I question the value of someone’s viewpoint when one of their highlights is soloing a camp.

We’re having fun too…. too bad bears don’t give bags too. I like SBI’s style. I’ve never gotten so many bags in so many different ways. Rangers are still garbage everyone knows it, but we on the other side are enjoying it so thanks for running so many.

I doubt there are very many players around here who remember the darkest days of SBI in which we not only played against T1 servers with 10% of our current population but also gave them one hell of a run for their money. FA and Mag talk a big game but I’ve yet to see them do any superior tactics" other than massive zerg play.

We’ve got a lot of crappy commanders these days but SBI always manages to do well.

Its next to impossible to fight Mag’s EB group which consists of 2-3 good sized guild groups with what we have participating. I assume it will be even more difficult tomorrow after the points are even or we are behind. Tonight I would say I hardly knew half the players, and most of the new players imploded in seconds. I can only imagine what it must look like from the enemy sideline. Initial pushes usually resulted in immediate retreat. Not looking forward to the rest of the week.

Hey Maguuma. If serious about the next couple matchs in WvW can we can a little more serious about communication and a little more professional in Mumble?
No idea who pays for it or controls it. But some moderation perhaps?

I play late at night a lot and often most players gather in one channel. But often it is hard to find because so many are in a guild channel rather than a WVW channel. Often there are 2 or more channels and it leads to communication problems IMO.

I understand a guild wanting to do their own thing. But if you want people to follow you in WvW and want them to easily find you, please at least be in a WvW channel.

If nothing else…think of new players to the server or someone joining mumble for the first time. Don’t you think most will not want to join a guild channel that they are not member of? Want to lose them from the start if they don’t know where to go or where to join? Or because it is always ‘quiet’ in the wvw channel for the BL they are on.

Sorry to point fingers but the worst offenders seem to be in VR guild. I am tired of having to join channels named “Booty Sweat” or “Whisper Oldsmeller about 12 year olds” because thier commanders are leading and they are too cool or whatever to be in the WvW channels. I do like some of them…but I won’t be following anymore if they won’t be a more ‘server’ oriented team player instead of just about caring about their guild. The game may be titled “Guild Wars 2” but it really should be titled “Server Wars” or something.

I will no longer follow a commander that is not in mumble and not in a WvW channel. Simple as that. And if doesn’t get better I won’t even bother with mumble. Why be in mumble for WvW if everyone is off doing their own thing in guild channels? Yeah, yeah…I know few if any care….but putting it out there for those that may.

I constantly hear complaints from commanders about people not being in mumble. JerkJerk and Bony especially. Not sure what they can do much about it…but Maguuma mumble needs some fixing IMO.

The dungeon is fine, the ooze part isnt really that hard if you take advantage of guardian and mesmer abilities. The bosses have straight foward mechanics and are enjoyable, but with that said I have no intention of doing the dungeon against because I have no reason to, nor, really, does anyone else.

There is no collective or hive mind in Guild Wars 2. I don’t have a problem with SWAG just because some of my guildmates may have a problem with SWAG. It is video game it might be time to take a break if you feel compelled to message me. I don’t even get in to all that video game drama. My posts on the forums are about topics that interest me or I might agree or disagree with. I don’t post on the forums to prove I’m some cool dude with leet skillz I just have my opinions on certain things.

The tournament organizer is in total control, regardless of if he was or felt screwed nothing will change, he is requesting that preliminaries are done in single elimination in the future so teams aren’t quite so exhausted. This particular piece of feedback being suggested in the venue that it was with this particular inflammatory twist to it is what most people would consider infantile and clkitten.

I keep logging onto my guardian. I do this, because people just can’t stop talking about how great they are.

I then log into WvW and get stomped.

I don’t get it….

On my warrior, I get Healing Signet, Adrenal Health, Regen Banners, some regen food, and I can charge into battle, and feel like a god among men.

100blades is no joke in zerg pvp, and I can down people three at a time when they try to rez someone. I can’t be kited with my longbow, and the #3 blast is devastation from above.

On my guardian, I’m late to the show most of the time, because they are so godawful slow. If I don’t get ganked by a thief on my way to the battlefront, the first person with burst, that targets me, has about a 70% chance of sending me back to the waypoint.

What good is 30% damage reduced from protection (for only a few seconds) when you have no health to begin with? …and where is their amazing healing?

