If you don’t like it, don’t buy it. Don’t spend money on gems, don’t spend gold on gems, don’t buy it.

If you don’t like it and still bought it anyway, then either:

  • you are a terribly informed consumer and need to do your research before spending money/gold on these things, like looking at dulfy or the miniature preview window in this case;
  • you don’t understand that paying for it and speaking with your wallet matters so much more to ANet than any complaints you have after the fact which, at that point, don’t matter at all.

This rather assumes the person suspects ahead of time that there could be a problem. Since it couldn’t be previewed from the hero panel, you’re saying that people who had to buy essentially sight unseen (and seeing a small picture on dulfy isn’t good enough) and then realize after purchase that it was below standard shouldn’t complain.

Saying to wait till others find a problem doesn’t work either because, obviously, some had to buy it to find the problem and you are saying those people don’t have the right to complain.

This.

Disappointed. Textures are definitely not up to snuff. 350 gems. That’s about $4.40 USD. Assuming you pay for the thing.

Is there a way to remap skill cancel/esc?

The solution I discovered works:

Open your options, go to your key bindings, and bind a key for “Sheathe Weapon” (or “Store Weapon”, whichever it may be called). Anytime you try to sheathe your weapon, it will cancel whatever skill you are activating.

Gave this a shot on my warrior. Sadly, instant activated skills will not be interrupted and the subsequent animation/skill will go to conclusion. Using ESC doesn’t help interrupt them either. Some skills can be interrupted by moving but the ones I tested on warrior such as Whirlwind Attack, Rush, and Bull’s Charge cannot by interrupted by trying to move during animation which makes the lack of this feature even more frustrating. I don’t want movement to cancel skills, I just think a interrupt key bind would make a lot of sense given my and others comments.

What if Crafting did not give XP?

I hope you guys do know that crafting exp has been nerfed. A level 20 character that pops a crafting booster and then gets 2 crafts to 400 will have netted only 7 or 8 exp experience levels.

Is there a way to remap skill cancel/esc?

I can remap it to a macro key on my keyboard but the key isn’t very convenient to press. Can some something like this be added to a future patch? I’m sure others have mentioned this before. The feature was in Guild Wars 1 as well.

Traits Part 2

I don’t understand the new skill point system they are suggesting and ArenaNet’s motivation to change the existing system.

Here’s an excerpt from their announcement:

“characters that have reached level 80 will no longer gain skill points through leveling
Skill points will be added as rewards across high-level content to offset this change.”

So for those of us who decided to start playing this game again lately, who haven’t racked up hours upon hours of gameplay and haven’t accrued a large amount of unused skill points, will now have to go out to “high level” areas to get them and can’t play general content and other game modes such as WvW and PvP (tomes of knowledge) to level up and acquire more skill points.

My concern is for items that require skill points such as ascended gear and legendaries, under the new system, would require me to go to “high level” areas to acquire them. I have five level 80 characters that I’ve worked hard to level in the past couple months, and two of them have 100% map completion including WvW. All of them have gone through the story line. None of my characters have enough skill points for Bloodstone Shards for example. I play all my characters fairly evenly as well, I don’t focus on one particular character, so reading about this change has been very frustrating. Buying those items that require skill points would force me to focus on a single character instead of playing my whole account. I would have to play yet more PvE (which I’ve done more than enough of, repeatedly, five times in fact). Skill points aren’t account bound either.

The PvE story is great and all but I’m pretty tired of leveling new characters to 80 and I have no plans to make anymore, mainly due to the new trait system. At this point it’s a grind.

I’m lucky that I made 5 characters when the game first released to reserve my old character names from GW1, otherwise I’d have to spend even more skill points for traits under the new system. Thankfully I don’t have to deal with that on my old characters. On my new characters though…

I don’t understand how this new system would make things any better for me and others that might be in the same situation.

