda dumb how my chaos armor can give someone confusion for 65 damage while their retaliation comes right back at me for ~375. It seems a bit counter intuitive to negate the usefulness of a defensive skill turning it into suicide against a group running retaliation (light field + blast finisher.)

I’m ok with all other siege but ACs. They all have their place, though I think we should still be able to block siege, but they fit well into the game play. ACs on the other hand completely ruin WvW. No line of sight needed, want to shoot through stone walls with an arrow..no problem (wtf?!?). You can stack target a choke area make it completly impassable and instant death. You know there is a problem when siege is being used in open field fights. ACs should straight up be pulled from the game and never brought back.

It appears none of you even understand what really changed. Glicko is still the same, ratings are still the same. The only difference is a random rating variation added at the end to allow for different matchups. Scores are still based on how well you do against the other servers with ratings used to gauge how well you should do. If you do better than expected (note you can still loose but do better than expected) you will gain raiting. If however you take the week off and get no points whatsoever, you of course loose rating. The variation added is only for the matchups and does not affect the true ratings and their of course limits in place to keep servers close to their original tiers.

Bottom line, if you have a much lower rating than servers you are paired up against, you are expected to loose, by how much is up to you and doing better than expected by Glicko will result in a good gain in rating and loss for the top rated server (even if they “win” the week).

Keep in mind the rating system will expect you to do very poorly. You could focus on just one map and score some points and really pick up some rating very easily this week. Or you could just give up without even trying.

You mention WvW so I assume you are usually aware of potential enemies. If you see a thief unstealth near you then you should be dodging.

So by that same logic, if you are standing near a ledge and you see a mesmer approaching, maybe you should be backing away from the ledge.

At least limit the number of arrow carts a person can be hit by at once. All we have now are keeps filled with 15+ arrow carts killing anyone within range instantly. Arrow cart wars 2 indeed.

If you really think that, you’re doing it wrong. PPT is ~90% population\coverage and has nothing to do with how well anyone actually plays. Stressing over the things you cannot control (population\coverage) is what leads to servers falling apart.

Just fix arrow cars so they obey simple physics laws like: not being able to shoot through stone walls, doors, roofs. Then get rid of the ground target reticle to eliminate the advantage to zoom hackers or 3 monitor users or whatever they really are. Make ACs fire like every other siege with direction and intensity.

I’m only getting disconnected on FABL, it hasn’t happened once on either of the other 3 maps or anywhere else in the game. At most I get 5 minutes before I get disconnected once I leave the Citadel area (come near any fights.) Inside the Citadel area I’ve been able to stay for up to 15 minutes before getting disconnected. From what I can tell from this weeks match-up thread, it’s happening to all three servers while playing on the red borderlands.

Still getting disconnected in FABL after 5 minutes. Between being unable to defend our home borderlands and the turtling siege wars it has turned into, I’m ready for something different.

How about just split up the guild? Moving 300 people at once is overly disruptive to both the server from which you are leaving and the one you are moving.

ACs should not being using ground targeting which is easily exploitable by the zoom hacks. Use the same mechanic as the trebuchets and catapolts.
ACs should adhere to line of sight constraints and not be able to shoot through stone walls, roofs, doors, etc.

I really enjoyed the GvG instances from GW1. They also allowed for spectating.

Devon, what are the chances of getting the AC changes rolled back before the reset and coming weekend? Or should we just go ahead and make other plans?

Why did we spend 80 levels gearing up, learning our classes and skills to be reduced to 3 skills on an arrow cart? I want to fight other classes, not lob siege back and forth for hours and hours. Bring back the capture the flag GvG instances from GW1 or something if this siege wars is the direction for WvW and I’ll just avoid it and leave it to those who enjoy turtling in keeps.

Glamour mesmers were OP, now they are brought back to a balanced level.

Glamour mesmers were not OP at all, 10 glamour mesmers at once were OP. The issue was one of scaling. Killing an entire class was not necessary. Most WvW mesmers specialized into glamours because it was really the only way to get any AOE damage. Just about every other mesmer build is only for solo ganking (shatter) or single target (GS). Since WvW has evolved into bigger and bigger zergs, specializing into glamours came naturally. Unfortunately with the damage on confusion being so low now, mesmers are relegated as portal bots or to manning an arrow cart.

Confusion was ridiculously OP in WvW. To argue that you must be delusional. A confusion based team (doesn’t need to be all mesmers, just need a few mesmer fields and blast finishers) could instantly apply 25 stacks to entire zergs pushing for a point.

Glamours are ethereal fields which need to be traited to cause confusion (2 traits: glamours cause blind which is 5 players max + blind causes confusion or the trait for applying confusion to anyone entering or leaving a glamour field). Blasting ethereal fields does NOT apply confusion to foes, it applies area Chaos Armour (3s) to your allies. A “few mesmers” would NEVER be able to apply 25 stacks of confusion to an entire zerg, check your facts before you post and start spreading misinformation please.

This can’t be intentional, twice the range and hitting for 4K+?? Just defended a tower with 2 guys against 20+. Please roll this back. ACs were a bad idea already, now it’s just a joke.

