Specialization Appearance Items

Why would you folks at anet do this? Heavy is the only armor type that has the option to use each of the three appearance items granted from maxing out the specializations at the same time. Bad design.

Appearance items gained from maxing out traitline.
Light: Helm x1, Shoulder x2
Tempest/Elementalist – Shoulder
Chronomancer/Mesmer – Shoulder
Reaper/Necromancer – Helm

Medium: Helm x2, Shoulder x1
Scrapper/Engineer – Helm
Druid/Ranger – Shoulder
Daredevil/Thief – Helm

Heavy: Helm x1, Shoulder x1, Gloves x1
Dragonhunter/Guardian – Gloves
Herald/Revenant – Shoulder
Berserker/Warrior – Helm

Kudzu and the new legendary longbow

Since these weapons are supposed to be “Legendary”, why not give them 2-3 optional appearances for each or EVEN BETTER interchangeable appearance sections allowing players to customize/personalize their legendary really making it a “Legendary” weapon.

Example: The Longbow could have 3 different string options, 3 different grip options, 3 different limb options. Then allow the player to build it themselves. This would create at least some variation between appearances that would all obviously be a longbow coupled with giving the player a sense of personalization that would last longer than just the accomplishment itself.

Make this journey and reward memorable by basing it more on what the player wants. Please make an attempt at not forcing your playerbase to accept someone elses aesthetic. Step out of the box of trying to make everyone look the same. This would be a step toward making legendary weapons truly epic.

EDIT: add into that set of options a choice of sound effects.

I have to agree with Raistlin. With the addition of outfits there is less of an appearance distinction between professions. Removing the SKIN restriction between professions for armor (maybe weapons too) would massively increase the customization and overall customer satisfaction of the gw2 playerbase.

Last story mission too punishing

Just completed the story line yesterday, 11/17/2015, without issue. If your only bug issue is the last fight where you have to be in the air and gliding or pretty much die if you stay on the ground, I had no issue getting into the air by just running through the updraft AFTER the initial couple of tics of damage.

Should inventory slots be account bound?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Dvious.8126

Dvious.8126

Account bound bag slots would be outstanding. Once you buy those slots they are then open for any character you make on that account. Simply refund the difference after anet figures out how much each bag slot should cost for the account-wide unlock. Too simple too easy. In order to keep people happy about the change anet could give the players an option to turn existing bag slots account wide or not. If the player only plays one toon they might not want to convert over as the account-wide unlock would probably be more than the old 400gem purchase per slot. BUT for those who play multiple toons they probably have already paid above and beyond an account-wide unlock of bag slots and would be due a refund on some gems. Over all an excellent idea.

One step further would be to implement an option to pay for account-wide bag slot unlock while leaving the individual unlock for those who only play one character.

Now sharing those bag slots with your other characters would be a bad idea, not just for the devs having to code something like that but the size of that bag window on your screen would be a complete pain. 5 character slots with 8 total bags at 20 slots each….possible 800 item count and having to keep track of what is on which character…no thank you.

Why not a tag that you can toggle in your options, a RolePlay on/off switch. The game could then attempt to put you on a map with others who are toggled the same as you.

@killface
“The softest death penalty ever made for MMO”? Really? The cost scales based on gear and zone, please enlighten me as to how that is ‘soft’ when money rewards combined with drop rewards are low. Death should be one cost, not two. When you die you’re paying a repair cost + travel cost to a waypoint. Not everyone plays for hours at a time. I do play for hours on end and I play all day long on the weekends. There are others who don’t have that luxury though and charging them twice each time they die is ridiculous.

Give us a Developers Board INGAME please? patchnotes/events/general info

1)Why do game developers require people to be on their forums to be informed of upcoming (events/changes/happenings/patches) things?
2)Why is there no INGAME board (you could put one in each major city) with things we should know that are happening soon?
3)Why are we, as gamers, required to log out of the game we’re playing in order to get important information about the game we’re playing?

I WOULD RATHER BE PLAYING THE GAME THAN WRITING THIS POST.