Usually it’s fine but during dungeons or world bosses with all the animations and skill effects, the cursor becomes very difficult to see. Often times I have to move it around and wiggle it around a bit to figure out where it is. It’s especially irritating when trying to place AoE indicators and the placement area is difficult to see during the situations mentioned above. Sometimes it’s imperative to do quickly to support the group and those few seconds of delay can be detrimental to the group.

Anyone else experience the same issues?

If there were a way to make the cursor or the ground targeting template, or both, more visible, would others be interested in something like this?

Does this bug occur in PVP too? If it does, mention so and alarm bells at ANet will ring.

This was tested in the Heart of the Mists, at the pvp training area against the target golems. I first noticed this in open world PvE though.

6 hits. And that was with a full 3 bars of adrenaline. Five hits with 2 bars, four hits with 1 bar.

Surprised no one else mentioned this bug again since the post I replied to above, about a year ago. It seemed so obvious to me just watching the skill when I made my warrior recently.

Just tried it in Heart of the Mists, on the training golems there. 6 hits. Not 8.

Seems this has been bugged for two years now, since the last post? A dev could test this in 5 seconds and find the same result.

Asuran female warrior. Maybe it doesn’t happen on a male character?

This seems to still be bugged. Looked at the combat log and only 6 hits are registering compared to the 8 in the skill description. Can anyone else with with a female asuran warrior confirm?

Has anyone ever made the suggestion for trait templates. This is something I would really like to see.

Seems they’re going to add more content before they actually improve the game.

Honestly, compared to GW1, the only things that have improved in this game is art design, jumping/swimming, open world, trading post. It’s too bad GW1 is dead now since everyone migrated here.

Otherwise it’s a lot more than just a few steps back comparatively. UI customizability, map/radar system, level progression, item stat system, skill system and mechanics, single profession/class system, lack of a skill/trait template system. Just to name a few. It’s as if the people who had their vision for GW1 all left and new people stepped in for GW2. Maybe it’s got something to do with Arenanet being a subsidiary of NCSoft and their fantastic games?

Oh and I guess there might be a change in the trait system with the upcoming expansion. So the trait system was fine, then it was changed and people all hated it, so now they’ll change it again because people are so frustrated, and now people have to wait to pay for the new expansion before they even get to see any of the new changes.

I’m lucky I have friends to help me with gear and that I had characters made before the change when the game came out, otherwise I’d be wondering why I’m even playing this game. I don’t think this applies to just the trait system either where they decided to change things that were just fine before…

Maybe they should add a new condition. “Frustration” – “Throw your hands in the air in frustration. Nothing happens. Stacks in intensity.”

I’ll just play my other two characters, not deal with this crap, and leave my warrior to twiddle his thumbs,

So I’m guessing this has been beaten to death before but I am so unbelievably frustrated.

So i decide to make a new character because I’ve finally decided to play this game after playing it in beta and being disappointed, and lo and behold, I have the following problems:

-can’t survive long enough to get to the locations where wiki says they are
-can’t find the goal (chest or boss or whatever) in said location on the wiki or can’t figure out how to trigger the event
-can’t beat the boss because the trait is in a higher level area that I can’t survive in, and can’t solo it either, too bad there’s no henchmen?
-can’t afford to buy the traits

And this is for getting "low level " adept traits, not the higher level ones. Oh I guess I have to find all 65 traits to fill my trait tree too…

What is this ridiculousness?

And all this is coming from my lvl 35 war (that I was lucky enough to craft to level 60, oh wait, they decreased crafting experience gained too apparently), not some fully geared lvl 80 with rare equipment.

I read some of the possible reasons for why they changed it and quite frankly it’s BS. They want people to experience content, fine, they have the hearts. But they then limit skill progression? What the hell is that?

The organized and regular frostbitten toolboxes is what I’d like to trade in the ugly clothing for. I know of several others that are disappointed that the NPC wasn’t left in for a little while longer.

Everything you could buy with ugly clothing is still available by other means anyways, except the account bound snowballs.

What do you mean? There isn’t a wintersday gift exhange merchant to exchange out the ugly clothing for something actually worth something.

If you mean selling the ugly stuff on the TP then that is not what I mean.
