A few question about Charr, for those of us who actually like the race-
Q1: What age does a Charr cub leave the Fahrah?
Q2: During their training in the Fahrah, how is a Charr’s profession decided? What would prompt a cub to be given training in spellcasting, when spellcasting is not particularly liked in Charr society? Or does the Farah merely give Charr a basic military training and they then leave and decide which profession they want to specialise in?
Q3: Any chance of getting a vague idea where the Ash Legion Homelands are? We know about Blood’s, Flame’s and we can assume Iron’s is Ascalon. What about Ash?
Thanks. Hope you reply to these.
Thanks for this list, it’s unfortunately extremely useful. I stick with the Arah legs on my female Charr Necro because they’re the one leg armour that actually looks really good on Charr.
I just wish Anet actually cared about Charr armour. At this rate it feels like we’ll never get a fix.
Yeah, this is super bugged. Even the wiki says so. I’ve done this boss fight multiple times without getting hit by the waves and jumping them religiously. Still haven’t got the achievement.
Also, while we’re here, pretty sure the molten facility weapons test one is bugged too.
It’s a super dumb complaint, but the fact that the new male faces look more canine really bugs me. I guess I just want the race of giant battle cats to stick to looking like cats.
It’s a really silly thing to complain about though, I know. On the other hand, I love the female faces !
Palawa Joko. He’s a pretty cool dude.
As with numerous other achievements they have done, the first-mentioned was rewarded even after being hit by everything for some people, and not for others, nice and buggy achievement. Second one I too have jumped over and/or avoided all shockwaves, but didn’t get it the times we’ve gotten that Fractal. Perhaps it’s something stupid like everyone in the party must avoid all shockwaves, le’sigh. Don’t really think the third one is bugged, just takes some co-ordination. Make sure he/she/it never explodes though.
Ah, the usual then. I feared as much. It’d be great if they ever released a patch that didn’t have buggy or vaguely worded achievements for once.
I’m referring to the ones under Dungeons > Fractals of the Mists.
First off, Weapons Tester-
“Destroy the thermal core without being struck by any molten weapon attacks.”
I assume this is referring to the AoEs and stuff during the boss fight while you’re destroying the core? If so, how on earth do you avoid the barrage of stuff at the end when everything fires? I can usually dodge a large chunk of it, but never all of it. I’m probably just bad at dodging though.
Secondly, Shockwave Skipper-
“Defeat the leaders of the Molten Alliance without being hit by a shockwave.”
I’m assuming this means the shockwaves the Berserker sends out when he does his stomp. I’ve done this fight multiple times and have dodged every single shockwave as far as I can see. I still don’t have the achievement.
Also Subject 6 Deep-Sixer seems pretty buggy.
I don’t want new skins until they bother to fix all the problems with existing skins.
While I appreciate the efforts to listen to people and work on improving existing armour sets, do you not feel that resources and time would be far better spent fixing the appalling clipping issues that have been in the game since launch?
Rather depressingly, a huge number of armour sets across all genders, weights and classes have some sort of problem with various body parts clipping through the armour. The worst offender is Charr armour. Finding an armour set that does not clip with SOMETHING on my Charr is nigh on impossible. If it’s not the tail, it’s the horns getting sliced off by helms. If it’s not the horns getting sliced off, it’s sure to be some other annoying little mistake. The fact that our T3 Light Cultural has a SOLID SKIRT befuddles the mind quite frankly. I’d be willing to put up with the tail clipping in existing armours if it wasn’t for the fact that you are still giving us new armour skins where the tail clips. Your latest Gem store light armour skin (Trickster) for example. The skirt clips with the tail on Charr. Surpise, surprise. You’ve been told by players several times how much we hate the tail clipping, why are you still churning out armour with this problem?
It’s really not just Charr though. I have a max body shape female Norn Mesmer. Most of the light armours clip through her thighs at the front. At the back, it clips through itself so there is a patch of armour under layer peeping through the top layer rhythmically as she breathes. My female human Engineer? Boots clip through trenchcoats a lot of the time, and I had to reduce her hip size because it was distorting the shape of armour. And I know there’s other problems, that I’ve heard from other people, but I can’t confirm for myself as I don’t own every race, class and gender combo.
So why, I politely ask, would your first priority be to “fix” a “problem” with Sylvari cultural that didn’t even exist in the first place. You’ve clearly upset a lot of players with this change. I have a male Sylvari Warrior, so I’m fortunate not to have been affected by this “fix” yet, but I can foresee major issues occurring with my T2/Twilight Arbor combo I have on him. I already have enough trouble dying the combo to blend with each other as it is.
I’ve already said enough about how confused I am by your prioritising, Anet. And I do respect that you are trying your best to give us improved content here, so instead of complaining I’m going to give a suggestion now. In future, instead of introducing stuff like this in stealth patches, why not make a post on the forums proposing your planned changes? Tell us what you plan to do, give us a preview picture of what the changes look like, and then let us say yea or neigh. Take on board what the players say, and if people don’t like it keep the content the way it is, or go back and work on it more until they do. If people do like it, go ahead and plomp it in game.
With the release of the Executioner’s Outfit and the Bloody Prince’s Outfit in the Gem store I have realised just how much I miss the way costumes worked in Guild Wars 1. And from what I’ve seen, so do other players.
So that’s my suggestion, short, simple and sweet. Please let us wear the awesome Town Clothes costumes as armour. You’d probably find you sold more of the outfits on the gem store that way, too. So it’s a win-win for everyone really.
When I got this achievement I did not get hit by ANYTHING that caused burning. When I say anything I mean both the flames on the ground, and the Lava Elementals’ attacks. It may be that that when the achievement says “Complete the ooze font puzzle without getting hit by flames.” it also means the flames the Elementals attack you with. I was kiting the ooze rather than dealing with the Elementals, btw.