I’m on the forums rarely, mainly when something like this comes to mind and I have to ask “why?”. I’m not one of the forum trolls, and I don’t have the forum page up all the time because I want to read about the game constantly….I’d rather play the game than be on the forums. Because of this, I miss out on things (and I bet I’m not the only one) that are posted ONLY on the forums. That’s not right, nor is it fair to the playerbase. The community of gamers as a whole can’t be relied on to pass the information along….it’s not their job. This has been a concern of mine for a long time with other games. Here’s a recent example – The portable mystic forge, an item that was attainable for about 2 weeks through recipes being used within a stationary mystic forge, is now no longer obtainable. Who has this item? The folks who logged into the forums and read the forums updates about upcoming patch changes, OUTSIDE OF THE GAME, saying that it was being taken out of the game. NO, I don’t want one given to me. I would like to have earned one though (or even had the CHANCE to earn one), but that isn’t possible now because I don’t check the forums all the time. This doesn’t make much sense to me. Pertinent game information (like upcoming patch notes) should be available from within the game. Please consider posting weekly information or something along those lines on a board somewhere within the major cities.

This is a question because I’m hoping a dev might take the time to answer this concern.

When our characters die, we take a hit from armor repair PLUS travel to a waypoint. On death there needs to be an option for auto/FREE travel to the nearest waypoint OR pay to travel to a farther waypoint. Please stop punishing us twice for one screwup.

Reward those kittensurrect the fallen

part of the problem is that during events, participants are rewarded based on how much they hit the target. stopping to res someone stops your dps or active participation in the event possibly giving you a lower ranking – silver or bronze. good system but not great due to that exact scenario. I’ve seen events fail because no one wants to stop actively participating in the event (stop dps’ing the boss) to res fallen comrades.

Multiple Trait Sets (specs)

Dvious.8126

Please add more trait pages for more than one trait setup so we don’t have to pay every time we want to do something different. Two or three trait pages should be sufficient. Mainly group, solo and WvWvW play sets are needed seeing as we already have one that is auto for regular pvp. That would be multiple character specifications or “specs” for those who know that term. Charge us to open the extra pages.

A few things to make the game more user friendly

Gameplay in this game is limited more by playstyle and less by profession. I love that
concept.

1) Please allow us to make easier informed decisions about which profession we
want to play by letting us see all of the trait descriptions even though they are
locked from level one. For example, instead of blocking out 2nd or 3rd tier traits (I
should be able to see all the traits I can slot into a line even if I can’t use them
until I spend points) list them greyed out. Label the skills at the top of the
description as 1st, 2nd, or 3rd tier trait skills with the description of what the
trait does. As things are, to see all your traits you just go into the mists at
level 2 (once you leave the starter instance) and you can look at everything in your
traits there. This is a bit of a pain in the butt though continuously refunding and
spending points to see which trait line does what though.

2) Skill descriptions need to be visible even though they are locked on the hotbar.

Doing these two things (mostly the trait page tweak) would allow players to better map out what direction they want to go with their character and allow players to better choose a profession based on their personal playstyle from level one.

3) Please consider an area (aoe) corpse loot option.

4) with so many account based things, why not crafting skills? If I learn a crafting skill on one character, why not make that same crafting skill available to all the characters on my account? It’s not game changing, just streamlined. It only makes it so I dont have to log out to switch characters. I already spent the time skilling up that particular crafting skill. Make it so you can only gain crafting skill points if you are crafting on the particular character that has that specific craft skill. Character (A) has weaponsmithing-skill level 170/armorsmithing-skill level 400, character (B) has huntsman-skill level 200/leatherworking-skill level 400, and character © is a jeweller-skill level 80. While playing character ©I would have access to weaponsmithing / armorsmith / huntsman / leatherworking, and my own jewelcrafting, but I could only gain skill points for jewelcrafting while on character ©. In order to raise weaponsmithing for instance I’d have to log onto character (A) and work on that particular profession. This would prevent us from having to bounce around characters to craft items by simply streamlining the crafting process as a whole.
This last suggestion about crafting, if your only arguement is soulbound items, just make the recipes that create soulbound items only craftable by the particular character that has that crafting profession. The recipe would just need to be greyed out to the other characters on that account to prevent any type of ‘exploit’ situation.