I’m one of the GMs of CO, and honestly the trolling doesn’t really bother me that much. I’ve played WvW for months and I’ve seen a ton of it in game and match threads alike. There was indeed some trash talking in LA, but I probably wouldn’t have even mentioned it had I been the only person in the guild to read it.

I can’t speak for everyone, but for my part I want out because there is no cohesion or strategic execution. I often have to command when I don’t want to, for longer hours than I would otherwise like because no one else will tag up or because our only other NA guild on in force is busy fighting on another map. It’s also discouraging to know that literally everything we capture as a guild will be gone within 30 minutes of us logging out. The coverage just isn’t good enough to hold territory anymore; weeks of losing our entire home BL every day is starting to take its toll. We can only mount sporadic offensives on FA or (rarely) TC BL anymore. EB is still fun, I guess, but we want more options and a less stressful role in server strategy.

There is a reason a lot of us opt out of putting to much effort on the importance of PPT, this is a major one of them. I think T3 would meet your needs and suggest you try it for a week before making a move off of KN (assuming KN does go down this week).

Playing for PPT, in my opinion, is for those who have not yet been in T1. I know not all of FA originally started on HOD with TA, but may like myself did and we know all to well how ugly and ultimately boring (for all sides) the game gets when you focus solely on Meta. I realize FA’s casual approach to the meta game annoys TC to no end but please realize that many of us don’t care for the mega zergs and long queues which are the necessary evil of getting to and “winning” T1 for a week.

So instead we just focus on good fights and having fun. I’m not meaning anything derogatory toward TC for focusing on the PPT aspect of the game, it is certainly your prerogative to do so. Stacking your server to avoid any coverage gaps is the key to advancing the meta game as everyone already knows and it will give you the best chance of advancing to T1. I wish TC luck in their quest for tier 1, but please stop the rhetoric on how FA “should be” playing the game. Many of us have either already been through that or already understand the toxic nature of that mentality. After all, this is just a game, have fun out there.

TC and KN should try attacking each other, would make this week much more competitive don’t you think?

Just so it’s clear, all those CD guilds which went to TC shopped around first. They did approach us at JQ and asked us to pay more than what TC was offering and they would xfer over. We respectfully declined, but for fair warning to you guys they did say that if things looked glim on TC they would come back to talk to us.

Honestly, any server that resorts to paying guilds to move over to them does so at their own risk and at the sacrifice of everything they’ve worked for up to that point.

When I heard TC was paying guilds to xfer over I was quite honestly shocked. Might as well call yourselves BG 2.0 now.

A pity KN seems to do less well this week and FA jumping one spot instead of going don. I’d like to have seen a TC-KN-BG match. That would be 3 servers all having good fun in one tier!

Only way for that to happen would be for FA to move up into T1, knocking BG down to T2 and I’m pretty sure FA would do everything in their power to prevent from moving up to T1.

What do you mean for you auto-attack isn’t a skill? Everyone can select one skill to automatically recast when the cool-down is finished. But somehow you magically have a different build of GW2 from everyone else? If you don’t like the auto-activation, turn it off and just because the #1 skill by default is the designated auto-activated skill doesn’t mean you have to leave it that way.

We all love this tier and a large part of that is because of the three server involved. I do not believe the situation in Kaineng is all doom and gloom but there are some valid concerns bought up by a few Kaineng players, primarily the lack of NA and not having a large enough PVE population to draw players in from.

Instead of just worrying about it lets do something about it then. Lets help Kaineng recruit by bumping their thread by sharing our positive thoughts and opinions on Kaineng. I know TC got a lot of love from Kaineng and BG players alike to make our recruitment thread be very effective in recruiting individual players and small guilds. Lets do the same for them. I urge FA players to do the same.

Why exactly would KA need to recruit much less need help from the 2 servers it has repeatedly won against? Is KA pushing for T1 or something and you are tring to help? Why not just transfer to KA yourself if that is the case?

KA has been in T2 for 8 weeks now and has come out 1st 5/8 times. So far I’m not seeing a problem. Of the 3 times they did not get 1st they came in 2nd, twice to BG before they moved back to T1 and once last week to TC. FA has yet to beet KA and has only come ahead of TC once in those 8 weeks.

I don’t get it. What’s the problem? I’m all for helping if there is a need, but I’m not seeing it.

Fort Aspenwood seem to be making good use of line of sight hacks and terrain exploits when using arrow carts. Best way, just get a quick video and also report them.

FA is in the takes the lead and in come the hacks and exploit allegations. Let’s keep this kind of drivel to a minimum.

Great fights last night on TCBL. The 3-way Garrison fight with FA coming out on top after KN opened up the doors was tons o fun.

Point ticks should not be based solely on who controls what when the timer ticks to 0. Please account for kills\deaths as well. This could work to slow down the point gains during times when only one server has any presence as well as to encourage actual fighting rather than the avoidance and turtling we see now.

I find clones useless in WvW, effective in pvp only due to how easily they die in WvW from all the AOE. Standard Glamour build (20-0-0-20-30) for AOE, or a power based GS for single target are best in WvW in my opinion.