I honestly don’t get it, and I will continue to happily log onto my banner warrior.

Just gonna bold that bit so the other guardians that read this thread know to skip it.

Try to be more gracious losers next time though, our commander was talking about how you were being bad sports about hard rezzing, then accusing us of beating 3 thieves comp with 2 guardians comp and how it is not impressive (even though for half the matches our second guardian left so I was the only one)

P.S.: We were all running Zerg v Zerg support builds, not ideal for skirmishes

Sorry about that, when we roam late we do drunk roaming where we do shots with certain rules “every downed guardian, thief etc.” so we were plastered and I was being belligerent. Though I haven’t seen a hard rez in a 5v5 and I don’t think any of us were expecting that. That said you guys played great matches and we had a fun back and forth, though I think you guys won more. We should do it again sometime.

Sounds like they will be upping the cooldown on a bunch of them to avoid spam.

If you want precedence for that claim, just look at “CC” and shield skills. Short duration, long cooldowns. For ANet that is somehow “tactical”.

Well, yes. Forces the players to use them when they’re actually needed, instead of just spam spam spam. It punishes those who throw away skills mindlessly more. Why would shorter CDs be more tactical, in your view?

If you make CD’s too long on blocks or CC, there’s a point where people will not try to use them for fear of losing them when they’re “really needed” —- because they never know when they’re “really needed”. (this is why a lot of guardians say shield sucks and swear by any other offhand)

On AOE, it makes zero sense —- while many aoe hit close to single-target numbers, a longer cooldown will not make them more tactical because of insane mob health. As it is, if you can’t spam aoe when its needed, then there’s no real point to aoe, you may as well just ctrl+t and call out to mumble.

This is true-I use my shorter cooldown shouts WAY MORE than “Save Yourselves” on my Guardian, and similarly for the Consecrations; the shorter the cooldown, the easier they are to use without fear of “losing” the skill when you need it the most (ends up being rarely used, if at all.) I can see the same happening with all other skills, AoE or otherwise, if their cooldown is not reasonable (not that I am complaining about SY, since that shout would be overpowered if the cooldown was any shorter.)

On that subject, I still use my shield’s skills regualrly despite the relatively long cooldowns. Cooldowns that make me hesitant to use skills are those that are 60+ secs.

SY is great for:

-aoe ally condition removal, which as i imagine you wvw is particularly useful
-stacking buffs on yourself
-healing with AH traited
-short burst of swiftness if you dont have retreat in your utilities.
-great burst coping(10 seconds of protection, retaliation, and regeneration, not including the other buffs).

Also to the guy complaining that contemplation of purity, tell you what, you give warriors CoP, they’ll take it glady.

On another note, this game is meant to have specific builds, your build it not meant to counter every other build, you can not be king of everything, I’m sorry you didn’t have a need to use CoP, you should be happy? Also, citing lack of skill for a cd being to long isn’t reasonable, I nor people better than me and have never had a problem of knowing when to use skills on the Guardian, the problem your encountering is called “indecisiveness”.

Also, knowing when to use your own skills, is a matter of understanding what your skills do, and what an enemy profession is likely to do. If a burst thief is about to unload on me, and hold the line is on CD for one reason or another then I might use SY, especially for the break stun.

This will never be WoW, you will never make a build that can cope with everything and come out on top, there is no build that can handle every situation, you will always excel at whatever thing you specialize your build towards. The more you can handle one situation, the less you can handle another.

So far this matchup is not looking promising at all. It actually started with some really good fights vs an IoJ guild, but talked to their leader and he said they’re the only good roaming guild left on the server and they’re planning on transferring to FA. So ya. Yak’s seems to have completely disappeared, not sure what happened to them. Keeping my fingers crossed things pick up at some point.

That was me and my ranger buddy :P and as it stands there are only 3 people left on IoJ in my guild. I can transfer now but i won’t leave until everyone’s gotten off, like a good ship captain. X.X

Oh, yes, I don’t mean to diminish their accomplishments, I just don’t think that aspect of play is good for the game. Players should obviously use whatever tactics ANet allows them, I just think this is a sort of tactic that needs some better limitations or counters.

Also consider that IoJ was the worst server in tier 2, so be happy your in tier 3 where atleast its A close matchup :P
